Maybe! To be honest, I'd really hope the Gargants aren't super specialised - ideally they'll (all) be able to at least participate in each of the active phases of the turn, i.e. all having some sort of command ability, spell, or prayer, as well as a ranged attack and a melee attack. Having some be more focused on range or melee would obviously be fine.

Wishlist: I want to see an action hero Gargant firing a Great Cannon in each hand. I want a hunter/falconer-type with a siege bow and a massive bird of prey (a Roc?) that they set on people. I want a brawler that's wielding a carriage in one hand and a team of screaming horses in the other. I want a giant priest, hunched over, carrying an entire uprooted church and steeple on his back and swinging a huge censer.

Man, there are so many cool things that could be done with Gargants. I expect to be a little disappointed in whatever actually gets released, because the limits of practicality are always a downer compared to imagination.

    you sir, are a prophet!!!

  2. Im still excited :) and points wise, I dont think its a pure elite army. But it's probably shaping up to be an army that you can play as elite, or a bit more like a horde.  I mean for 1000 points you'd probably field 10 spearmen, 10 archers, a hero like Eltharion, the wind mage and 4/5 cavalry. Meaning something like:

    20 spearmen: 2 x140
    10 archers: 140
    5 cavalry: 180
    Eltharion: 180
    Wind Mage/Veiled Lady: 200

    Total 980 pts.

Or remove ELtharion and the lady to include a mountain avatar which could be like 300 points, so then leaves you a bit more space for a cheap hero/caster?

Then for 2000 points you probably increase spearmen, include Teclis (500pts) and another mountain avatar (300)?

  3. UPDATE: NO SELLING OR SHIPPING FOR ANY GW MODELS - until at least 31st May 2020

GW distribution centers and factories are closing down. GW sites will no longer be processing online sales and there will be no shipping. So it only gets worse. :(

We have today issued a trading update as below.

Trading for the Group in the nine months to the end of February was in line with expectations. However, in March since the COVID-19 outbreak has spread more widely, the Group’s performance globally has been impacted.

In response to official guidance announced today in both the UK and US, we will be temporarily closing globally all of our stores, headquarters, factory and warehouses with immediate effect. Where possible, our staff will continue to work from home. Our priority is the health and wellbeing of our staff, their families and our customers.

As the situation develops, we will provide an update on the possible impact of these necessary actions on the Group’s performance for the year to 31 May 2020 and going forward.

I also just made the move to the Mawtribes and ordered 2 Feast of Bones sets and a Beastclaw Raiders SC box. Somehow I don't like the Ironblaster so I'm looking for help in building a 1000 pt list with the rest of the units from these boxes

  5. After playing just 2 1000pt games I was disappointed by everything but my Kurnoth Hunters with scythes. What a beasts! They are incredibly sturdy with their armor save re roll and deal insane amounts of damage! Cant leave em out!

    NEW SYLVANETH MODELS!

Not expecting them to be of much use in AOS, but still, NEW SYLVANETH!

Here's hoping we get some Endless Spells soon too.

Yeah they look amazing. I'm not sure I will be playing Warband stuff so I hope to use them in AoS matched play. And I assume the right model will be happily used as the new Branchwraith worldwide :)
