  1. Any faction that can get free points with summoning is going to be a problem eventually, and having each faction that can summon summon a different way is just going to lead to a year of loophole whack-a-mole. I can already think of several situations where Slaanesh's method of generating summoning resouces could be abused with just what we know now.

Also, the number of easy puns and lame double-entendres associated with Slaanesh are just two of a whole host of reasons why slaanesh is and always has been the worst part of warhammer.

Lets say you are playing death, and you get some killer spell rolls to give your opponents units -2 to hit, -2 bravery, -2 attacks, and you have a unit that was buffed by damned terrain for +1 to hit . Especially if you are in a bunch of combats that you know are in your favor now, why not allow your opponent the double turn, which could lead to you getting a double turn, rather than give up all your buffs to take one turn, which could lead to your opponent getting two?

Its a rare case, but if the game is going well for you its better to let your opponent take a double turn to set yourself up in the long game.

It's always been my opinion that the most powerful use of the double turn is to deny your opponent good use of it, rather than just using it yourself. A good double turn is rough to go against, getting the double turn and doing nothing with it is a guaranteed loss.

There could be a slight change to his ability that you can use all abilities twice

That's not a slight change, that's a cataclysmic upheaval. Seriously look at the command abilities available to all factions and ask yourself if you'd want to have to deal with the type of nonsense stacking 6 of them would create.

Then imagine them going of twice. There is NO way they're doing unlimites command abilities.

This doesn't look to be anything more substantial than the guessturbating people(myself included) are doing around here.

This is a comment on lady atia's blog speculating on the boxed set contents that got hijacked by someone and fed to faeir as rumors.

A safer bet would be that all the stuff in the previews is what's in the starter set.

    Where do you read that

In the slaves to darkness article they said that Archaon's command ability isn't going to change and is still going to be one of the most powerful in the game.

To me that implies that, while each hero can use their unique command abilities, only some limited number will be able to do so per hero phase.

if it looks at the viewer, it isn't a lion in heraldy, but a leopard. So someone doing it must have not know much about heraldy.

Am not sure, people around here still call stormcast, stormchads. And the slyers are called  strippers etc. Some names are picked up, but very often if a things gets named it sticks. I mean how many people call their  dwarfs steamhead duradins?

The stormcast stuff seems to look very stormcast, maybe the quad arbalist looks a bit w40k. But am not a stormcast player, so I don't know. Any army of mages/priests, or even just units of those can be very powerful. Or at least that is my expirance from poaying against tzeench a few times. I hope GW is going to make khorn stuff too. Maybe some range units or a behemoth like the ones marines have in w40k.

None of the guys in your group were in Toronto recently were they?

Since we are getting a new Mortarch (it's a her, possibly a returning character like Khalida or someone entirely new?) I'd expect the new start collecting to come with those Skaven (or whatever they are) spectres, about 10 of the new battleline looking dudes and the Mortarch. Optionally, the mounted Knight of Shrouds may be replacing the Mortarch in the box. What are your thoughts?

That we have a solid year before what's in the new death SC! matters?

yes, but the twinboobplate was unnecessary. Especially after the good design on the two female SE models.

Stormcasts have sculpted abs on their armor. If ever there was an army where boobplate would be appropriate, it's stormcasts.

Yes female stormcast. Look up one of my posts about new starter RE female stormcast from about a month ago ?

I'm mad at myself both for missing a juicy rumor tidbit like that and for having to do work to make up for it.

Surprised noone here is discussing this picture.IMG_20180512_132709.jpg.4587992d7e0a1eca574961d845ccd519.jpg

The new picture of a female stormcast suggests they are looking at the rumoured new starter set.

Just 6 or 7 hours till we find out.

Provided that is in fact a female stormcast, that is now my favorite thing about this hobby

I know this not the point of the thread but I can't resist the bait...Kristen Stewart  has become a great actress! See Adventureland, Clouds of Sils Maria, Still Alice or Personal Shopper.

Holding that horrible vampire fanfic against those poor poor actors just seems cruel at this point.

IMHO, to get that kind of reaction it should be a big scenic display... and what kind of display?

One showing the new stromwizards, battling the new death minions... OVER A STORMKEEP!!!!

that would make everyone gape... and will tick all boxes/rumors: new SC, new death, new AoS, new magic supplement... with new scenery.. which is a safe place... a “calm before the storm”...

    please... make it true! ??

    cheers

    AJ

Not gonna lie, a stormkeep sounds freakin sweet.

40k is getting it's 21542651st Imperial faction and you think it's Nurgle they're pandering to?

Oh please, do go on. It's not like chaos has gotten more releases in the past twoish years than the entirety of the Imperium and Stormcasts put together or anything...

So if you have an old army don't worry because you can be forced to start a new army? This is exactly what people are afraid of.

Idoneth Deepkin involved starting a new army, Daughters of khaine can be played using 0 plastic models. The question is where are the chips gonna fall for your stuff?

New stuffs gonna come out, old stuffs gonna go away. It's the sad truth of Sigmar for the forseeable future. It sucks that GW aren't being more transparent about what their vision of AoSs future is, but really the only thing we can do about it is not buy stuff.

Though, if people are honest with themselves moving to narrative only isn't any huge loss. It's not like 99% of the models that aren't going to carry over were relevant anyway.

Aren't the Brets and TK already sort of wiped out of matched play due to their rules being so weak in comparison to their points costs and to the amount of special rules and synergies the new armies have?

Warhammer games have indeed been always army building games, but everyone doesn't still build their armies on pure efficiency. Some people also enjoy building thematic collections and have suitably thematic battles with them.  This kind of rules are for them and they don't take anything out from the people that enjoy different kind of gaming.

Technically Tomb kings are still kind of okay? They got demolished in the 2017 GHB but they were far and away the best army in the game at the time so even getting knocked down super hard they're still usable.

Chaos is all about freedom, liberty and passion. Each god originally was mend to represent certain aspects of humanity and humanoids. Over the years the representation evolved, but in general its still all there. It's  similar to the way Sith are portrayed, wrongly seen as evil but more about not following strict codes and rules. Skaven on the other hand are, well, rats.

Chaos has an 8 breasted ant-eater snake, a roid rage bat ogre, a walking infected zit, and whatever the hell a mutalith vortex beast is supposed to be. I don't think it's about any of the things you said it's about.
