  1. I dont see a reason for removing Bonesplitterz. The whole range is like 2 kits en a few leaders XD. They just got included in a battletome so they will at least be around for the duration of this edition.

Edit: (and if they ever get removed i'll give em some dakka and they will become snakebite boyz)

  2. I hope u are onto something here. I just hope it isnt a single random beast spider model release like the Sphiranx and the Fomoroid. I am saying this because the trailer could be a reference to Shelob when Gollum sings a similar song. Any spider for GG would be a win though XD.

Its Monday again which means we have another shot at a model reveal.

40Ks Black Templars have all been shown off as has the SCE and Kruelboyz UW Warbands so today could we see either a Specialist 40K game mini or could we see yet another peak at a new Underworlds or Warcry mini?

    Spiderfang hypetrain ! ! !

Certainly for the first two editions there was lots from designers of Underworld gangs saying that it was a place for them to practice and let their creative juices flow outside of major projects . Quite a few of the warbands at least at that stage were just Mortal Realms concepts that were not intended for release until Underworlds became a sort of vehicle for it.

I really like almost all of the underworlds models to be honest. I like them because they change up the look of the the army a bit instead of all the samey basic units. Now i'm at the point that i start buying the ones that i can ally into my armies.

Yes I have, first turn charges are completely possible so things start very fast. I don't think it works brilliantly in such a small space if I'm honest, I definitely think that for a proper game you're going to want to play on a larger board. We still had a good game and it was enjoyable, but even stuff that wasn't that fast got stuck in very early and there was little room for actual manoeuvre.

I guess 750 point games are the way to go. Anyone else had similar experiences?

I'm not sure if it works as well at 1000 points tbh...but maybe something like this in Icebone:

Wurggog - Master of Magic, Glowin Tattooz (warcry spell)

    Wurggog (rend spell)

    Wardokk (+1 to hit spell)

    Boarboys

    Boarboys

    Morboys

    Morboys

That's 89 Wounds and 970 points.  I'd probably take the Battleshock triumph and put it in a one-drop.

It's a lot of points in heroes though - the army ends up looking a bit lightweight.  Dropping the Wardokk wouldn't add much: it only gives you 110 points to play with, so you might as well have access to the save stacking when you use your Wurrgogs to stare.

Whaddya reckon?  What would you change?

What do u think about this? Could change 1 unit of morboyz for arrowboys to protect the prophets. Comes in at 99 wounds in warscrollbuilder.

  7. I want to ask if anyone has actually played a game on a 44x30 table with a 1000 points in this edition. With the increase in points i am wondering if this is any good. Does it scale well? I am planning on setting up a small table that can be used for warcry and smaller battles as my space is limited.

I did some calculations about this out of my own interest a while ago. I also tracked number of models because it allows you to get some more fun stats out of it: Cost to 2000 points, cost per model, models to 2000 points...

Not really much to add, though: On average, you will pay about the same for every army. Buying two Beast Claw start collecting boxes is the cheapest good army you can get. Nagash is the cheapest model in the game for his points that I looked at. For a while, the Necromancer had him beat, but with his recent point increases he's on the top now. The worst model/unit I found was the Gyrocopter, particularly in AoS 2 when a squad of 3 still got a horde discount.

The more i look at that Beastclaw Raiders box the more i want to buy it. I guess i'm a sucker for Destruction models XD. Too bad they dont really ally well with Orruk warclans or Gitz.

And yes i'm starting to notice that overall the value of 2000p armies are around the same value on average. Seems like armies that summon a lot of units get a bit higher.

I belive that currently there is no better deal money-to-points-wise than the SCE part of Dominion. Even when you pay the full price for it it is whooping 1400 pts for ~150€ including a full rulebook and some Orruks you can sell off or use as basing material. We talk about solid 1400 points, not dead picks.

I will 2nd that emotion on the Dominion Stormcast grouping.  Except that Stormcast are punks and 2 Start Collecting Beastclaw Raiders is the much much much better option.

Thanks for posting here but this isnt about getting the best deal available at the time :) .

  10. Do we think the releases of Warcry and Underworld models is any kind of indication on what armies we can expect next? StD have a bunch of warcry models and got updated trough white dwarf. Bonesplitterz/ ironjaws/gloomspite gitz/idoneth got some underworlds sets. Does that indicate they wont get any model wave any time soon? What other armies didnt receive any love of some new models releases?
