Been way out of the loop recently. Finally got some cash together and want to grab the new book and bolster what I've got.

Here's my currently available list. Would love some suggestions on where to take it.

    Leaders:

    Morathi.

Cauldron (can go all three ways)

    Ironscale

    Medusa/Slaughter/Hag (2 of 3, see cauldron)

    Morgwaeth

    Battleline:

    10x Sisters w/ bucklers

    10x Witches w/ bucklers

    Other:

    10x Blood Sisters

    5x Blood Stalkers

    5x Heartrenders

    9x Shadowstalkers

It's about 1960 in the app.

What other than the book and the spells are worth picking up and where to lean the build?

well as of right now you need to make either a medusa or ironscale your general to get 3 battleline. and id personally drop a hero cause you kind of dont have a lot of troops to absorb all those buffs. either drop the ironscale and go bloodwrack shrine or drop morgweath and go 1 hag couldron or slaughter cauldron. then use the remaining 200 points ish to get some more snakes or women

@Deadrixc I think a bit model light- you will struggle on objectives. I might cut one of the battalions. You'll still be pretty low drop. I'd also try to get at least one unit of 10-20 stalkers to use with Morathi's command ability. I might also go for a 15-5 split for the sisters to take better advantage of some of your command abilities.

Something like: Morathi x2, Bloodwrack Shrine, Melusi, 15x sisters, 5x sisters, 15 x stalkers, Vyperic guard, Bloodwrack viper.

Not completely sure these fit for the points, and even with these changes, it still seems a little too glass cannon-y to me, even for DoK. I might try to fit in the khainite shadowstalkers for some screens or something.

Yeah, I cut out the scathecoven as it wasnt really doing much for me and picked up another 5 stalkers instead. I do agree that this army is extremely glass cannon. The main idea is to push up so hard that deep-striking might not even be worth it. my only backline would be 2 x5 units of stalkers who are meant to sit on objs so my main force can be freed up to run into the enemy. while deep strikes could potentially kill about 280 points worth of shoot girls and backcap my objs. I feel like im already buzzsawing through their main force or im not fully committed yet and can deal with any deployment shenanigans. I feel like I have a good amount of gas to keep the saw buzzing too with Melusai ironscales CA and morathi's CA. And not to mention the absolute hoard-killer the shrine is. This army is going to be a very cat and mouse army due to how squishy my snake ladies are. Cause a mistimed charge could easily mean me losing most of my force. im not too worried about big shooting armies like KO,COS or LRL due to my fairly fast army. (ill just give the shrine a speedboost from the CA)

    Appreciate the Advice.

  3. Hey, im new to AOS and am going to be getting an army in the next month or so and really like the look and feel of DOK. (not to mention how cool of a character morathi is) I poked around DOK's warscrolls and battalions and this is the list I came out with. Any and all advice or tips appreciated

    Temple: Zainthar Kai

    Morathi-Khaine
    Spell lore: Mindrazor

    The Shadow Queen

    Melusai Ironscale
    Art: Shadracar's Fang

    Bloodwrack Shrine
    Genreal
    Trait: Curse of the bloody-handed
    Art: Crimson Talisman
    Spell lore: The Withering

10 man units of blood sisters (x2)

5 man unit of blood stalkers (x2)

    Battalions:
    Scathecoven
    Vyperic Guard

    Endless Spells/CP:

  4. Hey Changecasters, Im looking into getting my first army and ive always loved tzeentch's aesthetics. So I was wondering if you guys could help me build a 2k point list. Ive already made a few draft lists but I thought id come here first.

First thing is, Id like to play a mostly mortals army. Tzaangors and kairic acolytes seems really fun, especially when you add in battalions and change covens. also horrors burn through cash faster than warpfire through a nurgling.

Id probably be using either the cult of transient for changehost, or the pyrofane cult, both seem like interesting and different ways to play.

Any advice or tips are appreciated!

