  1. Had my first Nurgle battle today and i had a blast, I'm glad I chose this army.

A question on plague drones  - I was thinking their Locus of Contagion ability would up ALL their attacks,  both the riders plague swords/shooting and all the drones various attacks.  Likewise i thought the GUO's Grandfather's Joy would boost ALL that models attacks, not just the riders.

However my opponent states that the faqs stipulate that such bonuses only go to riders,   not mounts,  so the drones were SOL.   Hes a good egg and I kinda remembered reading that once before I took a break from the game so I went with  it - but i wanted to check with you experienced Nurgle generals- do the drones themselves not enjoy the bonus attacks of these abilities?  I looked at the maggotkin and chaos faqs and didn't see any clarification.

    Thanks all

I'll get the exact colors when I get back,  but black primer, dark grey base coat,  agrax wash, dark pink drybrush, twice,  and then spot drybrushed tan flesh.   The mix of brown and pink turns it purple but there is no purple.

      Reveal hidden contents

    See below.

Arrowhead and Camelia pink are Martha Stewart

The mystery color is the third one over.    It's kind of a rose pink,  and goes on thin.   The next one is unmarked  but is Ceramcoat "medium flesh."  The one on the end is "Fleshtone."

The last two are not used for the basic skin tone, but in combination with the rose and medium flesh, I use these four to paint all skin lesions and boils.

Awesome thanks.   I'm going to try to speed paint this army, so I'm thinking dark brown primer, dry brush dark pink,  agrax shade, drybrush dark pink again then highlight tan.  I hope it comes pretty close.

Just got my first magnetized GUO done. I think I woke him up. IMAG0820.jpg.f0646b8af9e701366ffb467da89160c1.jpg

That looks really cool.  I'm trying to figure out my color scheme for my newly assembled force and this one is really interesting.

What was it, black undercoat, progressive layers of lighter purple dry brushing and then washed with violet?

How those this than work with the crown of conquest.

it is nowhere stated that you have to use it but rather said that it is always activated.

those this than mean, that both Deathrunner will be taken of the board, because of both being an illusion or is it just that both of them are real?

    My thoughts exactly.

The Crown of Conquest should still be a viable tactic, I would think.   It's benefit is passive.  It is not "used" or otherwise specifically activated by the Deathrunner.

I believe this clarifies things like each Deathrunner doesn't get to roll for something like cunning deceiver, which I don't think was ever intended to be allowed, but passive effects aren't "used" - they just exist.   I'm curious how people interpret this.

  5. Greetings Nurglenerds!  I'm just getting back into AoS after a long break, and I thought my renewed interest in the game should accompany a renewed army.   I think Nurgle models are truly awesome and am looking at going with them.    I currently play Skaven, and while they're super fun, I want to make sure my next army is more ....reliably competitive...before laying down some dough.   With the new edition and me being out of the game so long, the answer is harder to research - so i ask you, do you current Nurgle players feel that  the army will continue to be a strong one in this new edition?

    Thanks for your input!

  6. As a little tangent:

I'm sure I'm not the first one to do this,  but I hadn't come across it on the interwebz yet.  If you want a couple of Deathrunners but are having a hard time coming across the models, kitbashing some Bloodbowl Gutterunners (2 come in the back) with some Stormvermin weapons a leader heads (finally a use for my Stormvermin kit ?  ) gives what I think are some pretty descent Deathrunner twins.

  7. Hi all!  Just returning to the new AOS after a lot of time away.  Gonna try to get some games in this week, was curious for any feedback on this  1250 pt list to see if I'm probably on the right track:

    Allegiance: Chaos

    General:  Deathrunner w/ Crown

    Screaming bell

    1x40 Clanrats - spears

    1x40 Clanrats - spears

    1x5 Acolytes

1x3 Stormfieds - warp fire projector

    1x Warplightining Cannon

    -1250 exact

    -----

I thought about dropping the acolytes and replacing with a Packmaster for the Stormfiends (who'd be armed with Shock Gauntlets, in that case..)

    Thanks for any input!

  8. Thank ya!

Hmmm I think I see why I'm confused....the free core "rules" download doesn't have them (nor does the GH18), meaning, I suppose, the hardcover Core "Book" that came in the box set has the grand alliance abilities now....which conveniently means to get them, one has to shell out another 30 to 50 bucks to get a digital or physical copy....

Unless, is anyone aware if they have the GA allegiance abilities free to download somewhere still?  I can't seem to find them free anywhere...

Have you guys seen the new Crown of Conquest?

Friendly CHAOS units do not have to take battleshock tests while they are within 6" of the bearer

Cunning Deciever is also quite awesome:

Roll a dice at the start of each of your hero phases as long as this general has not been slain. On a 5+ you receive 1 extra command point.

Can someone tell me where this is published?  I just updated the app but the Chaos allegiance abilities don't match this...
