I think they are on 32s. I think who ever made the picture thinks they are on 25s but I’m on the same page as you due to how big they look.

We’re pretty sure they’re on 25s, because if they’re on 32s then the Stalkers are gigantic. I think everyone’s confused because of how detailed the models are, but I think the scale in this photo serves well to show their size differences.

IIRC it was the same person that made those unofficial NOVA photos said he made a mistake.

I don’t remember ever seeing that, but those NOVA photos clearly show a character on a 32mm next to them and they have smaller bases. Also we have a side by side comparison from official photos earlier in the thread that shows pretty clearly they’re on 25mm. Maybe they’re 28mm if the stalkers are on a 60mm base. But definitely not 32s

With the showing of the mounted general, i think that is a sign that they will be next.

The last space marine release is confirmed for October and Ossiarch will be a multiweek release. With only two preorder weekends left in the month it’s either:

A: Ossiarch week 1 on the 19th followed by Space Marines on 26th and the rest of the Ossiarch in Nov.

    or

B: Space Marines on the 19th with Ossiarch on the 26th and beyond.

B sounds a lot more reasonable to me.

I'll definitely be getting some bonereaper stuff.  Apart from the book, I'm not sure what though.  Waiting on points & rules before I decide.  Hopefully there's a functional Arkhan list to be had out of it.

It’s a weird design space to include Arkhan and Nagash as what kind of caster could you include that would make a difference in that environment?

I have to guess that they won’t be as powerful as the big two, so they’ll either have to provide some other form of support (rezs, buffs, etc) or maybe the primary buffs for the army will focus on prayers rather than spells.

  5. I feel ya on going ham with preorders, I did that with nighthaunt, but I don’t regret it. For the Ossiarch I’ll be traveling for the two weekends I expect them to be rolling out on, so at least I’ll be safe from going too heavy on the preorders and just getting the book till I get home.

My guess for the rest of the year:

    12/10 we know

    19/10 Phoenix rising

    26/10 bone reapers for 2 week's

    9/11 new marines

16/11 chaos battletome and maybe ogres

    23/11 sisters for 2 week's

    30/11 Xmas stuff

Sprinkle in some boxed game stuff and set.

The Marines release is already confirmed for October.

Id expect Ossiarch to be three weeks at least.

  7. For October we know there will be at least one more space marine release and the eldar psychic awakening. The first two underworlds expansions are a safe bet for a soonish release. I really think Ossiarch won’t start until the last weekend in Oct and will at a minimum be a 2 week release, but likely more given how stretched out all the other releases have been this year.

So the foot soldier warrior guys I heard somewhere they had head options that didnt have noses, is that confirmed? I know its kind of silly but having your basic skeleton looking guys with noses kills it for me.

You can see them in the preview video with all the models in rank and file. No idea what the spread will be on the sprues, but it also seems that they're on 25mm or 28mm so traditional skeleton heads may end up fitting nicely on them.  Won't know for certain till we have the models in our hands though.

  9. I wonder what the differences will be between the Stalkers and the Guard. I imagine the guard will give up some offensive power for whatever effect our shields will have (please don’t be +1 save vs rend -!). The Guard will likely have some form of wound intercept as they’re described as protecting characters.

I also wonder what the difference between the quad-wielding Stalkers and the dual two handers will be. It doesn't appear to be a unit champion since it likes the champion markings on the chest. Could it be a 1 per 3 option or could we field a whole unit of just the two handers?

Watch their terrain just be a wall that you can only use the gate to get through

They've also got some bone pillars with mini pyramids in the background, but they could just be part of the wall kit. There's also a plastic tree limb with birds coming off of in the scene with the Reapers. Lots of little things in the background.

  11. Here's the collection of original rumors for those that might have missed them as things get buried pretty easily in the rumor thread.

    Tomb Kings are coming...

...and they are a shooting army.

Before the new year, possibly as early as October.

I wouldn't make the jump that it is "more skeletons".  I don't know exactly what but we'll probably see them lean into the constructs pretty heavily.

Honestly no idea how the pieces fit together. If they are aligned with Nagash, it wouldn't surprise me (this is speculation) if they bundle it as Nulahmia, under Nefrata's control. If they did this, the aesthetic is already present and she would have the lore of Death constructs given her past. This doesn't seem like a far reach.

Alternatively, they could do something completely new with either Katophranes, or historical TK.

So it might not be a construct heavy army, that's just a potential that Thomas isn't 100% on. The fluff could also (and likely will be) different. These won't be the Tomb Kings of old.

  12. Kill Teams was a massive success and kept the 8th Ed. wave rolling last year. For people with limited time these smaller games are huge. I think Warcry is going to follow in those footsteps and end up being a lot more popular than people give it credit for.

Re: expectations of new battletomes, id be wary of believing there will be 4 more battletomes this year. Ive followed the rumours as  closely as anyone and never seen a named source for this - it feels to me like rumour reverb.

It's not rumor reverb, GW themselves stated there'd be at least one more tome for all factions this year. Whether they are able to deliver or not with the 2 month delay caused by the trade dispute is the question now. We'll hopefully get clarification this weekend.

