  1. Guys, has someone happened to see the full warscroll? GW mentioned in one of the articles heroes will include list of units they can assign to the respective regiments:

…so every HERO lists which units they can include in their regiment, as part of their battle profile.

But there were no units lists on the warscrolls provided yesterday.

    Rumored schedule:
    - Core Rules pdf released on first June week

    - Prerelease second June week

    - Release last June week + Spearhead pdfs

    - Index first July week

Well, a gap between core rules and indices is too huge. Like what are people supposed to do throught a month with just core rules released but without warscrolls?

Outside of the discount, local stores always just have a nicer atmosphere imo, official GW store staff feel very overbearing at times. For some reason the local GW store for me stopped hosting gaming and painting sessions for non beginners which sucks. Also as a mtg player it's nice to have one store/community to deal with for everything, I imagine it's the same for people who play other games too.

Agreed. It feels like GW staff is mostly obliged to do things that are coming from the HQ, so official stores often lack that atmosphere. Also, a couple of years ago I remember they also prohibited playing FW models, which felt crazy. So local stores are the best for me.

Well I like the idea that faction tactics are gone - they were quite imbalanced compared to each other and sometimes too stupid like when SCE had tactic which could only be achieved by CoS unit lmao. Instead, all the alliance tactics are now both balanced and hard. You know, throw 10 units to score all objectives, kill all enemies and be in each quarter. Hope they will be replaced in a manner of time. Universal tactics are still good though. Think this is where GW creativity to create something simple ends.

the theory is that they tend to make new models for an army in bulks and not one off (unless it’s the obligatory foot heroes) and  models release during the end of editions narrative supplements are sometimes teasing the future.

if it hold true it be

FS, Nurgle, Gitz (well they got 2 releases), SCE (well duh), Sylvaneth,  Soulblight, and DoK.

i guess for their sake we can count the Gorger release for Ogors to be in there even if Ogors didn’t officially get a Dawnbringer release.

IJ, FEC, and Slaves are questionable since they got full or big releases during Dawnbringers.

of course they maybe smaller releases like NH and Sylvaneth from last edition but just more then one hero (honestly I think NH stuff where actually Soul wars leftovers)

Having mentioned Ogors, don't forget Lumineth as well, I guess 99% they will get water-themed wave in the upcoming edition (at least a hero, a unit and an avatar with warcry band included in tome already).

Frankly I alway though it was because the underworld warband was super popular or something (I know during the Beastgrave era they where consider one of the strongest warband for Underworlds thaw game) that they made them into an actual unit for AoS and Gitz was the only place for them.

Yeah, kinda that. But the whole concept of GSG was raised mostly from moonclan goblins, so I hope we will see more classic greenskinz in future, maybe just gitmob tome or gitmobs combined with chorfs or orruks be it KB or some new orruks as well.

i think it could go 3 ways.

    1. is a general army expansion.  maybe a new trogg, new stabbas, an armored grot knight unit.
    2. is increase the gitmob stuff.  more wolves and plains grots, give them a hero and a chariot.
    3. is a spider refresh/expansion to make them fit into the army better.

i think 2 is the most likely personally but i also would like it the least; GSG is one of the most thematically rich and congruent armies in the game (even with Spiderfang) and i think that the Gitmob stuff sticks out like a sore thumb.  it's not bad, but i'd so much prefer if it was just it's own army without being forced to cross-pollinate with a completed army.  1 would be nice; GSG doesn't really need this but i mean i'll take it.  3 would be ideal, both by replacing old models but also working out the last few kinks in the army's aesthetic and really expanding on the insect theme of GSG which i think is wildly under-utilized.

Regarding gitmob release, I think it'd be better for them to get their own tome or be moved to KB. They differ a lot from the concept of crazy shroom-eaters and cave dwellers. Expanding their range within GSG tome will make tome bloat. I've always been wondering why they put gitmob in GSG army, unless it is just a temporary harbour. They don't even have synergy with any of GSG heroes or traits.

