Instead of allocating damage points to a model in a unit, damage points are now allocated to the unit as a whole. When the total of damage points allocated to a unit equals the Health characteristic of that unit, the commanding player removes a model from that unit, but they must stay in coherency.

If you have a 3 mini unit who each have 6 wounds, and I inflict 5 wounds, does that mean one mini has 1 wound and the others 6 ? Or the unit has 13/18 wounds ? Or he can split wounds between models, like all models lose 1 wound and 2 lose 2 ?

its more just the exact same as is now just the little dice you stick next to "this guy has 1 wound left" and removing specifically him the whole unit holds the wound dice and when it gets to 0 you pick a dude then to die and start counting again. All it is basically doing is stopping you needing to keep dice next to a specific guy  which can be bumped around mid game

Juan Diaz's sculpts were distinct because at the time, GW's female miniatures were...let's say "a bit crude".

Let's be honest : it's because they were sexy they were loved.

Plastic daemonettes were as thin, but also went back to the old daemonette definition : androgyneous and with a disturbing physic that creepily appeals to you. Juan Diaz daemonettes were only about female curves and sensuality, they didn't feel like "creepy demons" enough IMHO. They gave a misleading feeling of what daemonettes are in the background, still IMHO, but for people who have known them, it was going back to the old daemonette vibe that was "wrong" - understandably.

I still remember people making jokes about their "dancing poses" when they were played in Warhammer Battle : all lifting one foot in perfect unison in close order formations. :P

to me the actual best part about diaz daemonettes was the posing, I like the new aesthetics for them just the posing on the new daemonettes is the issue, they are static. To me the best slaanesh sculpts are the fiends that balance the "wrongness" with the "sensual" they are odly elegant but feel off. They keep enough monster bits to be horrific but offset it with the wierdly femmenine legs that make it more akin to a silent hill enemy. I want daemonettes to get resculpted to keep a more offputting visual design but have a more elegant posing. The ones in total war keep better with the new design but have a more fitting vibe as when not in combat they are preening and posing.

  3. I have high hopes for how slaanesh could work with these

more "keep away" gameplay with blissbarb on foot and on seeker, chariots for crushing light infantry, Slaangors if they have enough wounds could actually end up ok at bullying through lines to get onto objectives with pull through. Keepers could also be scary with counter charging and pull throughs for good positioning

I hope slaanesh keeps its "make a deal" mechanic with temptation dice in 4th, its really fun and thematic but a little bogged down in (always offer and never take the offer), though think a fun improvement would be "if you fail a roll  the slaanesh player offers you a fate/miracle dice with a number decided by the slaanesh player to sub in, if you take it the slaanesh player gets to keep a copy of that dice and can sub it in for any roll" so if you fail that roll and slaanesh offers you a tasty 6 you can take it, but slaanesh player will then have access to a pocket 6 to bite you back later.

All I want from dawnbringers for hedonites, though I think HoS wont get anything as its more likely to be genetic STD and Khorne. HoS also were skipped when they did the god aligned warcry warbands (belekor got one over slaanesh) so im assuming we are on backburner a little until next edition.

BTW talking about models prices (instead of books)...

the MTO Battle for Maccrage is 90£... I checked, the original from 2004 was 40£ / 50 euros..................... That does not bode well for TOW prices.

It is a price hike, but tbf £40 in 2004 is just shy of £70 now so its a £20 increase not a £50. Dont know if GW also ups prices on these limited run MTO things

  6. Aos

    Flesh eaters

dawnbringers my guess is dok character and lady of ruin chaos girl, though my dream of boob snek lord continues for hedonites

    40k

    chaos bikers

    killteam

either vespid or the rumoured night lords vs dark eldar mandrakes

    underworlds

destruction warband though could be dok

    HH

assault marines (though would love sabres in plastic) and maybe a new campaign book, could see a tease of new army

    necromunda

finale of the arc, would be funny time to add spyders

    Old world

Hoping for most of tomb kings reveal, though I am kind of just expecting a centerpiece show, the last two rules reveals have been more hype than the model reveals tho

  8. predictions

    AOS

-1 more  cities of sigmar unit and launch box (5 of the cav, 8 of the dudes we have seen and the character +8 dudes with rifles, you will need 15 of them per unit and box works out to 250pts )

