  1. New Battletome is out, and I need some help with one of our Battle Tactics. Mass Conjuration requires casting 3 spells from the same wizard, but with the nerf to Arcane Tome not allowing us assign it to a wizard I don't see how this is feasible for anyone other then Kairos. Am I missing another artifact or command trait somewhere that would allow a third cast?

The comet warscroll is a spell that has a model. It's not a regular unit.

Either way it's still a spell, so the staff of focus increases the damage it deals. The people arguing against it are being pedantic; ignore them.

They aren't being pedantic, they are just flat wrong. To give a little more context to this, the wording on Staff of Focus says "In addition, if the bearer casts a spell that inflicts any mortal wounds during that phase ... on each unit that spell affects." So the wording of the Staff itself doesn't care that the spell is a model, and that you are dealing damage based on some models placement. The only things that matter are:

Is it the Hero Phase in which Staff of Focus was used?  For our purposes here, yes. Note: this would not add damage to the beginning of the round effect.
Was the Everblazing Comet cast by the unit(bearer) who used the Staff? For our purposes here, yes.
Does the Everblazing Comet spell deal mortal wounds? Yes.

Therefore Staff would increase those mortal wounds by 1.

If the Staff said something like "When the bearer of this artifact deals mortal wounds with a spell" then I could almost understand the confusion, but it's very plain from the actual text that all the Staff cares about is a spell dealing mortal wounds when it goes to increase those mortal wounds.

So i was wondering, how much is everyone investing in magic? in terms of how many casters/endless spells and others sources for unbinds, personally i am running double incantor with cogs, geminids and comet although thats like a quarter of my list invested in magic. So what different approaches have you peeps  have taken in their sc magic. Thoughts?

I'm going absolutely nuts, but I think that is because it's been 2 years since I've had any significant amount of casting potential in my army and I'm overdosing. This list is what I mean and it is ludicrous. The Incantor with the Staff of Focus has a +4 to cast the turn she cracks it. The Endless spells list is a variable 180pts. this is just the last list I used.

    Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals
    - Stormhost: Celestial Warbringers
    Lord-Arcanum on Gryph-Charger (240)
    - General
    - Trait: Portents and Omens
    - Spell: Celestial Blades
    - Mount Trait: Keen-clawed

    Lord-Exorcist (140)
    - Spell: Stormcaller
    Knight-Incantor (140)
    - Celestial Staves (Artefact): Staff of Focus
    - Spell: Chain Lightning
    Knight-Incantor (140)
    - Spell: Lighntning Blast

    Drakesworn Templar (460)
    - Arc Hammer
    - Artefact: Hammers of Aurgury
    - Mount Trait: Keen-clawed

    5 x Sequitors (120)
    - Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields

    - 3x Stormsmite Greatmaces
    5 x Sequitors (120)
    - Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields

    - 3x Stormsmite Greatmaces
    5 x Sequitors (120)
    - Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields

    - 3x Stormsmite Greatmaces
    5 x Evocators (200)
    Grand Convocation (130)
    Balewind Vortex (40)

    Everblaze Comet (100)
    Aethervoid Pendulum (40)

    Total: 1990 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 0 / 400

    Wounds: 83

Yes, I am stupid. I have known this for ages but somehow forgot about it and got excited. That's probably because I am looking for an excuse to still field them in 2.0 and not build and paint new Sequitors.

Are you planning to build and paint a Lord Arcanum, and make him your general? If not, then Liberators are still your cheapest battleline unit, and unless you are running 3 Judicators, the only way to get 3 battleline units. Liberators definitely still have a place, it's just that place is a little smaller then it use to be.

Oh i didnt knew that about idoneth. How do they do that?

why you have to use gavriels ability in the hero phase?

Once More, For Sigmar, Charge!: If you use this command ability, then until your next hero phase add 3 to charge rolls for friendly Stormcast Eternal units that are within 9" of this model at the start of the charge phase.

I don't have a book so I can't say this for certain, but I'm pretty sure, unless otherwise stated in the Command Ability, you can only use Command Abilities in your Hero phase. Every instance of an Ability that can be used outside the Hero phase has directions on which phase it can be used in, at least as far as I have seen. I will correct this if other information is given that contradicts this.
