  1. One great thing about how the AoS lore has been handled and written so far is that GW clearly intends to leave room to introduce new units in the future. Aside from the aforementioned factions with new units mentioned, there's also the Daughters of Khaine, where it's heavily hinted there's more Melusai that isn't just the types we have right now.  There's also the Skaven where a whole Great Clan went through a gnawhole in Aqshy, and has been missing since then. This way if GW ever wants to make a new Great Clan along the five we already have, they could simply reappear with a new theme (though I presume we'll get updates to our current great clans first before that).

But out of curiosity, the book “siege of Excellis” and the assumption we are getting siege rules and all of that, has ever been validated or is just one of those speculations that took hold and is given as granted?

Hm, didn't Wrath of the Everchosen come with siege rules? Would they come with two siege based rule expansions in a row?

I see Valaya listed as sister to the other dwarven gods, but isn't she their wife?

    Yes.

To elaborate, Grungni, Grimnir and Valaya all sprouted into existence together, and Valaya is married to both Grungni and Grimnir. So they are all brothers and sisters and husbands and wife. It's not really blood-related, but they are referred to as such.

  4. I believe it's been mentioned that Nagash wants to have nine Mortarchs, the same as his Nine Books of Nagash. If that is true, we will get 4 more Mortarchs on the way, and each Mortarch is basically a demigod in terms of power and with their own personalities.

Here's hoping for a Deadwalker Mortarch and a Deathrattle Mortarch (Krell?) each leading expanded zombies and skeletons (in the wight aesthetic).

  5. I actually like the idea for Destruction, splitting up Gork and Mork (and maybe eventually them having their own models too), but I do not think that Death should have another god on the level of Nagash. Death is characterized by Nagash's absolute order and iron grip upon it so that there are no genuine threats from within his own faction, the extreme opposite of Chaos where they bicker with each other just as much as the other Grand Alliances. Order has that internal strife as well, and Destruction is.. Well, destruction. Death not having as much of that gives them a reason to exist without just being the other Alliances but more.

That being said, that does not mean I don't think that Death shouldn't have internecine conflict. They should give Ushoran a model and bring him back to openly defy Nagash with the FEC that he can wrestle out of Nagash's control, and having other Death factions that turn against Nagash would be quite interesting as well. That being said, they shouldn't be god-level or capable of stopping Nagash themselves - just powerful enough to pose a threat that Nagash cannot destroy without committing his full attention. And seeing as Nagash is waging a war against 3 other Grand Alliances as well, he will not have the ability to give them his full attention.

Basically, Nagash should be the supreme power of Death, and those fighting him should operate more like rebellious cells that cannot overwhelm Nagash themselves, but have to pick and choose when to fight to take small victories on the fringe of Nagash's grip.

I see these mentioned factions not as hints to come but as inspiration of what you can do.

Grotbag scuttlers are already a thing, convert a khardron army.

Underwater sylvaneth are already a thing, convert some deepkin.

Of course it's not beyond the realm of possibility that these will be released but I think it's more an inspiration thing.

While I agree with you about the Sylvaneth, I am very dubious about the Grotbag Scuttlers being meant to just be conversion bait. Unlike most everything else mentioned or hinted at, Grotbat Scuttlers actually are capitalized as proper nouns and called as such all the way since Kharadron 1.0, and have been mentioned in Gloomspite and the new Kharadron 2.0 battletome as well. The reason I feel strongly that they are a planned faction is because the last faction that was mentioned in a book with capitalization in the middle of a sentence was Idoneth Deepkin in the Daughters of Khaine book, and we know what came of that. Basically, if they were just meant to be goblin sky pirates, they probably would have just mentioned them as "grot sky pirates" or other such descriptions instead of the exact same faction name every time, capitalization and all.

  7. I want to point out though, rereading the story point and how it goes along with newer information from people with a copy:

    Spoiler

It's much more of a case of this was a probing assault by Katakros to properly assess Archaon at full strength. It's not a true loss at all, because Katakros full intended for the siege of the Varanspire to fail in the sense of taking the Varanspire. He knew the siege would force Archaon to play his full hand, and then Katakros would get first-hand information of his strength and characteristics, with no cost to himself (since he has like a hall of backup bodies lined up back in the new fort he created in the Allpoints). So he returns to his stronghold there, and can now prepare a proper long-term campaign to take the Eightpoints from Archaon. So this was less a "lose the battle, win the war" it was more like "I do not know what my foe is capable for, so let's lure him into showing his hand so that I might plan around it". Reading that, it really doesn't seem like Archaon won at all - if anything, even though he destroyed the besieging army, Katakros out-planned him every step of the way, showing off his tactical genius. I actually think Katakros came off better in this, especially after he basically stomps all of Chaos until Archaon.

  8. Yeah, I also watched the video, and from what I can see, that is basically how it ends.

    Spoiler

Olynder gets killed (not permanently) by Belakor and Archaon takes out Katakros (though also not permanently since apparently his soul moves over to a new body,  which should be completely new yet he still feels pain from where he was killed by the Slayer of Kings). It also seems like that was just the attack on the Varanspire itself, and the Death still holds some lands and has one of their Ossiforts or whatever in the All-Gates. He still continues to plan attacks and does intend to take down the Allpoints for Nagash, so this was more him pushing as deep as he can and seeing how deadly a foe Archaon was.

Edit: Rereading it again, seems like the whole point of this campaign was actually just that - Katakros testing Archaon and Chaos' full might before planning out a full, proper campaign.
