A 4+ save ignoring rend -1, 5+ ward and 1 wound is exactly the same as a 6+ save not ignoring rend -1, 5+ ward and 2 wounds. And you can give the new plague bearers +1 to saves, as well, making them actually ~1.3 times more tanky against rend -1, more tanky than that against rend 0 and weirdly also against rend better than -2 (since you can't rend them down lower than a save of '-', wasting any rend above 2).

The old plaguebearers were tankier even with 1 wound. I think you didn´t take into account the -1 to hit.
For the same price they were tankier and had more bodies.

  2. This new book seems very frustrating and boring to play with.

Disease points are much weaker than other mechanics that simply inflict mortal wounds. Point per point our troops are weaker and leds killy than with the previous book and now they lack mobility ... I don't know how we are going to capture markers moving 4.

They have removed many interesting rules from warscrolls and have given rules that do not contribute much.
I don't know, I know I don't sound very optimistic, I hope I'm wrong, but it doesn't look good at all.

  3. I´m not sure about how the Skink priest  Star-stone Staff works:

does it let a unit of salamanders run, shoot and charge, all three actions in the same turn?  The "and/ or" expression confuse me a little bit.

    Thanks in advances

Well it says you must set the unit of nurglings up so that it is in cover. This means the unit must be wholly within a terrain feature. I dont think there is a way to fit the nurglings wholly within a gnarlmaw.

Mmmh sorry, I think I didn´t explain well.

Imagine a game Nurgle vs Nurgle. Player A is going to set up Gutrot at the end of his first movement phase wholly within 6 " of the edge of the battlefield. Does Gutrot also need to be set up further than 9 " from the enemy Feculent Gnarlmaws as Feculent Gnarlmaws are enemy scenery models?

  5. I´m not sure if I should post this question in this forum or in the "Rules question" forum but as it is related to Nurgle I would like to share it here:

in the Feculent Gnarlmaw description it says it is a scenery model. Should the enemy consider Feculent Gnarlmaws when making special deployments when the rule says to deploy units more than X " from enemy models (i.e. Gutrot or Nurglings abilities)?

    Thanks in advance

  6. Hi all,
after visiting this great forum and learning so much from you, I´ve decided to register myself so I can participate much more.
As I newbie, I have some questions (very basic ones I suppose):

    - If I cast Foul Regenesis at the start of my turn to reset the Cycle of corruption to Rampant disease, does the effect apply immediately (1D3 mortal wounds to 1D3 units?

    - If in last battle round Cycle of corruption stage was at 5.Nauseous revulsion and now it moves to 6.Rampant disease, can I cast Foul Regenesis to reset the stage again to the same  stage (Rampant disease) to apply the damage twice in the same hero phase?

    Thanks
