I have found the boneshaper to be extremely lackluster every time ive used him for the 10 games. I was worried about RDP and while the rend ability is extremely handy I only use it here and there. The main ability I use basically every turn is Nagash's and the Mortek Guard's. But yeah this is the main issue I was concerned about, but wanted to trial it and see if it is extremely detrimental.
On average I should generate 4 (1 Nagash, 1 for 6 die rolls, and 2 from Nagash's spell) so we'll see how it goes. If it is super crippling, then I'll have to make some adjustments.

Ok so after quite a few games with ny current list and have a few losses do to pure lack of mobility...I have come up with a new brew and am looking for feedback.

I cut a crawler, boneshaper, and nightmare predator for 10 boney ponies. I'm hoping with the speed of the horses it'll be easier for my to screen and capture objective half the table away. But I don't know if I should go 10, 10, 20 with the Mortek Guard instead of 20, 20.

Im having to drop 20 Guards for the 2 endless spells and an extra Crawler. The Crawlers seem scary good along with the endless spells. Only thing is im un-sure if it's wise to drop so many of the Guards. I do feel like the extra Catapult could help crush quite a few enemy models before they get in range of my Guards though. Any advise?

I think yes? I mean the Crawlers are scary good on paper. I dont see why them, a ton of guard, and a soulmason as an HQ couldn't be a competitive list

I'm tossing this up too. But the Halberds seem better to me. Longer range, more rend, and more damage

Multicast arcane bolt lets him bully small heroes, his unbind bonus now extending to dispels lets him drop & recast endless spells with ease, and mortek guard are a solid unit even with only minimal support that, while not cheap, are cheap enough to run a fair few of. 880 is a lot, but if they *don't* faq away his ability to benefit from subfaction rules he'll be right tough with 2+ rerollable armor from petrifex, protection of nagash, & self invocation thanks to warscroll changes.
He's maybe not top tier like he was in the early days of 2e, but he'll see some use and will catch more than a few opponents with their pants down. Unless I'm adding points wrong, nagash, 3x20 morteks, & one extra support caster of choice will fit in 2k, with enough points spare for your choice of 1 liege kavalos, 1 harvester, 1 crawler, 3 immortis, 3 stalkers, or maybe 2 morghasts depending on support caster choice. Or get two support casters with points left over for an endless spell or two.

You could also switch to 1x40, 2x10 morteks. Concentrates your board presence in one unit, but shaves points for another endless spell.

That is true. 2+ seems really tanky plus he can heal himself...The Tomb Stalkers seem very good, but the Immortis soaking wounds as well seem nuts

So is Nagash just useless now? I really hope not (spent 33 hours on my model) but all the list seem really lack luster so far

Don't get me wrong. If you can keep him near a 20 man squad of Guard it's great! Along with Nagash you're bringing back 6 guard a turn. It just feels like he gets picked off quite often and that's even when he's hugging the 20 man with God Bone Armor.
I REALLY love my Nagash and I'm super reluctant to let him go. But I wonder how replacing him with Arkhan and Katakros would go. I'll try this build for a bit and then give the Katakros and Arkhan build a spin. But Nagash is just such a dominant force that even replacing him with 2 other strong heroes feels bad =/
