  1. Hot take … they should have gone the Warmaster route with TOW if they wanted to capitalize on the TW:W popularity. I’ve still got a lot of stuff on square bases from WHFB that I convert to AOS as needed and I do have some love for the Old World still (started in ‘87) but I can’t see video game players getting into the complexity of the old rules systems. Being able to recreate the massive armies of the video game with a quick and easy rule set would have made more sense to me.

  2. Can anybody think of a reason why I couldn’t use the “There’s no reward without risk” footnote for my ironclad that has the Battle Ram? Because rolling 3d6 on 4+ MWs is very crunchy but want to make sure I’m not forgetting something.

    Yes, and remember that it's a set-up and not a retreat (embarked units can't move). So, you can shoot/charge after disembark.

    Yeah once I thought about it some more it makes sense but I’m new to KO so a lot of their shenanigans take some getting used to. The way transport vessels work is totally unique so I am having to rewire my thinking a little. Like how units embarked can still fight and shoot makes my brain short out until I put it in terms of garrisoning. Thanks for your feedback.

    Wasn’t thinking of doing this in the movement phase but it is an interesting tactic.

  5. I didn’t check other regions but any idea why BOC didn’t get cards released with the new book? They did the same with DOK but all other books have come with the card sets. Strange …

  6. So the consensus on the Harbinger is that he isn’t worth taking? The Shudderblight ability is pretty good (if successful) and the d3 CP in the first round is very thematic so I can see a place for him in specific lists. I just don’t know if 140pts is too much as I don’t really care most of the time when I build my lists whether it’s worth it’s cost. Just seems pretty good as a support hero for frontline units.

  7. I’ll be the outlier here and say that I am excited for the new box set as those are two army’s I’ve always wanted to get into but there has always been something I needed for my other armies that got the gaming dollars instead. So there’s one box sold :)

  8. Maybe the Beasts are being added to the relevant Chaos faction (Maggotkin, Blades … etc) so they can benefit from specific god abilities and add more unique variants like what they’ve been doing with Gors? Just a thought and would explain their absence in the recent articles.

  9. Not to ruin anybody’s fun but maybe we can come up with a format of post that actually has rumors in it instead of folks geeking all over each other.  Something like ...

    ++++++++++++++++++++++

    insert actual rumors here

    ++++++++++++++++++++++

    That way folks like myself who keep falling for increased post counts in this thread can quickly scan through and ignore irrelevant posts. Just a thought.

  10. If they can do a passable job of explaining the why of flying sea creatures then I am all on board. The Feculent Gnarlmaw mechanic is a good example of how they could do this and I look forward to seeing how it plays out. Just struggling with what I’ve seen so far.

    Not that there needs to be one in a fantasy setting, but had anyone heard an explanation for how these sea creatures a flying through and breathing in air?

    This ... I like the models well enough but can't wrap my head around the flying aspect. Had they been leaping from waves or positioned in a leaping manner then I wouldn't have a problem but these aren't jiving for me. The hero with the wave cloak is a pimp though.

  12. I may be reading this wrong but that letter looks like someone trying to hide something and blaming it on Troggoths. Not that Troggoths couldn't be a part of that army but that letter just reads like "Whelp, you guys were right about it being Troggoths so no need to look any further. Nothing to see here!"
