  1. Kragnos novel is probably a direct result of nobody wanting to buy Kragnos himself.  GW is trying promote him and make people like him but eh.... I honestly understand them and happy for people who like Kragnos, but for me he will always be an unnecessary and bizzare addition to destruction.  (not to mention this is 160$ model that costs 720 points in game and can die to a blob of sentinels/snakes)

  2. Surprised by new DoK bt after only a year, unless of course GW suddenly needs more money. (ah...now old art is starting make sense, not saying it's bad or a it's bad decision). I honestly thrilled to see something else than Morathi+snakes. It make sense to release IDK and DoK together, people may want to buy some allied units. Also new DoK bt = Malerion faction foreshadowing.

Most of that sounds like guesswork and wishlisting.

Even more so as there is no mention of kislev which we know they are working on.

Kislev is niche faction and obviously nobody is going to release Kislev first. They can work on kislev yes, like you know, making a concept art etc. IF you want profits you are going to release your most popular factions.

There were the Rumours of a Duel Box between BOC and Gloomspite, within it containing a new Jabberslythe model and Spiderfang Hero. So maybe this is true?

I'm all for it but it seems like Whitefang did not approve it with his 'Confused' emote. So it must be fake.

It more in line with that white dwarfs are meant for fun and being temporary rules for your army. Not meant to update you for the whole edition especially since they don’t last long as a publication until they get vaulted into the app

my more main gripe is with Broken realm being uneven with rules compare to PA and even outright skip a whole grand alliance and Khorne, but even the small thing armies got in the book where pretty much useless when 3.0 came like 3 month later.

I mean fun upgrades for armies are great and all that but atm we are living in a world of troubled economy where cutting expenses is a real thing. Were previous WD faction updates just fun though? GSG have been released in january 2019, GW realized half of the faction doesn't really work that well and updated them in 3 issues of White Dwarf (455,457,459) eight (twelve) month later with basically entirely new additional battle traits, CAs and artefacts and with whole new set of battalions for more than half of the army.  Now they don't work again since warscroll battalions and +hit stacking have been removed. If I, as a customer would buy a GSG battletome today, i'd literally end up without half of most essential rules for my army. Is it time to release a battletome? Maybe, even if GW won't be able to sell many new models with it. (GSG models are one of the best GW ever produced though). My point is WD is a place where GW updates their armies with new stuff while FAQ is where they fix their old one. It's not just a shiny new magazine anymore, it's like a mini battletome and you can actually sell it.

Same thing with STD, their last bt has been released in december 2019, (with new shiny start collecting box and endless spells). Later turned out nobody wanted to actually play STD with new Warcry cultists, GW introduced Idolators in Morathi book, idolators sucked and in Sep 2021 WD GW introduced two new battle traits (and even core battalions) for your entire STD army where you can now use Warcry cultists with a mark in every allegiance as a battleline. (because new huge warcry box (and maybe a new core book too) is around the corner.). I mean someone can call it fun new rules, but i'll say GW updating rules to sell more new and old models. (not strange at all since GW goal (like any other companies goal) is maximizing profits).

In Augusts WD GW updated rules for Seraphon. Another example of updating  more or less strong army in the third edition. More units are now playable (monsters).  Another example of WD being a mini patch for a battletome of a faction without re releasing a battletome. (their current book is from Jan 2020).

I personally would not expect new battletomes for factions that have been updated in WD recently. The purpose of these tome celestial articles is to buy time for GW to produce new models to sell them later with new battletomes OR to patch units(models) that don't work very well with their armies (for people to buy these models with better rules.)

ardboyz  How do they tend to play best?

    Spoiler

ard boyz are battleline with 5 models minimum. so you can reinforce them up to two times. i.e they can have maximum 15 models in a unit. Sometimes it can be pretty hard to use ardboyz unit that big thanks to 3.0 coherency rules and their 1' range weapons (they can't fight in 2 lines). (i.e. they need quite a lot of space if you want all of them to fight, you also would have to postition them in a certain way 1' form 2 other models each if  more than 5 models in a unit). I personally don't really think that all of this stuff matters in casual games with your niece unless she's a veteran AoS wargamer. You can find some info here, Ironjawz section is more or less regulary updated.

  7. Visually Malerion and it's faction are going be more or less in line with DoK and old FB elves imo. There were 13 kingdoms of dark elves (Thirteen Dominions) in Ulgu before Chaos invasion and Malerion ruled over all of them. Literally an empire of dark elves. I have no doubt that some broken  elven souls form slaanesh will find their way into some horrific forms thanks to Malerion. (in line with medusas)

    Quote

The Melusai were once the souls of aelves devoured by Slaanesh. Upon being freed from that hellish incarceration, their energies were portioned off to Morathi. There, in the dungeons beneath Hagg Nar, these souls were mixed with shadow magic and Morathi’s own blood to be reborn, reshaped in the image of their creator. The lower half of their body is that of a serpent, scaled and coiling with fierce strength, while the upper torso is indistinguishable from that of a female aelf.

Creppy shadowy stuff can be related to something else in Ulgu though.bAFObl8.png

But honestly i doubt it. GW just filling new giant fantasy world with content and looks if it sticks in the community.  (silent people in beastgreave etc.)

