  1. Could be a generic/named ghoul king, which would be cool because it could indicate a new zombie dragon for soulblight.  The only ghoul king model out there comes with that kit currently, so if they were planning on revamping it (see what I did there) it would mean they'd need a new ghoul king mini as well.

    Purely speculation.

Any thoughts on the vampire lord as a leader? Since the new 4 warhammer underworlds vampires got previewed I figured they would be fantastic to use in this game.

Vamp lord looks good but i feel like he's still outshined by the Necromancer and even a Wight King at this stage.  I think I'm more excited about the vargheists, they are serious beatsticks and so fast too - run a horde of zombies with a necromancer as leader, and i think it'll be tough for your opponent to deal with your large number of activations AND a high damage output, high wound beast flying around the table...that you can revive for a triple.

  3. I'm sticking with my guns on the Be'Lakor reveal.  I think he's working with Malerion.   Other than the shadow tropes i've got nothing to base that on, but i'd just really like it.

I'll say again, they've factually said that Malerion has been working with shadow daemons in a community article.  Be'lakor hates the gods as much as he hates everyone else, so making alliances with hateful, deception driven aelves and then destroying them later would befit his scheming.

  4. I play BoC, I can tell you that with all the hate the Bullgors got when they were released, no one cares now.  New players like them, and they're completely unique in design amongst minotaur-like sculpts, they aren't going anywhere.  There's no chance they'll put out a resculpt of them.
The real issue is that ALL the hero models available for BoC other than the great bray shaman (beastlord, doombull, shaggoth) are in resin, as are the centigors, jabberslythe, etc.  I would prefer all of those get plastic kits before throwing us more god-aligned bs, since the lore of the actual battletome would suggest the majority of bray-and-warherds do NOT follow a god, and see getting power from a stronger being as something a weakling would do.  It's fine that the god factions get some god-aligned beasts, but that's not why a BoC player plays BoC - otherwise we'd all just play those god books.  With the rules they way they are for BoC, it's what most people have to do to be competitive, but in a balanced world that wouldn't be necessary.

Skaven definitely need the love first though, there is so much in that army that is not current and looks terrible comparatively.  I hope that they get the plastic models they deserve sooner rather than later.

  5. I've played a few great games with the new order grand alliance battletome, and it really adds some fun stuff!
First, having kroxigor is a blast.  Works as a proverbial Distraction Carnifex, and having tearing bite on it is just absolutely brutal.
Second, the Salamander is a bit underwhelming for its point cost, honestly.  I think I'll try out a Razordon soon.
The Astrolith Bearer is interesting as a healer, but because we're not a super fast list, I find I haven't had a good opportunity to get any real use out of it.  I think I'd rather throw in more skinks or a Saurus Guard in its place and save the points.

Having a list of just a ton of 45 point skink handlers is really tempting for the laughs, honestly.

  6. Agreed, I also just got my Cockatrice and I am very excited to use it and my Doombull.  I really wish the centigors looked better, but we're fast enough as it is without them in my opinion.

I'm not sure what to change in my list, currently it's a double axe bloodkine, 2 double axe bullgors, 3 raiders and 3 double weapon gors, which was working really well for me, but i'd really like to try some of the new stuff.

  7. Looks like we got Bray Shaman, Beastlord, Doombull, Shaggoth, Centigors + Centigor leader, and the Cockatrice.  Anyone thinking of changing up their force to add in any of these bad boys?  I'll probably stick to my basic structure but add the Shaman as my leader, he's still pretty nasty - might replace some of my ungors with a centigor or two.

Maybe they'll remove Bestigors and simply make the Khorngors the one elite choice?

I certainly hope not, that would make BoC completely useless without god-marked help.  They're already hurting as undivided and if Bestigors were removed as non-marked beasts, the BoC book would be utterly gutted.  No thanks.

Thats just Karthaen one of the modes from the kurnothi side of the beastgrave starter set not nw models unfortunately

If you can show me the model you mean, i'll believe you...but i just looked at the kurnothi warband from the set and there are definitely zero models that look like that.  Sorry, i'll need further convincing.

  10. I'm still in it to win it: Broken Realms: Morathi and whichever one Malarion is in are going to talk extensively about their "shadow daemons", and who is the lord of shadows....

Be'Lakor's "Shadow Form" ability - "Be'Lakor's physical form is as insubstantial as the cloying mists of Ulgu, and just as hard to land a telling blow against"

Isn't it interesting that the Shadowstalkers warband have a similar ability after binding themselves to daemons of shadow from Ulgu?

If I'm wrong, which I admit that I probably am, fine.  But if I'm right...

  11. So with the GA books coming out, do you all think they'll add/change anything within BoC?  What other units would you want to see incorporated of those possible?  Unfortunately they're really only doing things that have been made in plastic - do we think they'll expand the rules to include things like centigors, or have beastlords as mercs, etc?

  12. What about that community article that literally said Malerion was working with "shadow daemons"?  Or was that the mistake you were all talking about?

I am definitely excited if this preview sheds some light on the situation, but I have a feeling it's just the second wave of Lumineth.

  13. Okay totally off the rails speculation, but here's my brain:

I got a new model, painted it up, and looked at the rules...

    Be'Lakor has flavor text:

"Be'Lakor's physical form is as insubstantial as the cloying mists of Ulgu..."

Is it just me, or does that rumor engine claw, the portrait of Malerion we've seen multiple times, and Be'Lakor share some striking resemblances?

Be'Lakor sure does hate the chaos gods.

  14. For their uses i think blowpipe/club is fine, you're basically just going to be running them around shooting things and creating a diversion, that if not taken seriously enough will also deal some crazy critical damage.  Even with a shield they'd die to a stiff breeze, so a good mix of a bunch of skinks and some guard should be a powerful enough list to get through most battles.

  15. Strange that they didn't wait to release this until after they had addressed the problems with the new set of cards that came out last week.

There are typos and oversights on many of the cards in the most recent wave that have no fixes stated in this faq, such as the Seraphon Saurus Knight leader not having the Leader runemark.

I hope they add a second faq soon.

  16. Saurus are going to be great chaff, skinks will be good board control, but maaan that quad is going to let rippers or leaders really tear stuff up.  I think I'm pretty excited, but why oh why did the cold one riders not get the voracious apatite ability rune?  It would have made sense and made them actually good.
