I think the same and hopefully this will be the last edition to feature stormcast in the starter since they've now fought against every grand alliance. Having two different armies each time is just a breath of fresh air. Never played fantasy but always remember the high elf vs. Skaven box set which seemed so much more interesting
It is perhaps worth considering the value of Stormcast beyond "poster boys" or whatever. They're an incredibly accessible faction for new painters - big, chunky shapes, no faces. The fact that they've got helmets makes them way less intimidating for new painters to have a go at, much like marines are. The starter sets for both AoS and 40K at the moment are focused on factions that are easy to get looking half-decent for newcomers. I wouldn't expect to see a Stormcast-free starter any time soon. That ease of painting is a big, big deal when it comes to introducing the hobby to new people.

Judging by the rulebook for Cursed City, it's pretty clear that there are expansions planned. The quest book refers to its contents as "the first quest" in a way that very strongly implies that there will be more quests to come. After all, it's not much of a first quest if it's the only one!

Well, as per the email I just received, no factory production or online order dispatch for at least the next few weeks. I'm glad I've got a backlog to deal with!

Nobody in my area plays Kings of War, so I'm shifting back to GW. Looking to sell the following, or trade for Flesh-Eater Courts stuff. Happy to ship internationally, but buyer pays postage! Pics linked above, apologies for the horrors of my phone camera.
Postage for everything will depend on what gets bought - it'll be exactly what the post office charge me to send it!
3x unopened boxes of 10x abyssal dwarf devastators, £12 each.
10x abyssal dwarf devastators, assembled. £10
10x abyssal dwarf half breeds, assembled, one painted. £10
6x lesser obsidian golems, painted. £15
1x abyssal dwarf ironcaster on greater winged halfbreed, painted (rider is still unpainted). £20
2x abyssal dwarf overseers, unpainted. £5 each.
1x arhak soulbinder (OOP ironcaster with spider legs), as new. £10
20x slave orcs, assembled, with slavedriver. £10
20x abyssal dwarf warriors, unpainted, with command. Some converted. £10
20x lower abyssals, some new on sprue, some assembled but unpainted. £10
10x dwarfs with guns, new on sprue. £5
1x dwarf cannon/organ gun, new on sprue. £5
Happy to combine purchases for a discount, or throw some more bits in there! I think I've got some other stuff for all those armies, I just need to find it.
I've also got a large KR case for storing the army. If you're interested in a large part of the set, I'm happy to throw that in too for minimal extra cost. -

This is their biggest downfall. I bought an eidolon of mathlann to convert to be my varghulf. Maybe hes a little big, but its gonna be sweet.
That sounds AMAZING. What are you planning on doing to it?

Varghulfs are amazing, I took a 3 tours local tournament with a list running 2 varghulfs, not summoned, they are really good
Mind if I ask what the rest of that list was built around? I kind of want an excuse to play around with the model and see if I can make something interesting out of it.

I'm pretty new to FEC so may be missing something obvious, but... I can't see any good reason to take a Varghulf in any list. Does anyone ever use them? What can they do that the other courtiers can't do better?

I'm just crawling back into AoS after being furious at the death of the Old World. I still miss a lot of that John Blanche aesthetic, but... AoS is really fun. It's been a long time since I found a wargame this accessible and engaging. I kind of feel bad about that initial reaction now...

Absolutely agreed - there's some really grim yellow peril stuff here that ties into the earliest WFB "mongolian" hobgolins, which were awful. I hope that it's largely a casualty of the studio paint scheme, though - with a greener skin tone they might look a lot better. The rest of the box is really nice, though, so I'm hopeful!
