I suspect Whitefang was implying a wide selection of new Stormcast units, some of which will be physically big in size.

I’m getting ‘classical’ vibes from the new Stormcast designs, so maybe a celestial war-elephant could check the ‘big’ box?  (Always been a fan of models with a howdah)

  2. Willing to bet al my unpainted mini's on an Indomitus kind of box for the new edition of AoS. Later followed by the full 'Getting Started' range of products (Small, Medium & Large starterbox, Easy to build kits, hobbysets, magazine etc.)

Luckily fear of missing out isn't that big of a deal for me, but I can imagine for some it might be. However, even with Indomitus there was a made-to-order afterwards right? So in the end everyone should be able to get their box (just keep in mind to not spend your reserved hobby bucks on something else in the meantime ;) ).

Also really curious about the 'new breed of evil' in the box. It seems the Hobgoblins-rumor/video ('Hobgoblins are in the box, we can confirm, Hóbgoblins are. in. the. box.') might be off target after all. Personally still liking the idea of 'tribal' Gitz instead of Fimir-ish creatures.

Anyone willing to guess a date on which potato-cam strikes true? :)

    I'd disagree with this take.

This is no longer the issue now, but I don't think it's accurate to characterise complaints against AoS/SC as just disgruntled Fantasy players :)

Good point, I might have formulated a bit too stark, thanks for pointing it out.

As i mentioned above their tactic to "marinify" AoS failed as stormcasts aren't as popular as they wanted them to be, so now you got the occasional release box with a new chapter. Also i believe stormcasts are the reason behind not getting a proper human faction all these years...

Interesting take on things. I always thought that due to the huge span of the Mortal Realms it would be undoable to design a 'general' human faction which would fit all of the realms. Stormcast Eternals being a liberation/invasion force fits more easily in the different realms. (don't get me wrong, I'd love some new human models!)

Aside from that, I truly believe a lot of 'hate' the Stormcast Eternals get has to do with those who played Warhammer Fantasy, saw 'their game' end and now still see these 'Sigmarines' as the embodiment of evil.

If we get more stormcasts this means that GW needs some serious competition on the wargaming area, so they can stop releasing more of the same thing (stormcasts/space marines) and diversify the release boxes. 😪

You sure? I think the so-called Stormcast overkill is a bit of an community thing. To me Age of Sigmar’s releases come across as relative diverse: new factions, revamping older factions and several ‘splash’ releases (heroes/special characters).

(I get this statement on Space Marines, but as said before: TGA isn’t the place for that, boring, discussion)

The whole 'MYSTERY SATURDAY WOOOOOOO' thing is already a big hype-builder. Everyone's projecting what they want to see on it and getting excited.

Good point. Might explain (in hindsight) the wave of disappointment after a preview-stream. In my eyes, the collective speculation in most cases overshadows the actual content being shown. (kinda like how community-theorycrafting about Game of Thrones' ending made the actual TV-plot seem very (very, very, very) shallow)

I get the urge to hype the streams from GW's perspective (get those clicks/viewers going), but in a broader perspective WarhammerFest used to be 'just' a weekend-liveblog with some previews which are now spread out over a week.

I'm thinking along the lines of a devoted of sigmar equivalent with 1 in 4/ 1 in 2 stormcast.

Human knights that hope to be turned into stormcast. New war priests and possibly flagellants. Witch hunters could fit in too.

Take this hero as an aesthetics example

This could work, isn’t there an auxiliary chamber left?

However, it might seem a bit strange to have ‘just’ humans in the starterbox for a system in which the stormcasts are the main ‘good guys’ & big part of branding of the system.

Hey man, Stegadons in Thunder Lizard offer some good shooting and fairly reliable melee damage with it all being on 3s. Skinks are ideal for screening though struggle with bravery outside of Starbourne. I certainly think a list with a Skink chief on steg, a couple more stegadons and some skinks for objectives would work, your main issue will always once your skinks are dead the scenario. As AoS is soley scenario based, it may prove hard to pull out a win.

Thanks! I Agree: objective grabbing is definitely a pain with this list, but also a nice challenge. Currently thinking for first 1000 points:

    2 Chiefs on Steg

1 Starseer (might give me additional cp each round & adds some magic to the army)

    2 x 10 skinks

    1 Steg

Would you advice on the bows or the Gunfire Throwers? And which equipment for the skinks?

    Thanks!

  9. Seems like a wise choice.

I always thought the weekly release schedule was mental, both from a hobbyist's perspective as for the people planning worldwide stock levels.

It's understandable that those whose main hobby is all about decent quality content creation (or whining about) new releases will suffer. But in all honesty: the online worlds of Warhammer could do fine without a few less unboxings or 'this weeks pre-orders & what do they mean for the future of the hobby' videos ;)

  10. Looking for advice/experiences from Old-Ones that are willing to share any about the following subject:

Playing with the thought of collecting a Thunder Lizard/ 'all' Stegadon army. Found some general write-ups already but also very interested in personal experiences playing an 'all' Dino-army.

Idea is a Stegadon army with maybe two small groups of skinks for screening & objective grabbing. (first goal is 1000 points to get a few games in)

Not looking for tournament-winning lists, but just like anyone else would like to at least be able make my opponent at least struggle a bit for the victory.

    Thanks in advance!

I would say 90% of the issues with Finecast is the weakness of things line fine swords (Eldar looking at your power blade on the autarch,.. which happened to me) and the initial release to get the product out was terrible and that we can thank the mismanagement of Kirby for.

You can return and or exchange any defective product.  GW has phenomenal support (except digitally).  If you get products you are unhappy with return them for a refund or exchange them.

I would say for Kroxigors you are probably safe for a mostly good sculpt.  If you aren't going for best painted on the model will it really matter?

    This!

Don't get too scared because of the online horror stories about finecast or in cool guy terms: 'failcast'. Most of the grave issues with this product occurred during it's first installment. Nowadays it's mainly the fiddly parts that are a pain (but in all honesty, so are they in plastic or metal).

In my experience ordering at a flagship store will make it easier in case you have some issues. I'm a great fan of supporting your local gamestores, but in this case you could make an exception.

Kroxigor are still awesome models: hopefully you'll have fun painting them! ;)

  12. Hey fellow Beardfans,

Since the re-release of Bugman I'm toying with the thought of an Duardin force.

However, has any of you ever tried to combine the Fyreslayer heads (without plumes) & Dispossessed bodies (Ironbreakers, Longbeards etc.)? Do they fit?

I can find several successful kit bashes between Fyreslayer & Kharadron sets, but haven't found any of the above mentioned combinations. So just wanted to check if there isn't a huge difference in size for example.

    Thanks in advance!
