I don't think GW is in the habit of confirming information about releases that don't exist, beyond the 'that's all for now' type throwaway comment we already got for Kruleboys.

i mean its possible with todays article ending with this: "Keep checking back on Warhammer Community for more information on when you can pre-order the book, these dragons, and perhaps one or two other surprises…"

  2. So I've been thinking on hobgrot and the old lore of hobgoblins being mercenary tribes. What are you guys thoughts that they might be closer to a sons of behemat unit and can be mercd into destruction armies? Maybe going a step farther and gaining the allegiance abilities. If that were a thing would they be useful then or still useless?

Stormcast dragons are up on WarCom, the Wizard one can get +3 to cast apparently......... they better be a lot more expensive than Gobsprakk,.

Just throwing a side note that it does say "up to 3" meaning it could be based on a roll or some other cumulative effect. Depending on the situation it could alot more variable then we know. I understand the want to feel we are shafted in this but we don't know the full rules yet.

Sorry @ zombiepirate I'm not trying to call out your post it was the most relevant for my response.

Funny! Yeah. I was thinking the same. These previews are done by people who clearly don't even play the game.

I will pre-order and hope you are wrong!

I honestly think it'd be difficult to give him more then 2 because any unbind is d3 wounds. Honestly even if he has 1 with his unbind ability that's fine because he can randomly delete casters with a lucky rolls. I think giving him +1 to unbind makes it too easy to hit the 10+ for d6 damage. As much as we want a great caster I bet sadly he will be kunnin and brutal as more of a battle caster with likely 1 unbind.

So with the rules article and no new model today, it's look like they revealed everything. How everyone feels about our range?

I'm honestly all for it. With boltboyz being a battleline option in yellers and the new spells already revealed I'm still completely happy to play this army. The new interaction between the sneaky miasma and the mount trait smelly un is nice as it gets you into fighting range without sacrificing the -1 to hit. I'm sure that some other rules will be good as well and while some of our stuff is very conditional I'm still excited to play it.

well there was a single new spell but yeah they are ok. Full battlefield stuff seems good and da black pit will do a few mortals into elites.

Nah we got 2 spells. Sneaky miasma giving a monster within 18 an additional movement. And da black pit which is a decent mortal wounds spell.

Is this mere speculation or is this information true in which case what is the source? Because nothing on the community webpage that I could find indicated such things.

Though I would love to see more stuff about the swamp boys

Speculative but I put out two fairly long posts with evidence why I believe it to be true. Also last week the community webpage didn't mention the dragon knights so that as a source is unreliable at best.

Any of those mechanics can be given to any unit in the battletome as we havn't seen the rules yet. I dont think it would require a special model. There are a bunch of vultures in the fiction with the mouth of Mork so it would fit the theme as its already been described but who knows.

Sadly to rain on this parade I don't think it'll be vulture cavalry if we get that. I feel they tried to push the vultures to a status symbol. I'm at work so I'll check further later but I'm pretty sure the group the ogor saw was stated as bosses on a tower. Maybe I'm wrong but I think we will be heavily limited to our 2 heroes for flying.

The point of having sub-factions is to give up the diversity of a larger roster in exchange for stronger allegiance benefits for the sub segment you have. In that regard, missing out on unit roles is entirely the point of sub-factions. When I make a specialized army, I don't want it to have diverse roles. I want to have the challenge of making the narrow scope of what I have work, with extra allegiance benefits as a tool to level the field.

But bringing things back to Kruleboyz, flying cavalry are not what they need and it doesn't fit their theme. What they need is high-offense ambush infantry with a deep strike mechanic and some sort of bonus based around retreats. That's the hole in the roster both mechanically and narratively.

But if Kruleboyz get grumpy chicken vulture cavalry I will still be super happy because rule of cool trumps all.

@PTB I don't think we've seen the whole Kruleboyz roster yet. I'm not even certain it won't be cavalry. I just think assuming cavalry right now is a bit premature.

I completely agree with that! I have my wants but if I'm honest the main thing I wanted was another infantry and a foot hero better then kb with stab.

Here's the thing; Orruks already have regular cavalry; boarboyz and morboyz. And monstrous cavalry; gore-gruntas. No, they aren't Kruleboyz but that's the point; not everyone gets everything.

Except SCE. They are the poster boys, they get everything.

