I understand end times but was 40k 8th fluff bad? At the time I don't remember people disliking the narrative of the great rift, plague wars setting for dark imperium was cool and I enjoyed the vigilus campaign books, psychic awakening was a bit of a nothing burger but I liked the set up for 9th and the necron null space zone by the end.

First Primaris, GW said that Chaos can't touch them, that Cawl have cure every legions problems (Bye bye Black Rage, Wulfen and other), that they are nice.

I can say that community hated them.

  2. Well, first of all I would like to extend my condolences to our Stormcast, Beasts of Chaos and Bonesplitterz players.

For me, the reason for all this is quite simple:
Tom Kirby. Yes you know the boss of GW until 2017.

Small reminder, GW prepares the games 3 to 4 years in advance.

So Tom Kirby, he ordered the End Times of Battle, the 8th and 9th edition of 40K and the start of AoS 1th BUT ALSO 2th.

Yes, V2, released in 2019, two years after his departure but already ready since 2016 if we follow the calculations. The same goes for the 40k V9 which was prepared in 2016/2017 to be released in 2020.

So, this guy who simply ordered the entire Fatcast range (the Stormcast 1th and somewhat 2th), left. But when he left, there were still 3 Stormcast Chambers to open, and knowing that he seemed to enjoy it since he had only OPENED 3 in the 1st edition (4 Battletome Stormcasts in 1st)

But also the Primaris V8 and V9 and their simply WRONG fluff.

We therefore note a pattern, bet everything on SM and Stormcast, and write lousy fluff (AoS 1th, End of Times, 40k 8th)

But he left. And what do we see now with several years of hindsight?

The fluff of the 3rd will make a huge stonk. the Eternals are finally beautiful and proportioned correctly, and do not come out in packs of 40. And the 3rd was not "we open a new room"
Old World was announced in 2019 for a 2024 release.
40k returns to solid foundations with mid-primaris, mid-firstborn Sternguard in terms of armor. As well as a simply rescale terminator armor.

My theory? Tom Kirby screwed up so much that the new boss wanted/had to correct all his ******. Quite simply, Old World is the panic to save the battle boat that Kirby sunk. AoS 3th and now 4th finally have a real solid artistic direction. And 40k returns to grimdark like in 7th.
and the Bonesplitterz/Chaos Beast? No one plays them, and it's too caricatured (may I remind you that the Wild Orcs are orcs from the South?)

And the Beasts of Chaos make thematic duplicates with several AoS factions

    Chaos Undivided? StD
Talking animals? Skaven do it better and funnier.
    Centaur? EVERYONE
Don't like civilization? Every faction of Destruction!

The only hope in my opinion is Morghur in a few years. But I wouldn't bet it.

Remember it’s a small team doing that stuff under the specialist studio. They don’t have anywhere near the resources like the main studios.

You’re looking at something like full Kislev in a year but it’ll take up any other TOW release for that year.

I didn't mean that, but if GW couldn't release today because of logistic and calendar, we can suppose that they could do it in the future, in one year when a Core Game will not require the half of the logistic, like AOS or 40k

Seem like there are still a few gaps in for Warcry bands for the season ahead - Gloomspite, Ironjawz, Idoneth, Beasts, Skaven, Khadarons, and Slaanesh at a glance

    GW give us GHR Human followers-slaves ! We need-want that Yes-yes !

For me it is the weapons. Specifically the handle. A weapon swap and done!

I agree, nothing except the weapons seems to be too futuriscal for us.

Hoewever, I have some doubt about it. It's like we add a Dreadnought Stormcast tomorrow, yes it can be cool and appropriate to the universe, but GW "already do it" for another one universe. It's like we are too bone-lazy to have our own ideas. I already hear the Anti-AoS from 40k and WFB talk about it. Same idea with the concept of Slent People.

I know it's irrationnal but I want that the others Warhammer Fans can see ours mini/armies and don't say with sarcasm "Yes a fantasy [insert 40kian idea]"

Except that, I could buy Mandrake for Chaos Daemons ( I don't really play so I don't care about rules)

Is it me, or you could easily kitbash the new Mandrakes into sick looking AoS models for use in a DOK army or even as Chaos elves ?

