    Didn’t buy a thing.

Lords if the lance special edition was sold out. All Bretonnian Heroes as well.

And I don’t feel like paying and then waiting 2 months until my flgs get a restock.

    Guess I‘ll wait. :)

The magnitude of demand underestimation is absurd 🤣

Same. Everything I was interested in was sold out. Hope they learn their lesson. And I hope nothing today was a one off…

So they say this is the whole launch range for Bretonnia. Can someone specify what this term "launch range" means exactly in this context? They haven't shared any information on some of the arguably most iconic Bret characters and units such as the King (on a Hippogryph potentially) himself, the Green Knight, Questing and Grail Knights. It seems weird doing a plastic box of Foot Knights that didn't even exist in WHFB and rereleasing these legendary models in their old sculpts won't you say?

Maybe these characters don’t live yet in the time period of the game? TOW is at least 2 or 300 years earlier in history before endtimes.

32 archers for same price as 5 tiny elfs like lumineths hammerers or swordmasters???

that would be way too cheap skinks are fantasy models, more horde than bretonians, and even older, and they cost around 40€ for 24 if im not wrong. so i would expect units of 32 models being in 60€ range, and that would be way too cheap allready for gw standars.

if they release every oldworld troop units in 32s for 50€ i would do a count as lumineth army easily for 120€ or so after discounts in high elf troops.

Very true. Maybe they sell them as an armybox, bundeled with resin characters and a bunch of different sprues for 250-300€.

My guess is the following based on this extract from the article:

A unit of 32 archers, complete with a command group and Defensive Stakes around 45 - 50 €. Maybe even less.

If it’s in the 40s or 50s€ that would be great indeed. Let’s have some hope. They can’t be stupid and must know that their investment is dod if too pricey.

Love love love those AOS minis!! The Draconith is epic and Belthanos looks incredible.

Cannot wait for Dawnbringers III and the advancement of the narrative I just love it!!

On The Old World....Im not interested in it at all. I cant believe theyll charge modern prices for those sculpts.

Well, if they overprice TOW too much, it might as well be dead on arrival, I fear. A shame that in my opinion the AoS lore lacks the spice and humor and depth that TOWs lore had. Maybe I just can’t get over that they made Nagash from one of the greatest menaces of the old world to a stupid comic book Skeletor.

Ah, my biggest fears for the reveal were kinda true - Fomo boxes were the core of the reveal 😩

I like the Stormcast Dragon about as much as I don’t care for it, I have to say I do rather like its wings and the base is Killer! . Bretonnia minis were cool, and I’m sure someone out there is happy the old Knights are coming back. Not me.

What was shown was neat, but as the 40th year anniversary this was a total let down. I feel they didn’t care. The celebration has been a little lack luster. My fault again for hyping it in my head. I also can’t believe even a Made to Order of classic Warhammer minis was timed in for today.

Apologies for the Grumpiness but yeeesh, what a bummer of a celebration.

I totally understand your sentiment regarding the anniversary. This anniversary merch box they are selling is so sad. 😞

It was a small preview for 40 years of warhammer hype.  Guess we have to wait till next year for bigger releases

I think this is actually the disappointing thing: 40 years of Warhammer and it feels like they do nothing special. Just the usual business.

    Have you tried Etsy?

What do you mean? I know Etsy; there are great 3D prints, resin-models etc. I have plenty of other terrain. I can build my own. But the old Empire kits from GW have a certain charm, lots of nice little details. Maybe it’s a little bit of a collectors thing. I have Skullvane Manse, the ruin and this super modular wizard-tower kit which shares parts with the tower-ruin. They are all great kits with awesome dimensionality.

Would be great to have them back. I just finished painting the manor kit and it has a lot of great, flavourful bits.

However, I feel like GW is not going to put these kits back into production. Their terrain generally seems to have a much shorter shelf life than their miniatures. You can't even buy the Thondian Strongpoint anymore right now, and that set is from this edition.

In general, I am feeling a bit apprehensive right now about GW's Old World marketing. It seems to me that they are showing entirely too many old models for them to realistically make them all available again. I can already see people online hyping themselves up like it's a sure thing that all kinds of old metal models will be returning. It feels like the community is setting themselves up for disappointment once again, even though we just went through the same thing when people were expecting new plastic models.

Maybe you’re right. But hope dies last. I think they are showing an awful lot of old models in their promo shots.

  9. Do you guys think they’ll also bring back old terrain kits for TOW? I liked the empire building kits much better than any of the AOS terrain. I’m looking for years now to get a reasonably priced manor kit with no luck. Or the chapel or the watchtower…

Most likely because by launch the people who weren’t feeling it just passed on it and moved on.

Yeah, me for example. I really wanted a new skeleton army. Maybe based on the design of the Sepulchral Guard. These weird bone things are not at all my taste. I can wait. Maybe the Vampires won’t be totally overdesigned weirdos.
I wonder if I will ever personally meet someone playing Ossiachs...

Now that I think of it: Even the ossiarchs, while they do some crazy stuff with bones, are at their core a very traditionally structured infantry/cavalry/artillery army. Actually far more grounded than, say, an army wholly consisting of floating ghosts.

True. I still hope for very traditional, low fantasy skeletons, like the Sepulchral Guard models. I can‘t stand those Ossiarchs at all.
Are there any rumors about a “normal“ skeleton faction?
