    Three games
Saturday came and went in a flurry of axe wielding cows and northern men from the Empire falling out of windows :-) We played 3 games of Mordheim and I’ve really enjoyed the Beastmen, however singularly you need to be when playing them!
Game 1 was fast, and my opponent heavily armed...4 archers & 3 riflemen. On top of that there are 2 combat heros and a couple of spearmen...we deployed in the ruins, Ross Howard (@rossymagic): https://twitter.com/rossymagic?s=09 took the high ground and proceeded to take pot shots at me while the ground units marched towards me across the table…nothing was stopping my Gors, I stormed through the centre of the table, shrugging off any hits from bow and gunfire and my CentiGor charged the Wizard and took him down...following the charge the CentiGor made another charge and eliminated an archer. Ross’ general lept from the top of the tower he was perched on and charged my CentiGor while my Chief and BestiGor cleaned up the spearmen and combat heros. End of the turn, Ross’ Northlanders routed and fled the battlefield.
Between games Ross spent his winnings on re-recruiting the dead and I saved up for another hero!

Game 2 was very different! We played a mission in which we had to capture buildings. Ross deployed very well and focused his heros together and captured buildings with his foot troopers. My battle plan was much less focused. I shot my CentiGor to the right and followed him with my Sorcerer and 3 Gor, specifically to capture buildings. I then proceeded to roll impossibly badly the whole game!
My Chief and 2 Gor ran left, took cover from the ranged fire and failed initiative rolls for 3 turns. CentiGor charged and took out both Ross’ general and a foot trooper while my 2 Gor and Chief charged Ross’ heros and got destroyed over 2 rounds of combat.
Game ended on turn 8, Ross holding 3 buildings, I had 2! Post game was very similar for Ross as he re-recruited the dead while I purchased a new Gor hero! My Chief was wounded and must miss 3 games! Nooooooo!

Game 3 was a smash up game. We redeployed the terrain and this game was short and brutal. The humans were killed to a man and in cleanup Ross had a hero die. Again he spent his loot on replenishing his ranks while I bought another Hero, had a trooper promoted to a hero and now I’m only without my Chief for 2 more missions…

Really loved playing with the GorHerd and for AoS I’ve decided to paint up about 25 SCGT Comp which will have 10 BestiGor, 10 Gor, 3 BullGor(minotaurs) and a Beastlord.

About a year ago i bought a small job lot of Beastmen on eBay. Nothing major and nothing new, just some old models really. I specifically wanted it for the 8 metal PestiGor. These models are pretty old now but are from a time when Beastmen were originally given Marks of Chaos. The models are twisted by Nurgle and all pestilence, cloaked, hooded and wielding double handed axes.
I'm really excited to paint these though and doing these as a small warband, not even a full unit in AoS, means I can spend some time working with them and expand as I can find more on eBay.

So I'm playing my first game this Saturday and obviously that means writing a list. My end goal is to have a unit I can just add to my AoS games I'm looking for about 10 models total. As uploaded in other posts I'm using the PestiGor models which came out in 2003. these are mostly mono-pose with only a couple of sculpts. I own 5 PestiGor & the command models.
In Mordheim I will be using the Champion model as my Beastman Chief, Musician as my Sorcerer and will paint the standard to match for the unit in AoS. I'm then using the Pestigor as a unit of Gor initially & an old Minotaur and Centigor for some fun in the game. In theory these will also just be part of the unit for AoS as it will give the unit some more variety if a slightly too large footprint.
So, because Mordheim is more story driven than its older friend Warhammer Fantasy, here is my Warband so far...
Beastman Brayherd Chief & Unit Champion BorGor Han-An
Beastman Brayherd  Sorcerer and Unit Musician Hatat Nan
Beastman Brayherd Centigor & Unit Filler Urootman Kas
More to come soon, please post comments, questions or just general internet advice(abuse)

A Mordheim warband is pretty simple to put together and because I have this small number of models that I'm not modifying it really makes my choice easy...
Chief, Sorcerer(using the musician from the unit) 5 PestiGor and a Centigor. Not much to paint and nothing to modify. The biggest issue I've had was to stick them to round bases, which was pretty easy!

I'm specifically going to base these the same as my Skaven I brought to SCGT 2016
