[The Painting Contract - March 2020]

I'm also working away on an Ogor Tyrant but I'm trying to push myself to the absolute limit of my current ability (detailed flesh, NMM on everything, textured cloth) and am just doing a little here and there. I think it's unlikely I'll finish it before the end of the month and don't want that time pressure. 

Oh and add 1x Gloomtide Shipwreck to the painting goals!

The usual suggestions are the vampire coven throne cauldron, or the daughters of khaine cauldron of blood cauldron. Both are kind of shallow,  but have blood in them. The latter is hard to get because it’s integral to either build, but you might get lucky with the former as it isn’t used in the Mortis engine build. However, unless you can find the bit on its own, both kits are at least as expensive as just buying the slaughtermaster and using his cauldron! Not aware of any other GW cauldrons - you could use the tiny one from the stonehorn kit and make a joke out of it?

Brilliant, thanks. I thought of the DoK cauldron just after posting but didn't turn up anything on the bits sites or eBay. Throne Cauldron never occurred to me so I will try and source this. Although if worse comes to worst, I can probably buy the Start Collecting Malignants box and sell the Spirit Hosts and Hexwraithss to recover most of the value of the box.

My backup option is to do something with the baskets from the Scraplauncher/Ironblaster kit. Either construct some sort of table with some sprue bits and greenstuff and have it as a barbeque station with some of the meat bits from the Glutton kit. Or else see if I can pose the Gnoblars from the Blood Bowl kit to carry them, as if they are carrying top-ups from the Great Mawpot to the ladz. I'm also of a mind to do some greenstuff conversion on the Gnoblar holding a broken bottle - it could easily become a haunch of dwarf or something 😀

[AoS 2 - Ogor Mawtribe Discussion]

I'm about to start a Mawtribes army project based initially around a Bloodgullet list with a Goremand batallion backed up by a Frostlord on Stonehorn. The plan is to get the initial list plus a few extras ready for Armies on Parade.

With that in mind, I've got the Blood Bowl ogre team to use as a base for a Butcher and Slaughtermaster conversion. I'm looking for a part to use as a cauldron for the Slaughtermaster. Because I'm aiming for Armies on Parade I'd like this to be a GW component if at all possible. I'm struggling to find something suitable, though. Has anyone got any suggestions?

Long time lurker, first time poster. Based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I played 40k and WFB as a teenager in the 90s and then had spells with LOTR and WFB 7e in my 20s. I got back into miniature painting about 5 years ago for D&D and then got interested in Warhammer again at the tail end of 7e. I've always been more drawn towards fantasy models so I expanded into AoS pretty quickly and started collected a Tzeentch army, mainly as an excuse to paint a Lord of Change.

I've only played a handful of games but as well as my Tzeentch, I have 2/3rds of a Deepkin army painted (a couple of characters, 6 more eels, 10 thralls and a turtle to go). Once the fishbois are finished I have a Mawtribes project in  mind that I've started buying for.
