1. This is separate with a caveat.

First off, this is GW's intro to get into the competitive game circuit. And no... AoS and 40k are not in this league. They can also be competitive games, but not in a traditional organized play way.

Now, to answer your question, this game complements AoS but AoS does not complement Shadespire.

The models that are designed for Shadespire will also get Warscrolls for AoS. But AoS models will not be ported into Shadespire.

In my opinion, while its great to have the flexibility of models between several game systems like GW usually does, its also refreshing to have these stand alone products.

2. Lots of items are no longer available on the GW site, do you think this is just reboxing or is there more to it than that?
(grots, dispossesd, hexwraiths, graveguard, slaanesh, plaguebearers)

Just a reboxing from what I've read.

3. Looking at that Generals Handbook 2017 cover... I WANT to believe! But there is just something that doesn't look right....... most GW cover art has something else going on in the very background. But in the above pic its just clouds.

4. No new models, but I've been working on my Wolves of Ghur battletome and today the printed version finally arrived!
I should clarify that the cover artwork is not my own. I have tried tracking down the artist to no avail (if you recognise it please let me know)

5. Fixed [emoji6]
Me and bottle speculated it was probably a typo and could do with an FAQ. That was just our opinion and not based in fact, however it would be most strange if just those two units had a minimum unit size of 10!
Re Warhammer Fest, you can follow these Twitter accounts for live updates across the weekend; @the_black_sun (for AoS) and @Triumvirate40K (for 40K, if you're interested).

Gah! My apologies. Thanks for the fix!!

6. Anyone have any idea when the GH2 is gonna drop. Hoping seraphon get a points reduction before my next tournament

Honestly... while a points reduction for them would be good, I'd rather hope for a new Battletome with the Tzeentch book format treatment.

Why go for the apple when you can lay claim to the whole orchard. ;-)

7. My mate does historical re-enactment, and is also an Armourer. They are surprisingly agile in full plate.

It also says in the article she is more agile and able to parry and strike back out of her turn.

Yep. I can confirm. I fight both professional and competitive medieval combat in full armour for over 18 years (as well as making some) and can assure the doubters that you most definitely can be agile While wearing plate.

Good to see others on hobby gaming forums. :-)

8. Personally, I too like the more "realistic" approach with the LoTR models line. So totally understand where your coming from there.

One thing to note: the LoTR scale is smaller than AoS. 28mm compared to Warhammers Heroic scale which is now like 32mm or 33.

That said, most tourneys allow conversions of sorts.. though you are looking for more counts-as I think. The good thing is, if you want to play in GW sponsored tourneys or even their hobby centers, you'll need GW models... which includes their LoTR and Hobbit lines. So I think you'll be all good there.

Some tourneys, not all, go with wysiwyg. Keep that in mind with weapon choices on warscrolls.

9. I have an interest, but unfortunately not much time. I am knowledgeable in Brets.. were my favorite and most played army from 4th edition (1994) through End Times. Still have my classic and current armies too. This wouldn't be cool to see.

10. Going over some numbers from 2 years ago, I have:

Bretonnia 6000+
Dwarfs 4000+
High Elves 16,000+
Dark Elves 4000+
Wood Elves 4,500
Skaven 5000+
Orcs & Goblins 10,000+
Empire 4,000+
Ogre Kingdoms 4000+
Lizardmen 6000+
Vampire Counts 4000+
Tomb Kings 4000+
Chaos Warriors 4000+
Demons 4000+
Beastmen 4000+

Plus my AoS armies:

Death 3500
Stormcast 2500
Iron Jawz 2000
Sylvaneth 2500

And then theres my stashes of unopened kits (two 30 gallon leaf bags full in my garage... and countless boxes just on sprue).

Ummm... I may have an addiction.

11. Thats a good hoard! :-)

Well, I've got 15 Warhammer Fantasy armies spanning models from 4th through End Times. My smallest army was about 4k naked points. Largest was over 16k.

Since 8th, Ive also collected a Bloodbound, Stormcast, Sylvaneth, Iron Jawz, and a 2nd Death army with even more models not including my 8th edition ones.

I have somewhere near 40 unopened kits and twice as many kits on sprue.

Thats also not including any terrain pieces ive collected from Fantasy or AoS.. which is quite a bit too.

So... thats just my Warhammer Fantasy AoS stuff. Still have 40k, Infinity, Flames of War, Star Wars X-Wing, Armada, Imperial Assault, Glory WWII, Hail Caesar historical, Malifaux, LoTR Battle, Necromunda, Mordheim and others.

12. The funny things about Blood Bowl is that even non sports fans find it so fun they become crazy about it. You need to try it once before dismissing it out of hand.

Im not much of a football fan so this genre and overall aesthetics of a game doesn't interest me. Not saying it isn't a good game.... on the contrary, I hope it exceeds expectations as I'd love for GW to continue updating and releasing more specialist games. And for the fans too!

13. So they aren't neglecting any of the factions... except for the ones they are? [emoji14]
Even with the AoS factions, some of them are already stretched wafer thin, like the Fyreslayers and the Bonesplitterz.
Not that I am in the complaining camp when GW announce a new Stormcast, but I can certainly see how some players feel their faction gets neglected.

It is my thoughts and opinions that GW is releasing factions as it pertains to the evolving AoS background. Last we knew... Slaanesh had ate most of the Elven souls. I think when the story catches up to Slaanesh, we'll have a LOT of Aelf releases.

14. Any info whats in the next WD issue itself? Fingers crossed for some new rules for AoS. Wonder if they will keep this trend.

Well... this about settles it for me. Im not a 40k player much as its not my type of game. BUT, it is a friggin comic. Add to that the cool AoS model in this month's issue, really good content, MORE content and not advertising, specialist game info.... damn it GW, Im gonna resub to White Dwarf!
