    Hey ya Gitz,

I am thinking about starting a new AoS army and want some input from experienced Gloomspite players. The whole idea is to take a slow approach and not buy a large amount of models and have them sitting around and be soon after forgotten about. So I just planed the first 500 points and an expansion to 1000 points.

Without further ado here is the 500p starting list.

    Allegiance: Gloomspite Gitz

    Leaders
    Skragrott, The Loonking (220)
    - General

    Battleline
    20 x Stabbas (130)
    - Pokin Spears & Moon Shields
    6 x Squig Herd (70)
    6 x Squig Herd (70)

    Total: 490 / 500
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 200
    Wounds: 50

And with an extension to 1000 points I thought about a list going into this direction, but I am unsure what to spend the remaining points on.

    Allegiance: Gloomspite Gitz

    Leaders
    Skragrott, The Loonking (220)
    - General
    Fungoid Cave-Shaman (90)

    Battleline
    40 x Stabbas (260)
    - Pokin Spears & Moon Shields
    6 x Squig Herd (70)
    6 x Squig Herd (70)

    Units
    10 x Boingrot Bounderz (200)

    Total: 910 / 1000
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 200
    Wounds: 94

I am open for critique on both lists, if anyone has some ideas I am glad to hear them.

Get a loonboss for your stabbas for 1k

Tossing around some Squig/Troggoth ideas. HoG the Hag up into whatever then she casts the Bowl to increase her threat range before casting her spell, then shooting, then charging. The Madcap, while inferior to the Fungoid, has an amazing scroll spell and would act as a mini retainer for the Boss as he moves up the field. Madcap casts his spell on the Boss to make him that much harder to kill. The Bounderz act as a flanking unit independent of everything else.

Thanks for all the advice above, I will almost certainly end up just putting some more Rockguts in but wanna try this first. Will be fun to see where it lands on the genius / idiocy continuum:

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 153

So basically it revolves around a Troggboss / Fungoid CP farm for rerolling 1s, negating battleshock and using CAs but also stacking so many minuses to hit that target priority becomes difficult for my opponent. With a good magic phase the majority of the army could be at least a flat -1 (Madcap with Fellwaters, Webspinner with Rockguts) and the alternative would be the Stabbas buffed with I’m Da Boss. It’s got some movement shenanigans and the knowledge that one of the little wizards could pop out a Purple Sun might just make them think twice (I could swap it for Shards for extra -1 to hit stuff).

It obviously isn’t competitive but I’m excited to see how it plays.

Instead of the endless spells drop the cauldron and purple sun ( u don't need them since ur only shooting for the -1 to hits anyways) and the loonboss and add another unit of fellwater or rockgut trolls for more presence on the board

At this point you could drop both the endless spells (with all ur magic don't think u need the cauldron anymore or the purple sun since they get one spell each and ur shooting for the -1 to hit) and the loonboss and add another fellwater trolls or rockgut but that's up to you

  11. Exactly what we’re saying are just advice by all means play fanatics like crazy if that’s the list u want to play. I assume most of us are not here to win super big competitions but to have fun and the chance at winning at the local store 😊

  15. And More!

We’re committed to keeping Warhammer Age of Sigmar as awesome as possible, and so, with this year’s General’s Handbook, we’ve gone the extra mile. Usually, books published in the immediate lead-up to the General’s Handbook would not see points changes. However, to make sure your Pitched Battles are as balanced as possible, we’ll be releasing an early (and free) points update to the most recent battletomes – for reference, that’s Skaven, Blades of Khorne, Fyreslayers, Gloomspite Gitz and Flesh-eater Courts. Keep an eye out for this – and the General’s Handbook 2019 FAQ – in early July.

In the meantime, you’ll be able to pre-order your copy of the General’s Handbook tomorrow!

Its gonna happen they were not able to get it into the generals handbook but point adjustments will happen for the gitz

  17. played a couple round using mostly troggoths and like most people are saying the amount of bodies lacking is noticeable. Here is an updated to a Themed troggoth army that has some big punches but also has some bodies to camp objectives and such. Can I get some feedback if possible.

The idea is to have the felwaters stick around the squig herds to give them the extra punch they need to kill whatever decides to go after them while the 2 death star units of rockguts run around and kill stuff taking objectives. The troggboss stays in the middle supporting where he's needed but only attacking things he can win, trying not to get bogged down. The shamans are there to hopefully generate CP for battleshock tests and casting their spells.

Thx. I was just mocking up the flesh to see how it would go with the orange.  I love a little flesh tone in my orc and goblin faces, but the skin is far from done.  Just trying to settle on a scheme for the cloaks as it will be the dominate color of the army. I am a little afraid the orange will not play well with my red squigs.  I will probably mock up a test squig rider and see how it looks.

I would consider something a tad darker if your gonna go with red Squigs. The orange in top or red is too much hot colors. Try contrasting with a darker color robe :)

  20. I've tried her a couple times now and she tends to be good for her cost. She has a big tool kit of abilities, but her damage is a touch low. Good at clearing out chaff or basic heroes. Seems to definitely beat out the viceleader and worth the 120 if you have space in a list.

would u take her over the Infernal Enrapturess?

  21. Are fellwater trolls better to use than rockgut trolls? New to Gloomspite Gitz like having a Troggoth/ Squig army theme. I was gonna do 2x24 squig herd and maybe 3 units of 6 rockgut but debating whether to have a 6x fellwater trolls instead or 2x3 fellwater trolls. Also is Morks mighty mushroom worth taking?