    Re: Battletome/Open Day Expectations

I don't think it's too far fetched to get some announcements about the main game itself, Age of Sigmar. While Underwolds and Warcry are under the AoS banner, the majority of people in the hobby are here for AoS, not the side games. I can understand that GW hasn't really been able to share much in the last couple of months due to the trade troubles, but with the release of the Sylvaneth does that mean it's all settled? I hope so, I'd love to see what's next for Death.

  14. I found the list that placed 11th at Heat 3. It was piloted by Will Rose. Note, the list was made under the GHB2018 and is no longer valid because the geminids increased to 60pts from 40pts.

Allegiance: Death - Mortal Realm: Ulgu

LEADERS Tomb Herald (100) - Skeletal Steed

Tomb King on Exalted Chariot (460) - General - Command Trait : Master of the Black Arts

Scarab Prince (80) - Artefact : Sword of Judgement

    UNITS

    6 x Skeleton Chariots (280)

    6 x Skeleton Chariots (280)

    6 x Skeleton Chariots (280)

    6 x Necropolis Knights (480)

ENDLESS SPELLS / TERRAIN Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (40)

    TOTAL: 2000/2000

EXTRA COMMAND POINTS: 0 WOUNDS: 138

  15. I really hope you're able to find his list as it's amazing that TK got that high (4-1) at a major tournament.

I think chariots are a given in almost any list as they can put our ridiculious numbers of attacks, but the biggest issue I've seen is the lack of rend across the army. I've wondered about the Necrosphinx vs a Warsphinx vs Necro Knights. A Warsphinx and Necro Knights benefit from being Desert Legions so they get the +1 to wound from a Tomb King on an Exalted Chariot Settra and can be buffed by a regular Tomb King as well for Righteous Smiting shenanigans. I'm leaning more toward the Necro Knights myself.

How have those scorpions been performing for you? I don't own any, but they're beautiful models and think they'd be great at character/war machine hunting.

  16. Horrors out damaged Flayers until you got down to 2+ rerollable saves. Now that flayers got a small damage boost it may be closer, but because of the ease of rerolls on the Horrors they’re far more consistent in their output and consistency wins games.

  17. The stampede is a lot better than I originally gave it credit for. It has such a high movement you can get it behind enemy units and then if you lose control of it, they have to risk moving it back through their own forces to try and punish you with it.

With how many horde armies there are in the meta right now you could potentially get a pretty devastating 'charge' with it on the turn you set it up.

The wall I put on par with Shackles, perfect filler if it's only 20pts. Not that useful if it's anything more than that.

I'm not quite sold on the chalice, sure it has the potential of providing a lot of healing, but on your turn you're likely not going to charge a king into a combat that's going to leave it reeling while at the same time having killed a ton of models to heal it back up at the end of the turn. It will at least cause your opponent to question whether or not they want to engage one of our big guys if they can't kill it in one go.

For the throne, I like the model and I think Archregent's will be mandatory, so it's at least always a free command point. Nothing flashy, but at least it's reliable.

Maybe this was mentioned before, i'm sorry in that case.

But taking a closer look into this image:

    LVOStudioPreview-Feb7-BoKBattleshot29hvr

You can see the BoK fighting against the Deathrattle. Do you think Deathrattle will have his own battletome this year?

Don’t get my hopes up like that! Lol

I would love a death rattle battletome with the return of Krell riding some giant skeletal beast.

On a more positive note, that spell buff from the ghoul emperor, while not the most reliable, sounds absolutely sick.  The 'entirely within' wording, while expected, will be a bit of a hassle.  If the competitive scene ever starts running ranged attacks again it might be a bit tricky to keep him around long enough to actually get much use out of him, but that can be said for plenty of other models that currently have little trouble justifying themselves despite extreme vulnerability to ranged attacks - Arkhan sprining most swiftly to mind.

The other drawback being that the buff is a spell, and thus subject to unbinding.  Somehow I doubt the new FEC book will bring much in the way of casting buffs, so getting it off might be a bit tricky.  Speaking of Arkhan, maybe ally him in, and use his ability to borrow spells to cast the buff with a +2 bonus?  His CA could also help with the "wholly within" issue.  Though, again, your vulnerability to sniping would be pretty high.

In terms of ally synergy, I wonder if they're going to add the 'summonable' keyword to any FEC units.   It would be nice to be able to use vanhels on ghoul & horror units w/ an allied necromancer again.

The spell having a 24" range (even if wholly within) gives a lot of room to work with in keep the regent out of shooting and unbind ranges. If they don't give FEC anything to help with casting then I know I will for sure continue to include Arkhan in my lists. With so much emphasis on the magic phase lately, you've got to ensure you're getting those critical spells off.

I do hope they'll do something to make allies a more interesting choice for FEC, as it stands now they're missing out on the best ally choice (Vamp Lord for +1 attack), Necromancers are pretty useless to them atm, and the only decent choice is Arkhan and maybe a corpse cart for bonuses to casting if you can't fit the Mortarch.