I this is a fair point and would normally agree with this completely but I have a few arguments I would like to politely put forward before I go to work. Firstly while sce are the regular poster boys I would argue the strong focus in both games on orks this year would lead me to guess that we will not only receive a reveal but I'm going to place a bet on 2 units being revealed. Secondly while I agree that having a unit in another subtraction that can be used has stopped some armies it does not mean it won't happen. I'm not saying we will get cavalry but I wouldn't be surprised due to how easy it would've been for gw to just have an aos cavalry unit worked on while they did the beastboyz in 40k. And thirdly the argument many people have that we won't receive more just because they didn't say check back next week for more holds no grounds cause the dragons spoiler didn't mention anything about a next week reveal. I hold that logically there has been mirrored reveals because gw wants to start a new edition with 2 standing armies getting massive updates.not a single army getting a massive one. These will be the first battle times and as such I expect a very large release to bolster sales and excitement into the new edition. I don't believe that just cause sce is a poster boy means anything because we are in the era of the beast for a reason. More is to come and I stand by my statement judging not on wishful thinking but evidence provided.

  11. Gnashtoof is more likely I'd think but I guess an option (and this is wishful thinking) perhaps the hobgrot hero people were hoping for. I'd be amazingly grateful if we got 2 units and one was a hero that made the other unit battleline like the sce reveal but I doubt that will happen.

  12. Ok so going all the way back to the dominion box and moving forward up until today we had been within 1 unit difference with the sce. correct me if my list is missing something or wrong. I used more general terms for each but in most cases they matched up decently well. I used hero for anything that could be a general, totems for banner boys, artillery for anything I assumed was artillery, mounted for non-hero mounted units, and infantry to cover everything else (cause while we know some of the battleline we also know some will be conditional).

mouth of mork (hero) - blue dragon (hero)
kb on bird (hero)- red dragon (hero)
    Skumdrekk (hero)- bastian carthalos (hero)
    snatchboss on sludgeraker(hero)- knight relictor(hero)
KB on Gnashtoof (hero)- yndrasta (hero)
Kb with SG (hero)- Lord imperatant (hero)
    Swampcalla (hero)- knight arcanum (hero)
    Murknob (totem)- knight vexillor (totem)
    Gutrippas w/spears (infantry)- annihilators (infantry)
    Boltboyz (infantry)- Vindictors (infantry)
    hobgrotz (infantry)- praetors (infantry)
Gutrippas w/hand weapons (infantry)- annihilators w/2 hand (infantry)
Sloggoth (mounted unit) -/- Vanquishors (infantry)
Beast-skewer killbow (artillery)- knight judicator (artillery/infantry?)
Breakaboos on trogg (hero)- stormstirke chariot (mounted unit)
    (unpaired) - vigilors (infantry)

    after todays preview
    (unpaired)- knight draconis (hero)
    (unpaired)- Stormdrake guard

am I crazy here? I mean before today they only had 1 unit more then us? it seems likely we will get another reveal.

    Right, so...

    Kruleboyz:

    -Boss on monster trogg

    -Boss on swamp beastie

    -Named character on swamp beastie

-Bunch of grots on hunchback trogg

    -Bolt thrower

    -Boss on angry chicken

    -Named character on angry chicken

    SCE:

    -Named dragon

    -Named dragon

    -Named character on foot

    -Ranged hero on foot

    -Ranged infantry

    -Chariot

    -Dragon rider hero

    -Dragon rider unit

I'm not seeing the "equal amounts of each thing" personally, can you link it up to show your thinking?

An equal amount of spoilers is what I should have said. I'm sorry I have to respond while at work. I also forgot the lord on foot was named. But following most of what they have done we should get one more reveal before this goes to preorder. Almost every reveal (again I'm at work so checking this fact is hard) has been mirrored by a reveal for the opposing faction. So humor me if it's not cavalry what would it be? The only other rumor we had was the cavalry. And if this was the last reveal we would have gotten the preorder day.

What makes you think that? Just that the SCE got a cavalry unit?

If you check what's been given to each army since dominon it's been equal amounts of each thing. Even down to both armies receiving 2 new named heros and a semi equal number if units past that. If we are not receiving cavalry what's the theory on what we get. They will give us something as well with what they've done so far.

They'll apparently need all of those abilities because statistically none of them are likely to even work. Hell, even the Smelly mount trait doesn't give you the -1 to hit unless you get charged, which is utter nonsense since almost every other mount trait in the game is just a passive upgrade with no conditions.

It's honestly not a good sign, but hopefully the book makes more sense of it.

actually its just as long as that mount didnt charge in that turn. it is pretty easy to have this one active in long fights leading to a decent (but not great) buff.
