  2. Working on my Great Unclean One (even while it's not Wednesday [emoji6])

The Great Unclean one is actually the Nurgling on top. The beast underneath is just a mutated toe nail [emoji6]

It looks like a combination of the Glottkin and a Maggoth Lord?

If you have any other build pictures that would be interesting to see the process.

When you're building your custom stuff, is it a "plan as you go" mental visualization?

Nice work. Almost makes me want to completely steal the idea and make a kitbash of one as a GUO. (It's much nicer than the current available finecast kit.)

(How did the Beasts of Nurgle turn out btw?)
  3. Thanks for your feedback and the heads up about our certificate. We've recently been doing some behind the scenes work for an upcoming update and have now fixed the certificate issue.
As for creating an account, we decided to do it this way so the user's paints and lists are synced to the server. If you lose your device, you can simply login to a new one and everything will be synced back over. It also allows us to add new paint ranges without an app update.

True, but unfortunately the app appears to be a thin client front-end to a web service that's using a SHA1 certificate.

Should the back-end server have issues, or as a product designer you decide that the monetization doesn't meet expenditures then the user lists and paints can vanish along with all the "how did I paint that?"

Device backups and ability to sync the users lists to iCloud (or a 3rd party cloud provider) addresses issues of device/data loss for the user.

Offline access, and user data integrity and continuity of data for the user are key features that may be useful to consider in future versions. (Not everyone has good internet access in the location where they paint.)

I know I'd pay 1-2 pots worth of GW paint to know that my digital notebook of painting wasn't going to potentially vanish due to stuff out of my control.
  4. Cheers, if you have any feedback please let us know: info@paintpotapp.com

The server certificate isn't listed as trusted when heading over to the "Developer Website" It's listed as an expiring shortly, untrusted cert.

The app is also requiring creation of an account, and doesn't appear to work without a login. (And doesn't work offline...)

    :(
  5. Can anyone tell me which base I should use for snotlings and how many models i should put on it?
And which base do I put Skarsnik and his Gobbla on?
    Thanks in advance! [emoji4]

    Skarsnik & Gobbla - 60mm Round

Snotling Swarm - 50 mm Round (around 5-7 is more than reasonable, though I've seen them with as few as 3-4. if you're doing fewer models put in scenery bits to fill up the space as a scenic base.)

  6. Very much so! In fact it's already well in the works and I have a number of pages fully completed. Hopefully it's going to be something really fun for fans of skirmish - as well as porting over some of the balance tweaks and campaign elements from Hinterlands it's going to have loads of new content especially for Skirmish, mainly: Rules for a variety of Multiplayer Campaigns, down time between campaigns (and rules to link multiple campaigns together), weather rules, potions, scrolls, artefacts, and expanded rules for your General to almost make it feel like an RPG. [emoji4]

Hey [mention=798]bottle[/mention] any news on the update status?

  7. Don't expect prices to be cheaper on the repack. :(

They did a repack for the Pink Horrors and their costs went up. I blame rounding issues ... or round bases ... or new colors on the box. Or a dislike of specific odd numbers. Or it not being divisible nicely by 5. :P

  8. Nope, they are literally the starter set's with a change in the colour of the injected plastic. Nothing new.

They can't be "the same casts" if they're all being done as "press to fit" because the old models weren't press to fit.

Given that they're using digital modeling, It could be the same digital models redone to allow press fit.

The quote in the interview indicated that other than the prosecutors, which will require a little glue, it is all press fit.

This kinda meshes up with the redone "battle of vaedros" set from ages ago that was done in colored plastic for the toy stores.
  9. Coming next week for Age of Sigmar, priced at the same point as the Start Collecting sets:

Thunder and Blood contains miniatures, rules, scenery and painting information in one box and makes the perfect starter set to begin playing Warhammer Age of Sigmar. The box contains 44 Easy to Build miniatures from the Warhammer Age of Sigmar boxed game (80-01) supplied in red and gold plastic, a reversible tray used as scenery and carton play mat. It also includes a painting guide, the core rules, 4 battle plans, 8 war scrolls, as well as dice a range rule paper gaming mat and a scenery piece allowing you to get started straight away.

Also, Korghos Khul and Bloodsecrator in one box and Vandus Hammerhand in another, £25 a piece.

From Mongoose matt on Dakka dakka.

The pictures I've seen on image search are poor quality, but with the current box having 47 miniatures and 11 war scrolls. That all is in line.

That prices out to $40 USD each for The Bloodsecrator and Khorne Lord box and then the same for the Lord Celestant.

And makes that new start collecting box a solid deal at the $85 usd price. (Though it does increase the cost equivalent to $165 for all the current models you get for $125.)

  10. So, in looking at the (rather blurry) pictures I've seen of the new starter set (the Thunder & Blood version)

It _almost_ looked like neither Vandus nor Khul were in the box.

Given that the new models are rumored to be press-fit... and both of those models don't appear to be good "fits" for press-fit models. It would be pretty reasonable ...

  11. Thank you! Glad you could make it, and I'm happy to hear you had such a good time. We will certainly do it again next year, and I have high hopes for an even better event in 2018!

Wow! From the pictures the terrain is pretty spectacular.

Did anyone take pictures in the terrain building process that you could share?

    The upside-down plateau is nice!