In 40k lore, they might be Eldar/Warp spawns (I don't know how , and I don't want to know!) or Eldar were felling too deep in a corrupted Web part, or something like that. So it's definitly something linked to warp

Oh...wait a minute ! We have a race of SHADOW DAEMONS and a Warcry warband of DoK possessed by SHADOW Daemons ! It's unexpected !

Lol imgaine if GW actually know how to write destruction ..idk about you, but Era of Beast was ment to be all about them..lul

Actually, GW doesn't know how to write Nagash too ^^ I mean, yes, the Necroqake and the skaven thing is perfect because Nagash is too megalomaniac to change his plan. Yes, but after that ? Nothing and he die from the magicals and dirty hands of a Elf ! And I don't speak for Arkhan.

One day may be Arkhan would recreate the friendship between Nagash and Sigmar

I Can’t believe it’s Easter Saturday and they’ve not shown anything about a New Grombrindal.

The two are in no way linked and we have 0 confirmation or even a rumour about a White Dwarf model but I still can’t believe it.

I thought that Dwarfs/Duardins are given at birth by eggs yet. I am disappointed.

  9. During that summer, I think that GW will release a 3th Warcry (not because the game is bad but because of money) at Aqshy.

As 2th was at Ghur during Era of Beasts. So, what can we imagine about that ? ruins of Phoenicium ? Skavenblight at Great Parch ? I would do everything to explore Skavenblight !

  10. I really appreciate that idea. But I seems that Warcom Article wasn't very clear hoewever. In some discords, I see non-AoS Players talk about the fact we will need to buy 6 book for only PtG ^^' They doesn't understand that a module will be only a chapter in the corebook.

They're just winks and side notes, not even central to the intrigue as well. ;)

Novelists write what they want, doesn't mean everything is actually meant to be representative of the official AoS lore.

You have right, but Zuvassin is central to the Shadespire novel.

Yes, the Novelists do and write what they want, but until Games say the opposite, it's canon in my opinion. And for the time, GHR place and the Aetheric Dominions seems to be in tune.

Khorne doesn't hate his existence itself, he is angry and want blood from anyone. But he doesn't hate Chaos.
Tzeentch have always a plan behind every mutantation, where Morghur mutate every he touch without form or idea.
Hashut is also in tune of Aetherics Dominions. Neither Khorne or Tzeentch can his place.

Yes, Games can change all everyday. Zuvassin will probably not receive an army or a new god will take his place (Archaon is becoming a Chaos god Anti-Chaoc ? Ironic) but we can hope.

Not really, they were also side notes in the old lore and don't appear in the current canon.

Wrong, Zuvassin is..mentioned at Shadespire novel

    Spoiler

He is the god that seems to be the origins of the shadeglass, and of the city. Zuvass his herald, works to awake Zuvassin.

And Necoho is mentionned him and his atheist book in another book.

s malal no longer a thing in warhammer? He fits chaos against chaos

Is no longer canon, and Necoho/Zuvassin are/is (I have a small theory that say Necoho/Zuvassin are the same guy) his successor as Anti-Chaos God.

Hashut is certain, as we already have Horns of Hashut, and Chorfs are all but guaranteed.

Morghur seems pretty likely. A gavespawn faction to replace BoC if they leave would make sense.

That would leave only one - Could Vashttor come over from 40k, or does he not rShow Replyeally fit?

If AoS Chaos has the same lore than 40k/Horus Heresy. So we have eight Aetheric Dominions : (source : Ogh Mat-things from Horus Heresy)

    Putrid Corruption : Nurgle
    Infernal Tempest : Tzeentch
    Rapturous Sensation : Slaanesh
    Heedless Slaughter : Khorne

And we have four another dominion between each one of the Four Gods. :
Malevolent Artifice : technology and warp so Hashut at AoS/WFB (Vashtor at 40k)
Encroaching Ruin : Hunger and Ruin is GHR
Formlesss Distorsion : mutations, gavespawn so we have Morghur here.
Ravenous Dissolution : The chaos which hate himself : So Necoho and Zuvassin (confirmed at AoS lore)

  15. Azyr is the place where the stars are. If you look the sun at Aqshy, you will probably see Hysh (and some others suns like Ignax the Sun Drake). If you look the sky and the stars, you see Azyr. The "space" between two stars is the void. So imagine that Azyr is at the top on the Cosmos Arcane, while Shyish is at it bottom. While Hysh and Ulgu do a race between each.
