GW saw how badly it went for WotC when they hired the Pinkertons to bully a leaker into giving back the card packs, and they decided to play it safe and just hire some anonymous assassins from the Darkweb.

Yes there's a rumour... coming out of a random 4chan post... Which ends with "my father works at Nintendo". It says a lot about the level of the debate really.

The past few days made me feel so happy that AoS, for all it's flaws, is not saddled with with the "boys club" lore.

It is the most forced moral outrage campaign I've ever seen regarding popular culture.

Oh no, a slight retcon in a sea of various and massive changes to established canon? Won't somebody think of the children.

Why did every media "critic" on YouTube make a video on the subject even though they have never even referenced Warhammer before?

Why did the Daily Mail write an article about GW going Woke by making lady Custodes and use pictures of Stormcast in said article?

Why did every vocal Holocaust denier on twitter begin talking about how sacred the lore of Warhammer is even though they couldn't tell you the slightest thing about it?

It is a grift, nothing more and nothing less. Just ignore it, in a month they will be gone once their culture war Shepard have taken them to a different pasture to yell at rainbows

  3. They look great, wonderfully grim and positively dark. Now they've shown a remake for the stormcast and Skaven, and today a new unit for the lightning fellas, so next week we might see either official model reveal of the Ratling canon.

But I am left wondering what niche these Reclusians will fill, for at a glance I am not so sure what they will be able to do that the Praetors and Annihilators can't already do. The lore snippet makes them sound tanky and immune to most inhospitable effects, but can GW make them standout enough though?

Packing slip contains two line items btw. Image is too low res to get the item names though.

GW might have corporate spies here. Let's not do too much of the dirty work for them.

Btw, I could swear the poll page had BoC as an option and they just deleted it?

GW, pay a proper salary to the poor intern, please

The BoC vanguard box is also in the picture in the bottom left corner...

  6. I just had a thought, what if all these cullings are GW's way of preparing for AoS: Old Realms?

In 10 years a new game system will come out, a spinoff of AoS that allows players to use all their old miniatures that were a part of the first 10 years of AoS, and play them using round bases (in AoS 6.0 they switch to hexagon bases).

Sounds like the Detachments in 10th. EG you no longer pick Imperial Fists as your Space Marine sub-faction, now it's a 'defensive ranged tactics' set of rules instead. There's been some controversy around it, but I actually think it's a much better system.

So for example, the Magmadroth-heavy sub-faction would no longer specifically be Lofnir Lodge.

That is the smartest thing to do in my opinion too, the previous method of tying rules to a subfaction soft-railroaded people into painting their armies a certain way.

I've had conversations with a person who were worried that people wouldn't play with them if their flamer-heavy SM army wasn't painted like the salamanders.

Or another person who thought they couldn't play their Seraphon army like the coalesced if they did a starborne color scheme.

Usually, newer people have this worry, and the only people whom I've ever interacted with who were strongly in favor of the previous system are all hardcore spacemarine players anyway.

Good to have official confirmation that all of these parts of the game will stay, no need to act like 4.0 will be just like the latest edition of 40k.

And the manifestation lore sounds to me like the lore of endless spells and incarnates.

  10. Guess GW don't want to put too much effort into the marketing of the new and revamped rules before Dawnbringers 6 launches.

Launching a rulebook supplement while you're showcasing a new rules set might cause a bit of whiplash from a consumer perspective.

Am i the only one that likes delfs in CoS? Give me more shadowblades and scourge privateers please!

I like them and hope they stay and get expanded upon, but GW's previous actions regarding CoS seem to imply that their inclusion is on borrowed time. I think that the only reason the Privateers weren't cut from the latest tome is that the Malarion Aelves are still quite far away from a release day, but as we come closer to it, the remaining Aelves will disappear from the CoS army.

I have a problem with that one. It is the one I looked at the most but just simply because I don't get what's going on on the lower side.

It's a false mirror. The diorama invokes the sense of a water reflection, but the entire diorama has just been rebuilt upside down.

  13. Okay, so about the fate of Khul and Vandus in the last Dawnbringers book.

    Spoiler

During the preview, the announcer said that we will also see an end to Khul's journey for the last skull he needs, namely Vandus', to ascend to Deamonhood. But he also said that their battle would end in an unexpected way, which leads me to believe that Vandus will kill Khul in the end.

But how have you come to this conclusion you might think, well here is my logic.

Khul has been on the path to Deamonhood for quite a while now. His tactical knowledge far outstrips that of even the most seasoned generals, he even had a Dawnbringers story about himself and the visions his chief shaman has, where he sees Khul with wings and a tail, typical Deamon stuff.

Vandus has also been losing his mind in the narrative, to the point where he has to be locked up in a basement when he isn't leading the hammers of Sigmar, also he has become obsessed with finding Khul and righting a wrong generations in the making.

Now, many of us thought that an Ascended Khul model would be coming with the last installment in the Dawnbringer narrative, but we are only getting Abraxia, kinda weird to be missing one of the more prominent chaos characters during a book all about chaos where they are also featured, right?

Now all of this information makes it seem like the deck is stacked against poor Vandus as if he is fated to fall and be little less than the sacrificial lamb for whom Khul can use for his triumph, but what if a certain someone were to interfere? "wink wink" nudge nudge"

So I guess that GW is pulling a fast one on us and making it look like Khul will win, but somehow Vandus triumphs in the end, Khul is killed and his model will be renamed to Mighty lord of Khorne for good and Vandus will get a shiny new Ruination chamber model.

Or maybe GW simply thinks that the audience by default thinks that the Stormcast will win, but Khul actually wins and gets a new model when BT: Blades of Khorne releases.

  14. Do you think the model mondays will be reserved for the new starter set? Full reveal of the box will probably happen 1 month from now, so 4 weeks of lesser reveals from starter box seems like some good teasers to keep us interested.
