so they are able to communicate with the flesheater but the flesheaters see them differently through their delusion?

I don't think it mentions how they communicated just that they both committed to fight for arkhan and were marshalled alongside each other.

They believed they were gathering wood/lumber not bones and couldn't keep up with the increasing demands.

  2.  Very tldr version from my one read through, someone else probably has a better rundown(i'm not a lore guy):

Aftermath of uneasy alliance between FEC and OBR fighting lumienth forces where the OBR think of FEC as barbaric and a tool to be used etc.

FEC don't help the OBR replenish their forces, refuse to pay bone tithe as to them it is like tax collection

the FEC archregent asks to negotiate with OBR general. He accepts - they have history so is not surprised by it.

OBR general uses it as a trap using wagons that the FEC's delusion makes them believe are filled with exotic goods.

The OBR slaughter the FEC, the archregent escapes.

-- Again i'm not a lore guy i don't know how major/minor the characters are. To me it just seemed like infighting/civil war in one area, happens a lot in other stories. The obsolete line is rough though. Do obr usually think they are above all the other death faction?

  3. Im surprised if it is happening, the teclis book is containing FEC rules so why would they publish rules for a faction getting squatted within months. Unless the gravelords are much later in the year, maybe post AoS 3rd ed.

Secondly how would they work in a combined book. They are all deluded because they share the same bloodline. If they do a mixed vampire book would they add passive abilities to each warscroll or a big index of alleigeance abilities for each vampire bloodline? Im guessing we would just lose feeding frenzy completely, it just seems like a whole lot of written rules going to waste. Though in a way i can understand why - we have like 5 kits. I would have preferred the range expanding instead, its not like death have too many armies right now.

  4. I've played a couple of games with a smashbat list with a corpse cart, wasn't that blown away so far. Perhaps i was trying to alpha strike too much but then i worry if my opponent moves forward i have to deal with unbinding and defensive buffs. I had a game vs ironjawz opponent wasn't familiar and let me kill a mawkrusha and half a unit turn 1, it still went the rounds on the objectives though as the rest of the army hit hard and has good saves. I had a second game against StD where nothing went right. Opponent deployed well and had a list of lots of small units, and there wasn't really any standout things to take out. 370 points summoned next to a backfield objective killed 3 chaos warriors too lol.

I ran aar, GkoTg, VC, 6 flayers, 3 horrors, 40+10 ghouls, cart.

I might try less ghouls, Horrors and regular ghouls just never seem to do anything for me, you have to be lucky just to get a few hits through.

  5. We already knew OBR and FEC would be involved from the preview. Nurgle was the other which is a mystery how they are part of this.

I also scratch my head at what sort of box they can do for FEC considering their low number of models. They have  a start collecting kit, the warcry box is the same minus the dragon. The premium kit is the same but with the arch regent instead of a dragon.  The only other model in their range is the old varghulf courtier which i dont think they would bundle a resin kit with plastics.

  6. 40k got points changes though did it not? What a let down. They don't need large numbers of tournaments to see some armies (like sylvaneth and beasts of chaos for example) need changing. They made those metawatch articles too showing imbalance at the top lol

  7. The KO one seems really weak. Aether war didn't sell well.  Its still in stock most places at discount, the KO half can be had cheap so the sprues of the endrinriggers/gunhaulers are of very low value. You also get them in the SC...

I imagine they will all be £120 minimum too.

  8. I feel like they would have announced that there will be no battleforces this year by now if there wasn't going to be any, they are hurting their own sales at this point by leaving everyone in limbo. Me and quite a few people from our local shop group are holding onto our money just in case, i think anyone who trys to get the most model for their money does the same at this time of year.

You could argue we will probably just spend it on GW stuff in the end - i'm sure some of us would have bought Catacombs and other releases if we knew there wasn't battleforces coming.

Chaos Warshrines dude ! Who become behemot AND leader, who can cast his pray twice on 2+

I cant really see all the text from the video but from what i understand - Isn't the second prayer cast for the general only with a command trait and he only knows the idolator prayer that is for his mark. The warshrine getting +1 to cast roll is ok but i don't see it worth giving up good traits/artifacts like +d3 command points and a pregame move in despoilers

  10. Doesn't seem to do anything at all to make Gorebeasts chariots worth  taking at 150 points?

It seems the idolators faction would require having a lot of warcry models too, so not really an option for me.

What exactly has the priest keyword, just khorne priests and the leader you take?

  11. Looking at the nz site it looks like slaves to darkness being in idoneth deepkin on the contents page actually went to print.

I'm on the fence still about buying a box of chariots.. no preview on the rules, seems the warscrolls are unchanged unless a points drop so ill wait til i can read the book with the new battalion first.

