  1. Major problem is that for a 300 point unit of stabbas you get 32 wounds, where Savage Orruks give you 60 wounds and more attacks. So Big Stabbas will get down fast. And for 300 points to be just "go there and die" unit, its too much of a cost to handle.

Hey i’m looking to start getting into bonesplittaz but i’m looking more on the competitive side. I’m curious where you all think the army sits competitively and if icebones are better than drakkfoot?

i also see rogue idols as almost and auto include do youguys feel the same?

an example list i like a lot

    Drakkfoot

    Savage big boss

    wardokk

    wardokk

    maniak

    20 arrow

    20 arrow

    10 savage

    10 savage

    20 grot stabbas

    Rogue idol

    kunin rukk

    2x2 big stabbas

    palisade

if anyone is familiar with a list like that i’m curious what you think

In current Meta Bonesplitterz work best with Big Waagh Allegiance, 2x30 bpobs of orruks with stabbas, cabbage(maw krusha feom IJ) and some other units of 10(eitger ard boyz of savage morboiz) and you are good to go.

In terms of boars, pick Savage boar maniaks for alpha-striking weak blobs with low save, or gore-geuntas for some heavy-lifting enemies.

Icebonez, 30 Arrows, Brutal Rukk with 2x30 Spears, Rogue Idol. Surprisingly fast, reasonable killing power, and 180 chump wounds is just hard to shift off of objectives.

I want to try Big Waaagh, but losing Warpaint against alpha strikes, the pre-game move, and monster hunting feels like a steep price. Trading early game power for mid/late game power, not sure how much I like it personally.

May I ask for more precise list? Most specifically how many heroes and which artefacts outside of Katakan Belt.

    ...Drakkfoot?

Honestly I feel like this is a horrendously bad matchup for the Nighthaunts. Take any moderately tuned Drakkfoot list and you would be the favoured player. You can get Savage Orruks up to a 3+ save with buffs which he'll have a hard time chewing through, you can poke with arrowboys, you can rend through his saves with big stabbas - if you want to be really nasty a rogue idol with an allied warchanter will thresh through his units and instantly demolish any hero it reaches.

Also, the Wurrgog Prophet mulches big blobs. 20 mortal wounds to a chainrasp horde is nothing to sniff at, nor is 10 to the reapers.

Just make a hole and kill his squishy heroes. GG.

Im asking since my last 2 plays agaisnt Nighthaunts ended up pretty badly. I was using Drakkfoot warclan but ended up loosing anyway. Hiwever my second loss could be on par with a fact I had to split armies since NH did their "deepstrike" right behind my army and tried to nail me from two sides. I also had a test list back then, with only 2 casters, no Prophet and having teef rukk batalion, despite knowing savage big voss is a pile of warm dump and half of batalions is doomed because they require him to be in your army. Also my Rogue Idol steuggled to destroy his blob because for everything I killed he simply restored it back with his fraction shenanigans. In the end I ended up defeated hy objective lead, but the Idol was holding by his own for 3 turns.

So yea, next time I will bring the Prophet, maybe Kop Rukk and spam fireballs and Fists of Gork, on top of rushing Rogue Idol and stabbas in the feon while helding regular mini bpobs on the back to prevent the enemy from backstabbing me.

    Any other tips?

  5. I got a question: why do Big Stabbas get 3' range for?  I get these are big spears, but the range doesnt help them in anything. They have to charge up to 0,5 inch anyway and their models are too big to benefit from 3' range as savage orruks with stikkas do.

  6. Yea I used those 10 left to make morboys after all, kinda regreting it now. Now imbpreparing for a tournament 2k and to do so I must buy 3-4 boxes of SO to have at least 2x30 of spearbois. Thats gonna cost a lot. 😧

Eventually I will make a boar-focused army, with rogue Idol or something among those lines. Considering picking Drakfoot warclan for this tournament.

  7. We are looking for scenarios in other books than of ours battletomes, since we cannot fulfil those yet. So yea, probably pitched battle.

The biggest problem I have is with artefacts, since as I understood you can have only 1 artefact at all and only general who is a wizard can either pick battle traits or magic traits. Im still learning so those things are a bit confusing.

I also struggle to pick a right warclan for this. It doesnt seem luke any warclan could be effective here so I might just skip it. However Bonegrinz seemed to be somewhat reasonable choice.

Another problem is that I still have 10 unassemblied units at my disposal. So I wonder what would benefit me better: another 10 units of archers, 10 units of morboys or 10 units or shield boys with choppas?

Right I have a pack of 10 of each

  8. Ok guys, im going againt Skaven army this saturday, so Im working on how to kick those guys into nuts-nuts. From what I know I will probably face lots of stormfiends and plaguemonks, Clan Scryer(or something along those lines).

Its 1000pts. I have so far came up with this. Let me check if everything is correct and what would you change if you played against elite-based Skaven?

I think the more flexible General Trait system (outside of Bonegrindz) makes them very takeable, if not superior to vanilla. Yes there is the Item tax, but it's usually not too hard to fit in a battalion to get around the first item.

Thats usually where other armies run into issues is that the General Trait half the time isn't very good compared to others. Especially SCE (though thats mainly due to the silliness of Staunch Defender).

Thats the thing I wanted to ask for, since as I see the vanilla general traits and items seem pretty cool, especially for more fighty heroes. But that may be my first impression.

  10. Another thing to ask: I just got Orruc Warclans Battletome and Im suprised how they changed the way warclans work.  All of them seem equal and useful, despite Bonegrinz being a little disadvantageous. How do those warclans look when compared to vanilla orcs?(assuming you can choose not to use any warclan)

  11. Hey boyz.

Im a new Bonesplitter player. I started with Warcry and Im moving to AoS slowly. Right now Im preparing to play at my local shop at their 600pt rules:

-max 1 hero in the army

-no army can have a cost greater than 200

So, given that, what composition would you reccomend? Atm having 10arrowboyz, 10 moarboyz, 10shieldboyz with chompaz,  3x2 Bog Stabbas, Wurrgog Prophet and Savage big Boss.

Im also gonna get a box of boarboyz and Warduk.

For now I have been running with Big Boss, arrowboyz, moarboyz, stabba and shieldboyz but once I get my boars I plan to go with 2 boarboy maniaks, moarboyz, Big Boss and Stabba. What do you think about it?

Also planning to upgrade up to 1000 poibts and more later on. I saw some of your 2k army builds, but Im not a competetive player and I mostly play with my friend who plays Seraphons and also plans to upgrade his army. What would you say?
