  1. Hey all. This is what I have been running, but it feels like it could be a lot better. There is a lot of CoS and Death players in our playgroup, and I do alright against them, but I'm wondering if I should swap some things around? Maybe make the list a Drakkfoot one? I would love people's opinions or ideas for improvement.

  2. Hi all! My usual play group and I are pretty casual but recently a guy got the Lumineth box and I can't for the life of me deal with the Light of Eltharion. The most damage I was able to do was with my 30 arrowboyz. I don't know if I was just unlucky or if the model itself is just bonkers, but if I leave it alone it wreaks havoc on my boyz. Is magic the only consistent way to deal damage to it?

You shouldnt have any issues using the Flesh Hounds as Salamanders/Razordons with a bit of conversion/kitbashing in an event. As long as it is somewhat obvious what model it is, it is generally fine. Many people have used Flesh Hounds and changed their backs + used a Cold One head from the Saurus Knight unit. Google is your friend.

    Tyvm!

  4. So, I'm getting back into the hobby, haven't played Seraphon since WHFB in 2003 and I noticed, much to my disappointment that a LOT of the models haven't changed in 17 years! It has gotta be a common complaint, and that brings me to my question about conversions. My roommate plays Blades of Khorne and when she was picking them up she thought she liked the daemons but ended up liking the mortals more so she has a bunch of daemon models she doesn't plan on using and I think that with a little bit of converting the Flesh Hounds would make great new models for Salamanders/Razordons. Is this legal? My plans to alter them into Razordons feels like it would change them up enough, but I don't know yet how I am going to change them into Salamanders and don't know if I should be entertaining the idea if the models themselves wont be legal at local events.

I run a Runesmiter on Magmadroth pretty regularly, and he definitely has gas in the engine in certain builds (especially in Forge Brethren with the Shardfist Pelt), but if you are getting three anyhow I'd say get two of the Runesons going because they really do get quite hitty whilst showing off for one another. The Runefather hits hardest of them all, and his 3" reach makes him great for doing some damage from behind the lines, but I rarely find myself using him because I don't play Lords of the Lodge usually.

Thanx a bunch! I will likely go with the 2 Runesons. Any preferences for kit? 2 Axes, 2 javelin or 1 of each? Also, another noob question, for Vulkites, I was thinking of going tankier with shields and picks for the rend, but I see a LOT of people going shield and Axe. And here is where the noob intensifies, is the +1 to hit that the axes have over the picks worth not having the rend?

  6. Hey all. New to Fyreslayers and pretty new to the game. Have a question about the Runesmiter and Magmadroths. I plan on picking up 3 of the start collecting boxes and have been wondering if the Runesmiter on Magmadroth is worth it? If I have my Runefather I get Hearthguard as battline, and the 2 Runesons that compete with eachother seems pretty sweet.

I guess tldr Runesmiter on foot is great, is it worth putting one on a Magmadroth instead of 2 Runesons?

In a Nutshell that is about my standard list but by taking so many Sequitors and the Phalanx you might lack some Damage. I usually take just one unit of 10 and one of 5. If you get rid of Phalanx and Vortex you can instead:

Take Lord Arcanum on Gryph Charger (imho better command ability)

Take 3 extra Ballistas for some ranged support. Alternatively 6 Longstrike Crossbows or a Unit of Retributors plus some more Liberators for objective grabbings.

I will absolutely try that. The Phalanx felt a little weak, but some people around the store recommended it. I'll try making some lists without it for sure. Thanx!

Other way round, it changed from within 9" to wholly within 12" and changed from Stormcast to Hammers of Sigmar :)

In most cases you can't trust the warscrolls on their website, the ones in the app (which is free) are the correct ones.

And now I know. Thank you very much!

So moving forward, I guess it will be this?

    Realm: Hysh
    Stormhost: Hammers of Sigmar
    Leaders:
Lord Arcanum (on foot): General, God forged Blade, Azyrite Halo
    Lord Relictor: Aetherquartz Brooch, Translocation
    Gavriel Sureheart

    Battleline: 2x Sequitors x10
Other: 2x Evocators x5 (not sure what weapon. Attacking in two ranks is great but theres only 5 models in the unit)

    Warscroll Battalion: Cleansing Phalanx
Endless Spell: Celestian Vortex (just to fill out my last 40pts really)
    Total pts:1500

Gavriel's command ability only effects Hammers of Sigmar units, so in this army it will only affect himself (because everyone else is a Tempest Lord), which is why you don't tend to see people using Tempest Lords. We've only really got 2 "spammable" command abilities and they are tied to stormhosts (Hammers and Anvils).

Ahh ok. I was told there was an errata that changed it to all friendly Stormcast but lowered the range from 12" to 9".

If that's not the case I'll have to think of something else. Thanks though!

  10. Currently working towards this for my Sacrosanct list. I feel like it has potential, and the Hero I was told to pick up while at my local shop seems great.

    Realm: Hysh
    Stormhost: Tempest Lords
    Leaders:
Lord Arcanum (on foot): General, Patricians Helm, Azyrite Halo
    Lord Relictor: Aetherquartz Brooch, Translocation
    Gavriel Sureheart

    Battleline: 2x Sequitors x10
Other: 2x Evocators x5 (not sure what weapon. Attacking in two ranks is great but theres only 5 models in the unit)

    Warscroll Battalion: Cleansing Phalanx
Endless Spell: Celestian Vortex (just to fill out my last 40pts really)
    Total pts:1500

It seems alright, but I haven't actually played it yet. I love the idea of potentially regenerating CP whenever you spend it, but I don't see many people running Tempest Lords. Does it just amount to a cute trick and nothing else?

In my humble opinion, i would buy the battletome to know a little bit more about the rules : Sacrosanct models are very good right now, both Sequitors and Evocators.

I haven't played against Skaven or FeC much, but Slaanesh on the other hand ... I feel like it's a hard match. If possible, prevent the KoS from touching anything important/block it, kill it, then snipe as much heroes as fast as you can. Without them the army loses a lot of its potential. The hardest part being to kill them all before they start respawning left and right...

Thank you, I will do just that

  12. Hey all! I am new to AoS and even newer to the SCE. As of now, I am only really playing casually with friends, and might hit up the local hobby shop every now and then, but I find that any time I end up facing Skaven or Flesh Eater Courts I get rolled over. I'll admit I didn't do a heck of a lot of research before picking up my models, and a friend and I split the Soul Wars box and I was super happy with it. I enjoy Sequitors, though I find them a little expensive, and the Evocators are down right delightful, but against those two factions (a friend plays FEC and our local shop sees a lot of Skaven and Slaanesh) they don't perform very well. Am I missing something? I've read a little about Anvil-Hammer? Is that something I should be going for instead? I really do like the Sacrosanct models, but if they aren't worth it I don't believe I have gone too far down that path to switch things up.