-a single new hero for the campaign

    warcry

-Fyreslayers warband, but its just 10 more basic dwarfs with awkward mirror copy paste bodies, but this time their big axe has some small fire effect on it

    underworlds

-new skaven team (the actual good reveal)

    Horus heresy

-New plastic sicaran arcus, a render of mark 3 armour + deredeo and if we are lucky lorgar empowered

    Old world

a 10 min cgi trailer by the total warhammer guys, that pans out to reveal that the new starter box set is all old models with 1 new character on each side

You raise a Point there. Why do Some Armies get the Character releases where others get Diddly. To Mind we Still need -

    Ushoran for FEC

    Morghur for Beastmen

Kurnoth for Not Chaos Beastmen/Kurnothi/ Sylvaneth

    Tyrion For Lumineth

Sigmar for the Stormcast (Get out there and Fight Old Man)

Malerion for Whatever Moody Elf Kids he comes with.

GW looks at the list and squats beastmen and kurnoth in favour of Lumineth Tree temple with tyrion

  10. TBH I think a major issue for AOS video games is they all take the graphic style of launch aos, everything's too vibrant and plastic looking, It doesnt help that they also go with hammers of sigmar which I think is the weakest colour scheme, all gold armour looks bad in animation, especially if its shiny and done in a lower fidelity game.  Cities of sigmar would do better as protags for a AOS strategy game I feel.

If they want to attract to the setting using stormcast I legit think going down the "stormcast are basically dark souls undead heroes" and have a 3rd person action game of some stormcast dude being sent to investigate some frontier Cities of sigmar town that has gone dark, when he dies he just reforges and deep strikes back in.

atm a AOS video game has to fight against the still held wider view of "aos is baby setting that they blew old world up for", I dont think bright and vibrant is a good choice.

Right, I’m building my 6 Slaangors today, and so help me God I’m going to try and make them work and then inevitably give up when I finally accept that they’re terrible.

They wont be terrible, I think they get better the bigger the brick and into certain match ups, they benefit from a lord of hubris for when they hit tougher enemies

  12. If im honest i actually think the masques true value is t1 euphoric killers vs good players, while slickblades are good a good player will set themselves up so that slickblades get a poor initial euphoric target lile going into either a true brick wall or a very low wound chaff. Thr masque can just go turn 1 into a backline archer unit and generate enough depravity and have a way easier time getting into good ek targets vs thr seekers

The Masque is great: Good assassin, T1 move blocking if the opponent plays first, intense thinking for the player when deploying

      Reveal hidden contents

Warlord Battalion with extra spell, Galletian Sharpshooters, Vanguard
The list can work with Godseekers and Invaders

Keeper General, flaming weapon and another spell (3d6 charge or no redeploy in Godseekers, Lash in Invaders), Best of the best + Icon in Invaders or Hunter Supreme + Girdle of the Realm racer in Godseekers
    LoP (support)
    The Masque (assassination)
    Epitome (support)
Sigvald (vs high armor + ward)

    10 chaos warriors for screening
    2*11 Blissbarb Sharpshooters
5 Seekers (for last battleline, hindering enemy movement, screening, soaking unleash hell)
5 Slickblades (for T1 DP generation) - Vanguard battalion

Spellportal (to counter the lack of range on many spells).

  13. The joy of nurgle is a manic one from wallowing in dispair, eventually his worshippers give in and see the joy in their suffering. To me nurgle is a stockholm syndrome god, his "gifts" are torture and a slow death, his "joy" is masking the suffering. He loves life and rebirth and the concept of his "children" but he doesnt love you individually just your role in the cycle. The harbingers of decay are there to keep the cycle going and are probably closer to nurgles true goals.

So this preview made me really excited for two things that were not revealed:

    1) If they can make a new plastic Knight then I feel like another Gargant Sculpt is not off the table

    2) With the Harbinger in plastic what are the odds of getting the whole gang together in plastic?
    Daemonic_Mounts_Warriors_of_Chaos.jpg

I think its likely, mounted hero is a clear weird missing gap in slaanesh (mounted lord and a skirmish light melee mortal unit are legit on things missing) I was actually more expecting that the only "new" kits chaos will get in the old world would have been the classic lords