  5. Hail mighty Hekatos' (Hekatos's? Hekatosi? Hekatos?) Im fairly new to AOS and plan to get a full 2,000 points army in may. Ive done a bit of research on obr (lore, meta etc.) and fell in love with their cav! After seeing how slow and Mortek Gaurd heavy the meta is ive wanted to take my army in a very aggressive and cav focused direction. Im gonna post my list here and would love any advice you have to help shape my army in the proper direction. I should also mention that I dont intend for this list to be in any way competitive, but id like it to give another "standard" AOS player's army a run for their money

    Legion: Stelliarch lords

    Liege-Kavalos
    General
    CT: Twisted Challenge
    Art: Nadir-bound mount

    Arch-Kavalos Zandtos

    Mortisan bone-shaper
    Art: Artisans Key
    Lore: Empowered Nadarite Weapons

    Mortisan Soulrender
    Lore: Reinforce Battle-shields

10 man unit of Kavalos Deathriders (x2)

10 man unit of Mortek guard (Swords)

6 man unit of Necropolis stalkers

    Battalion: Kavalos Lance

The idea behind this army is fairly obvious. Buff the hell out of and make my Deathriders mop the floor. The first thing ill talk about is bringing Zandtos and a Liege. I personally love Zandtos' model and hes def a pet pick but losing the trait and the really good artifact by making him my general and not bringing the generic is too much of a loss imo. The boneshaper is to keep all the Deathriders in shape (haha) While the stalkers have the ability to (somewhat) keep up with the Deathriders and they provide the rend the Deathriders lack.  The soulrender and Mortek Gaurd are just what I had to do with my leftover points, maybe they can go get obj's and the lore on the render is nice to throw on a Deathrider unit but not make or break if it goes off. With my generous helping of 7 Disciplene points per turn I should be able to throw all of my liege's CA's at the Deathriders and maybe sprinkle some on the Stalkers here and there.

  6. As crazy and awful as it sounds, is it possible to build a deathstar type IDK army focusing on buffing and resurrecting namarti thralls?

Ive theory crafted a little bit and it would be the namarti corps battalion with maybe 1 extra soulrender. A leviadon and then an eidolon of sea or storms/maybe both?

A pretty big bubble of re-roll 1 to hit and wound on the already killy as hell namarti would increase their damage by a lot. Mor'phann enclave so im resurrecting a minimum of 9+d3 namrti each phase. along with the cover from the leviadon. soulrenders to herohunt and Storm aspect kills everything else. Maybe Lotann too since hes cheap and would bring namarti bravery to 10 and allow me to be more flexible and not have to pack so tight around the levaidon

Looks good... tactics might be tricky with very aggressive Attendants, which are not as fast as the Mordants.

Thanks! I plan to use the command ability on at least one of the attendants units so they can get properly stuck in

  8. Hey, im new to AOS and am making an FEC list as my first army. not looking to make a competitive list by any means (because this isnt a blisterkin list) but just wanted to see if theres any improvements you guys can see in the list. All advice appreciated

    Grand Court: Hollowmourne

    Abhorrent Archregent
    General
    CT: Grave robber
    Art: Dermal Robe
    Lore: Spectral host
(I know it would be better served to have my varghulf or haunter be my gen but then I would lose the benefit of the Attendants battalion)

    Varghulf Courtier
    Art: Flayed Pennant

    Crpty Haunter courtier
    Art: corpsefane gauntlet

6 man unit of crypt horrors (x3)

    30 man unit of ghouls

    3 man unit of flayers

    Battalions:
    Attendants at court
    Royal Mordants

The idea behind this army is to obviously, charge. I chose spectral host over deranged for my spell since I have a lack of flying and I honestly think I have enough mobility otherwise between the Royal mordants and the Command ability of Hollowmourne. Arts are pretty self explanatory, Flayed Pennant so I (hopefully) dont have to use CP on charges and dermal robe to make up for my only having 1 caster. I know flayers are generally better than horrors right now but I think their point cost is kind of prohibitive to the point where I cant fully surround my opponent with my charges like I can with this list.  The main plan is to just smash the Attendants right into the thick of it since they get perma re-roll hits and my somewhat surplus of CP will enable feeding frenzies with them. While the mordants get into the backline with the help of extra movement and spectral host, potentially getting the horrors on a unit of archers or a wizard. The arch-regent drops another varghulf in with the mordants or to back up the attendants if needed. I know the CT is kind of wasted on him but I think itll help him potentially not be assassinated by a hero with an art.
