I'd expect you to run into issues when playing any serious games, due to reduced line of sight, but less on casual games.
Line of sight is so rarely an issue in AoS.

Do you think that the release of Thousand Sons models suggests that Tzeentch AoS stuff is on the way?

The Garden of Nurgle
The very ground upon which you walk seeks to infect your warriors, rusting their armour and decaying their clothes. All terrain pieces upon the battlefield give a -1 to any armour save. This replaces the +1 armour save bonus normally allowed under the AOS rules. This should definitely be a spell for Nurgle allegiance - would be great and fluffy vs Sylvaneth!

Gutted I can't make this one due to a birthday clashing with it.
Pack looks great. Could I make one suggestion:
QuoteThe dice to see who takes initiative for each battle round, generate scenario effects or mission objective marker effects cannot be modified in any way.
I completely agree with the philosophy of this rule. I think it rightly excludes Kairos, Kroak, the Coven Throne and Skink Starseer from messing with initiative rolls. It also rightly preserves the rules which allow you to circumvent the initiative roll entirely (since these are things you pay a premium for) - e.g. Overlords of Chaos, Engine of the Gods.
The one example I'm aware of which falls between the cracks is the Lords of the Lodge formation - this formation is a whopping 160 points (Clan Skryre autowin is 200 points for reference) which allows Fyreslayers (not exactly the popular worldbeating filth of the month) to add up to 3 to initiative rolls if 3 heroes are alive. By way of context, Fyreslayers only receive points for 4 formations, of which one if too large to even deploy in 2,000 points. They really need this formation to be viable.
Could you please allow this formation to use its special rule. Perhaps you could say:
The dice to see who takes initiative for each battle round, generate scenario effects or mission objective marker effects cannot be modified in any way (unless specifically contemplated by a special rule, e.g. Lords of the Lodge).
Or
The dice to see who takes initiative for each battle round, generate scenario effects or mission objective marker effects cannot be modified in any way (except for Lords of the Lodge which works as written).
Cheers.

Paint those Fyreslayers @Nico the Lodges welcome you.
First 6 done! I expect a new release before I finish the first 11....

Doubtful. The first monthly White Dwarf is said to contain stuff about Kharn and some Chaos stuff for 40k. As the White Dwarf would now seem to be a retrospective look on the past month, I think it'd be safe to assume that it'll be a 40k pre order again next week and no significant AoS release until September.
I'm now painting the Fyreslayers I've bought. Fighting the withdrawal symptoms. 4 weeks without a release, surely not....

3 weeks without an AoS release and the withdrawal symptoms are killing us. I'm almost at the point of buying Fyreslayers....
I need help.

I just hope they do a book of allegiance packs for "settled" armies Flesh Eaters, TK (I beg), Fyreslayers, Seraphon (possibly release these as electronic things individually on the app) sooner rather than later.

However, I don't understand why battleline daemons units (plaguebearers, bloodletters, daemonettes, horrors) should go on 32mm bases. GW supply them with 25mm bases, they are on 25mm bases on all pictures and they fit really well on these. I've put a few of my plaguebearers on 32mm bases and it just doesn't work: they look small and it visually doesn't make sense.
Completely agree with this one. I played against Plaguebearers yesterday and they look tiny and lost on 32mm bases. They are a unit to be fielded in blocks of 30 (or even 40) so 32mm bases seem excessive.

The choice of two lists idea is inspired - degree of flexibility, but without the time wasted deciding what to drop next in the deployment phase.
QuoteThe dice to see who takes the initiative at the start of each Battle Round may not be rerolled or modified in any way.
On a minor point, it would be nice if this carved out the Lords of the Lodge formation, otherwise this is just a fat nerf to Fyreslayers (not exactly the filth of the week) by making their best formation overcosted. Given that the relevant rule (up to +3 to initiative roll if you keep 3 heroes alive, 2 of whom are 5 wound heroes) is once per game (and isn't even guaranteed to succeed), I don't think this is overpowered - the real issue (which I'm sure will come up at The Warlords) will be Kairos, Kroak and the Skink Starseer rigging the initiative rolls (sometimes repeatedly).

Thanks again Chris! Awesome event. Great players. Very slick. Best tournament food I've had.

Stormcast Eternal Errant-Questor
He has a name. Sounds like he's lost.
How long for the Warscroll?
I gather that you'll always be able to buy it but only from Warhammer World (so it's not the end of the world if you don't get it that day). I might grab one at The Warlords.

Awesome. Thank you. Hope you feel better soon.

They need desperately a new organization, making for example Deathlords applicable to all other factions without affecting allegiance or something like that.
This is a good idea. It's really hard to make a viable 2,000 point list using the Deathlords (whether pure Deathlords or otherwise).
Dark Elves are a bit of a mess at the moment.

Feeling very excited now it's this weekend. Got my suitably filthy raffle item ready.
Are there going to be open lists and the draw in advance?
Cheers

Also does Red Fury count for whole model or just character in the case of a vampire lord on Zombie Dragon?
The whole model.

Those are just the names for the Sylvaneth and Savage Orc allegiances I believe.

I think there are rules for those in the Scenery Warscrolls:

Thanks. So a one use reroll for a turn or a battleround? That could be massive.
Yeah if it's fixed in your list, then it would immediate ruin all the buffs and artefacts which are anti-Chaos or anti-Order for example as they would be irrelevant 3/4 of the time.
-
Yeah - that does make a lot of sense against Ironjawz, as a hero at the back is safe as can be with Ironjawz' near total lack of shooting. I think it depends on what the Command Trait is, if it's a passive one that doesn't require proximity (like the death one here), then great. If you're going for an aggressive buff to the hero, then obviously the big flappy. It's a nice tactical choice you can make for each game when you see your opponent. Here you're not losing much as the GkoZD's buff is his spell, rather than his Command Ability (which is summoning).
-
I've not seen any leaks of the Triumph Table (I gather it's not the one in the regular rules). I suspect 1980 will be the sweet spot (or 1990 if you fit in a 30 point fanatic) as you'll gain a significant buff for 20 points against some players.
-
Ok - yes that makes some sense now. Still - I'd much rather keep the all important ward save buff on the 14 wound monstrosity and take a few more Ghouls.
-
Sounds like a fun game and really swung back and forth. Did he have a GKoZD? I'm confused why that wouldn't be general.
-
I'm sure no-one was planning to do this anyway, but could you include the longstanding rule (from both like Clash 1.2 and SCGT) that you cannot use dice reroll abilities (Kroak, Coven Throne etc.) on the rolls for initiative (or on any rolls for the mechanics of the battleplans themselves). They are definitely not priced sufficiently so as to include this.
Cheers.

This would be an improvement on Empire who rely on their only army that could buff regular shooting attacks through the roof garbage (now the Bonesplitterz have joined this ignominous club....).