  12. I don't see it being belakor just from the rules standpoint - slaves to darkness are in this book. I doubt they would get featured in another. Belakor also just got his subfaction in the last standalone book.

I would expect all this to be a prelude to something else shadowy like shadow elves

  13. Beasts of chaos lack any named characters in AoS other than the shadespire bray shaman character. Their generic hero's are some of the weakest and the book desperately needs new warscrolls. Perhaps they could bring morghur back in some form or a named beastlord.

The last Warcry starter was £100, and it’s not going to be less because that’s not how Games Workshop do their prices. £120-125 is entirely believable with GWs latest prices. Disappointing for sure, but not surprising at all.

true, im just hoping if the 160euro is indeed the correct price that it is a huge markup in that country. I know very few people in my shop will be buying it if its over 100. 160 euro is like 145£ if its a direct conversion.

There’s no confirmation yet, but he didn’t say he made it up. The prices are posted every week and we have this same thing of ‘there’s no confirmation!’ And then when there is confirmation it’s the same price, so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt.

I cant imagine it being more than 100£, the largest 40k set is 105£ retail. That one would has more sprues too i think. 90-100 is possible but 120? for 2 small warbands and terrain, it would be a hard sell. They can get away with single models like the giants because its usually people that are already playing buying them.

  16. Just now, Still-young said:

It would be about £125 I think (the £120 giants are €150).

It’s not going to be cheaper than the last one. That’s not how GW do.

there is no confirmation on 160 euros price, he said he made it up? Unless i'm missing something

    • Thanks 2
  17. That price as far as i can tell has been made up, it would be 140-145 in gbp which makes no sense. Blood of the phoenix was that price and look how well that sold, despite having hardcore 40k eldar & dark eldar players needing the models.

If anything it will be a cheap set(i would think 70£-90£ max) as they would want to appeal to the casual market.

  18. Might also be worth looking at nurgle with munificent wanderers. Passively they get to reduce rend by 1 in melee, and deal mortals on hits taken of 6's if in range of the general.  There's also various buffs they can get as a nurgle daemon in that army. The base sizes will be a pain if you bring in GUO / glottkin etc, aswell though.

  19. I want to see a rework to magic, maybe casting bonuses only effect spellcast not unbind. Or add line of sight requirement? perhaps change the range? The powercreep of casting bonuses has just meant the +0 cast armies are almost locked out of that part of the game. I guess the argument is just don't value wizards in those armies but its a big hit to support spells.

Command point reducing/debuffing also seems to be heading the same way with newer ways to reduce or neuter command abilities which cripple old books that have no extra command point generation.

  20. Game vs OBR went a similar way to the first. I still don't see it as winnable without major luck.

Was ahead on objectives for first 2 rounds due to numbers/mobility then everything  just dies.

Almost killed a harvester with marauders then it hits back healing to full by killing lots of models with ease (bizarrely they seem tougher and more killy than a demon prince in combat despite being an amazing support piece and costing less)

Got 2 mortek guard units down to under 5 models a few times but 6 come back a turn, couldn't quite finish them off. 20 mortek roll over 60 dice and get exploding 6's (5's when buffed) have the rend too, way higher output than what i have. Plaguetouched warband was my primary source of damage with 13 mortals being hit back on one of the rounds against a guard unit, it was really the only thing keeping me in the game.

I got two casts off all game during first turn but then arkhan just unbinds everything again once in range - need massive luck to do anything. Considering taking a soul grinder the extra ranged hit might be able to finish something off and is more reliable than a spell but its a very expensive pick. Sometimes a few points of damage felt like it could have swung the game.

I might give khorne another go but low rend/output in the army against those saves... with my -1 rend units im still against their 4+ rerolling 6++ unit most of the time, extra attacks aren't helping much compared to mortal wounds. Ive used archaon against other armies as well but not sure how he fares here, i could easily charge into a harvester and wipe them out. I don't own a lord of change... perhaps my next purchase, if i can land a few spells it would have made all the difference.

I guess you do not know that OBR got FAQ-ed. They do not get their +1 to save from Petrifex anymore. Petrifex only gets them a reroll 1s to save. (see https://www.warhammer-community.com/faqs/) , which gives you some relief.

He's playing katakros, i don't know the faction name but he gives the whole army +1 save plus the mortek still reroll 1's with their ability and have the 6++ deathleaa. Im not even going to attempt to kill katakros.

Unless I get lucky with 6's and he gets unlucky with saves I don't think a demon prince is doing 10w in a turn, if it's not a double turn he will just heal back to full again aswell.