  8. I'm looking at unit of Gutrippaz like on a unit of  Savage orcs. (literally the same profile): 180 vs 165 points. Savage orcs can do exploding hits on 6 to hit and mortals on 6 to wound in Icebone. Gutrippaz deal mortals on 6(5+) to hit.  Both of them can recieve +1 to save from a wardok on 3+/swampcalla. Both of them have +1 charge and +1 bravery. Savage orcs have 6+ ward. Gutrippaz can debuff enemy unit  with -1 to hit in charge phase in 12'. (not hero or monster, but most monsters/heroes don't want to charge them anyway). Bonesplitterz Waaagh allows you to have 4+ ward in combat phase, Morks Eye Pebble allows you to have 4+ ward in enemy shooting phase.

Gutrippaz mortal wounds can do double damage with a Sludgedraker. (just think about it, with luck one MODEL of gutrippaz is capable of inflicting 2-4 Mortal wounds, do you want to take a chance charging a block of these guys?).

Gutrippaz can improve their armor save for up to 2+ if you know someone is about to charge them this turn. (swapmcalla +1 save, Mystic Shield +1 and AoD +1).  Imagine you are charging into 20 2+ save gutrippaz while having -1 to hit debuff on you.  They will survive and they will hit you back. they can have 3+ save with 5+ VEW as well.

The 'problem' with gutrippaz comes form a common kruleboyz feature of being a very synergetic and slow faction. If you don't recieve a buff from a certain unit you feel like you are missing something. Also since these buffs are pretty strong and their range is limited they force you to position your units together in one big more or less tight formation. You have to be wholly within 12' from sludgedraker,  in 3' from a swampcalla, wholly within 12' from belcha banner, wholly within 18' for Waaagh, wholly within 12 for Morks Eye pebble, maybe even in 3' from kilaboss. (you have to pick many units as well - point wise)

It's fine when you are against more or less melee armies - you are slow, they are charging you, you counterpunch them into oblivion with waaagh. Enemy casters can be more or less countered with swampcallas and belcha banner (this can be a bit dicey), Kruleboyz are weak against strong shooting armies (not surprising this is meta problem), they can outrange you and kill your main guys (sludgedraker, swampcallas, boltboyz) after that, your gutrippaz are not scary anymore. You can more or less counter this with egomaniak/amulet of destiny on sludgedraker or try to supa sneaky troggoth to take your opponents unit down (with various degree of success) or just try to survive with Grinnin blades clan for first battleround and Morks Eye pebble for shooting in second one. My 2 cents.

Warcry: Red Harvest will see our pre-order weekend promise in full effect, so if you order a copy this weekend you’re guaranteed to get one. We’ve made plenty of stock, but if we run out we’ll make sure we make you one. It may just take a little longer to arrive.

  11. It seems like rulebook is included in Red Harvest book.

    Quote

Alongside all of these models, you’ll also get a 104-page Warcry: Red Harvest rulebook. Contained within its covers are lots of pages of juicy background about the setting and the warbands in the box, as well as a slew of rules for quests and campaigns. You’ll also find the Core Rules, meaning this box is the perfect place for new players to jump into the brutal world of Warcry, as well as a brilliant expansion for existing fans.

Jesus ****** Christ, $210 for red harvest?

Come on man. Not sure I can even afford that given my holiday budget. What an absolute bummer.

I mean it's expenisve yes but it's kinda in line with other GW stuff. 20 new models , 10 for each side (+ spiders). Old Warcry bands  are 30-32 £ each (9 models). So it like what 60-65  £ ok maybe 70 £ because new and more numerous.  Previous books were 20-25 £.  Three sets of 6 GW dices (18 total )how much is this? Previous sets of 16 are around 15 £ on amazon (probably 5-7 £ in UK). Last but not least HUGE plastic set of scenery (that actually looks good but kinda has a very specific thematics? )is it worth 30- 40 £ more ?  (the other huge piece of scenery was  Sigmarite Mausleum for like 60 £ ).  I have no idea. Maybe! if you are buying it then building it and playing it with your family for years, if not...eehh.

    Guys another question:)

About redeploy . Immagine a unit finish a move within 9" of a unit of 3 gruntas( unit a) I got a maw crusha in range with that unit of grunta and another unit of 3 gruntas ( unit b) When I use redeply i move first unit of gruntas( unit a) in range of 9". When I can move the second unit(b)?. After i move (a) or when my opponent finish a move with another unit in range with (b)? I hope you understood my poor english!:)

You can move all three of your units if all of them are within 9' from enemy unit that just finished it's movement. You can't move units that are out of 9' from that enemy unit. If all three of your units are within 9' you move all of them after they recieve a Redeploy CA. (each one of them were in 9' when enemy unit finished it's movement - each of them can recieve a CA) If there is only one your units is within 9' you move that one unit and you still can use Redeploy 2 times later in that movement phase. (i.e when other enemy unit will end up near your unit, you will be able to Redeploy)

This looks like something fun. How many points would this be?

Honestly i have no idea, last time i checked Untamed beasts were 70 for 8+dog, darkoath chieftan and queen were 90 each and Godsworn Hunt warband was 90(5 of them + dog). And new Warcry band looks pretty numerous as well.

I really want a darkoath force, and hopefully that can be done at some point...many years ago they talked about a potential darkoath release and would love it so much! Update marauders, give a few monsters...

There are so many of them at this point, GW is trying to capture that barbaric savage feeling of Conan/Red Sonya movies of tribal humans without much chaos influence going on. Not sure if it's enough for an army. They look like great marauders though.
