Something interesting: It looks like Lord Kroak isnt the only undead Slaan. Lord Kroak is described as strongest and oldest of the "Relic Priests" but there are others like him.

    From the battletome page 23:

This was a thing in the old WFB lore too.  Page 10 of the Lizardmen Army Book has a blurb indicating Lord Kroak was but the first such slann-mummy.  Also, if you play Total War: Warhammer II (MINOR SPOILER AHEAD) and consider that at all canon, a relic priest showed up  in that game too.

My copy of the new book won't arrive for a few days, but I love seeing little notes like yours indicating that GW brought back a lot of tidbits of old lore.  It makes me feel like my Seraphon dudes are even more connected to the Lizardmen dudes they used to be :)

Interesting that Warhammer Legends is on there along side actual "product lines". I don't recall them actually taking time to really announce new stuff moving to legends other than a Warhammer Community post around the time a new battletome that drops old units comes out. Probably going to have the Empire, Dwarfs, Wood Elves and High Elves going to legends, but maybe they'll finally give us a clean cut off of what's going to Legends and what should be safe to buy in the near future and fully do the rest of the legends armies, especially Ogres and Slaves to Darkness since they're the last factions that haven't gotten a full AoS treatment. I was finally going to buy some maneaters because I assumed that being in the GHB with the new mercenary rules made them safe(I'd stopped buying all non-battletome models, unless I plan to use them for other games) but the removal of Dwarf cannons kind of kills that theory. Points for Legends are probably too much to hope for, but battalions and spells lores and faction special rules would be neat, just something small the the GHB allegiance abilities would be neat.

My irrational hope is that they'll update the Empire and Bretonnia Compendiums to allow a whole lot more "counts as" stuff for the new Cities of Sigmar battletome, and move the old Empire and Bretonnia warscroll collections into Warhammer Legends.  And maybe do the same for Tomb Kings.  (Examples:  Men-at-Arms would formally count as Freeguild Guard; My newly departed Freeguild Archers could count as Crossbowmen or some other Mortal Archers; Tomb Guard would formally count as Whatever The New Death Faction's Infantry Are, etc.).  I suggested this to GW during the last Big Community Survey.

I know they won't do this.  Lore difficulties aside, I accept that GW wants me to buy new things.  They don't want me to avoid buying new things by playing the new game with my old things.  But at least for a few days I can dream :)

    Hail blot toad!

What do we think about firelance going up in points? Seems a strange one as it's only used because you have to for draco, on its own it's pretty weak.

I'm pretty sure a lot of battalions went up in cost to account for the extra command point they give. But otherwise I think your description of that battalion I accurate :)

Could this mean we might see Luthor Harkon back? I know he died in the End Times, but vampires kind of do that a lot before resurecting. + he was a mortarch.

Maybe!  He was "Mortarch of the Abyss," so even in that state he was nautically inclined.   I can only imagine what that mini would look like now.  Presumptively spooky.

Also, apparently in the End Times, Mannfred betrayed him to his final death.  So, if he does come back, there's some built-in intra-faction drama ready to go!

Friday evening sees ‘The Pete and Andy Show’, as it has become known! Pete Foley and Andy Smillie get together to talk about the news and new releases from the studio over the next few months. Previously in this kind of seminar, we saw a preview of Shadespire a good 7 or 8 months prior to release, a new edition of Warhammer 40,000 was revealed and, most recently, at the Nova Open they showed off models and information about next year’s Warhammer Age of Sigmar releases – so this is certainly not one to be missed. "

Those announcements were a huge thing. They're setting the bar for themselves high on this one!
