    I don't think he means that masterclan heroes must be used for this.  They should be masterclan to generate additional command point.

     

    The alliegence ability for masterclan is :

    command ability, roll a dice. On a 5+ you receive 1
    extra command point.

     

    So when Thanquol use his command ability, you spend a CP (which can generate another one a 5+) and then, each other masterclan heroes that use his free command ability given by Thanquol can generate another CP on  a 5+.

     

    Clever use of a not so clever writing. The masterclan ability should read :

     

    "Each time a friendly MASTERCMAST spend a command point, roll a dice. On a 5+ you receive 1
    extra command point."

     

    Cause right now,  when Teclis cast total eclipse,  when you spend 2 command points for a command ability,  you can only generate back one.  Can can't roll for 2 CO spent. 

     

    Highly specific but well.

  2. Currently having some issues with the recent FAQ regarding Thanquol. Having 4 flamer provide 4 dice per ennemy model within 8" or just one?

     

    The FAQ does read :

    Q: If Thanquol on Boneripper has more than 1 Warpfire 
    Projector, can he make 1 attack with each one? For example, if 
    he had 4, would he be able to make 4 Warpfire Projectors attacks 
    and roll 4 dice for each model in the target unit each time? 
    A: No.

     

    What's your input on this?

    So... the Soulstrike Brotherhood give +1  ranged attack to any sacrosant unit that turn if ANY unit from the vanguard hunter is on the battlefield when they drop. With that in mind, that mean that each Castigator unit will be shooting 36 attacks.

     

    With the Hurricanum in range, that could mean 36 attacks, 2+ to hit (re-roll 1 for good measure), 3+ to wound, -2 rend (with castigator Aetheric Channeling). The two balistas are only here for grazy.

     

    Efficient shooting? Check.

    Wonky list? Check.

    Efficient? Probably not. 😄

  4. The second list I have in mind. 

    This one include the Draksworn templar. Another useful object. Less drop and a minor healing and a minor MW input in one turn.

     

    I'll be trying this version this week. I'm not too fond on the previous list with the Umbral Spellportal. I feel I'm paying 130 pts for only one spell causing D3 MW (which can fail). Also, Kroak can cast it multiple time but the portal only allow 1 spell per turn.

    In comparaison, the Drakespawn templar always give me another obect and reduce my drops. Maybe trying both lists  will set my choice in stone.

  6. I wonder if people are considering the Briar Queen in their list.

     

    Considering the whole crew is 150 pts, it make a speedy wizard with a nice spell around 102 pts and 6 guys to hold objectives.

     

    What's your take on them?

    I don't expect (hope!) change except the "cannot be taken in LoN".

     

    The unit by itself is not problematic. It's the "bring it back for one CP" + "4 graveyards" that are problematic.

     

    I just wish for a point overhaul in the ghb '19. Many nighthaunt units need to be re-evaluated in term of point cost. Or even battle roles (Glaivewraith stalker as BL).

    Chainghast come to mind, as many people already discussed here.