  8. I wonder why the article didn’t mention any unit limitations. Thought it was the key feature for matched play games. If GW really throws out any limits, it’d be awkward and maybe even unbalanced. Even 40k has 3 units each or 6 for battleline/transport

It was always a luxury item. I think you’re underestimating the human desire to buy stuff when they like a tv show.

I own a Sonic Spork because of a tv show.

    A spork.

Exactly. People are buying magic wands because of Harry Potter, yet they have no practical use and are not as fancy looking on shelves as for example some movies or anime figures. Good marketing can drive people buy everything just because the concept is too good. So I guess if Warhammer TV show succeeds then GW will see a major flow into its main product.

What can we expect for the preorder announce today ?

Is it too soon for the Lady of ruin? other?

It’s probably 40k week with rest of tau releases and maybe something for HH. Also considering Emperors Children have been mentioned this week, maybe CSM preorder is also possible.

We don't know what will be possible with CoS, nor what it means for the duardin, aelves and humans command traits, orders, artefacts.

What we do know that the 11 free cities are gone, which are replaced by 4 battle formations, With the SCE we know they have 4 battle traits and 4 formations. Will 4+4 be enough to replace all the cool stuff CoS 3rd edition had. I don't know.

So 11 free cities gone and one lore per army. While there was one for humans and aelves and prayers for duardin and the cool Lethis ability.

With their focus on streamlining and speeding up the game am I a bit worried what this will do with CoS. I can't say the signals that the greenskins are getting is very encouraging.

+ foot heroes still seem to be super squishy.

Maybe GW will just delete dwarves and get dark aelves moved to DoK index?

Giving the factions that don't have any their own set at last would be nice

Edit: if that is happening what will KO get I wonder, since they don't have any priests or wizards afaik, don't think there are any other factions like that

KO have aetheric navigators for at least unbinding enemy spells. And I hope they will remain spell in the bottle to have access to endless spells.

Also, I don’t know about allies system in 4th edition, yet if it is still there, we can access allied wizards and at least them taking common lores.

    Just a guess though.

It does not say this in the article. I would assume you get one each of spell, prayer and manifestation by default.

    It actually says that:

Endless spells and invocations are still in the mix – but instead of spending points to add endless spells when constructing an army, you can pick a manifestation lore. This grants access to a selection of endless spells and invocations that you’ll be able to summon in battle.

Which I understood as endless spells will have their own lore, which you also pick. But do you pick it instead or in addition - yeah, that's the question. I think it's too powerful to pick both and players should opt for one of them. Maybe thematic endless spells will be included in one of the army lores, but who knows.

If they channeled the spirit of Juan Diaz' metal daemonettes (minus the nudity, since I don't think GW would get away with that) in a modern plastic kit I'd buy... all of them?

Actually Fiends of Slaanesh contain nudity and they've been released less than 5 years ago, so everything is possible.

  15. Oh my god, I love how new Stormcast significantly changed the style with this new Darksouls-BlackTemplars-Berserkerish vibes. Must keep head cool and not start a new army, when the pile of shame is still so big. But I just can't - GW made a good work here. Chances I am going to start SCE are higher every new reveal.

  16. If we suppose that 4th edition box is to be released on 22nd of June, then we have around 7 preorders before that. Probably they are DB6 + Darkoath, separate Tau release, CSM, Kill Team and Warcry boxes and O&G + Dwarves for TOW. There can also be some filler preorders with some made to order stuff etc. But I don’t think there is any reason to delay Dwarves as they fit perfectly one of preorder slots before end of June.

What do we expect for today's preorders? It gotta be DB 6, right? The lack of DB short story made me doubt it.

It’s either DB 6 or Dwarves in TOW. I doubt there will be any 40k/KT related preorder so soon after this week’s Orks and Custodes.
