This has been intensely discussed. Many of us (including myself) thought at one point that we get Tyrion also with this release. And many other possible units. At various points when we had seen basically the full range GW still said something on the lines of “just tipped a toe into the water”, “only seen the tip of the iceberg” of this range. The Lumineth have dragon/phoenix symbols all over the place. And GW just said again after the second week pre-order that this finishes the initial release of the Lumineth. And so on.

It’s possible that the Lumineth were always meant to be just the starting point of the Broken Realms and we get more units relatively fast (with a Tyrion & Teclis Broken Realms book for example). The mentioned all the units of the Wind Temple in detail already, and many more as you wrote.

Or it’s all just ideas right now and we might get a second release in 2, 3 years if the Lumineth were a success. You’d likely see some heavy cavalry if Tyrion comes along with the AoS version of Caledor.

For the Teclian nations, it’s pretty fitting that there is no heavy cavalry and a lot of the other missing units people were looking for. It sadly means though, that we had several disappointed people here in this group alone, and a lot of not-my-elves posts.

On the plus side it looks like every unit they gave us is viable and has a distinct role to play.

Well hopefully we will get to see at least something in the next few months, because if they are just seeing if the Lumineth will be popular enough to justify adding more units or not, then they may have just doomed the faction from the start.

If they are basing popularity on how many player use them Competitively, I can defiantly see this faction struggling. Not because there units are rubbish because they are very viable like you said, but because of the shier lack of options. Meaning many builds will be in readably similar to each over, making it relatively easy to counter them.

If they are seeing this based on sales alone, again I’m not so sure, because of the small selection available. I could be wrong though on this, but personally, I don’t really like factions that are limited to just one stile of play, like the fresh eaters, bone reapers, and so on.

I think these Guys will have some help from GW despite poor sail though, since these are supposed to be one of the main factions of Age of Sigmar, weather that’s enough or not....

  2. I don’t know if this has been talked about yet or not, but I’m personally slightly disappointed on the variety of units available. I mean you get one melee as the only battle line, one ranged unit and one cav unit that could  be battle line. Then you have the single specialised infantry, one behemoth, and one specialised hero unit. Not including the single wizard, and named characters.

I was kinda hopping for more, like for example a heavy cav unit at least,  hell in the battletome they even talk about the other three sets of specialised units we could potentially get. Anyone else’s thoughts about this?
