Here is the list I'm most happy with, I haven't quite decided if I'd drop the AoSea for a turtle since the model is so cool and specifically what loadouts I should go for on characters, the list is effectively helping me to decide what to buy.

    Aspect of Sea

    Isharann Soulscryer

    Volturnos

    2 x 3 Morsarr

    2 x 3 Morsarr

    30 x 1 Thralls

1820 so far, I don't hate this list as much as the others because I literally don't want to be working on more than 15 Eels at the absolute most.

    Thoughts would be appreciated 🙂

    I agree with aelven supremacy's experience my favorite "fun" list is akhelian corp with volturnos and a unit of 3 sharks. Ive tried working AoSea in so many lists since ive been running only idoneth since December and he just hasn't impressed nearly as much as AoStorm. Now my current "competitive" list that isnt completly eels is;

(General) Akhelian king, born from agony, cloud of midnight

    Isharann soulscryer

    Isharann soulscryer

    Isharann tidecaster

    12x morrsarr guard

    3x Ishlaen guard

    10x thralls

    20x thralls

    5x khinari heartrenders

    20x eternal guard

    Prismatic palisade

A few notes im still debating switching out some thralls for reavers,  endless spell is still a work in progress, and debating changing the king with volturnos.

So far ive just played a game against seraphon and Legion of Nagash. In the seraphon game the morrsarr chased down the teleporting slann. The 20 thralls crumpled against his big dino and unit of their cavalry, 10 thralls stomped his other big Dino that teleported into the back board. In the Nagash game morrsarr killed 50 grimghast reapers and Nagash, both groups of thralls crumpled.

Is it worth the double Eidolon?

I am new to AoS and at the moment  i do like a lot both of the lore (and models) of the Idoneth and Gloomspite... Just i do not know how I should pick the army... Any suggestion?

So depends what you are looking to get out of it. Looking for an easy competitive list go akhelian, mostly eels. Looking for fun, narrative, or meta breaking go namarti. Ive ran a double eidolon, namarti corps list and while a blast to play i think i won 2 out of 10 games. However switched to an 18 eel list, turtle, eidolon, and akhelian king list and haven't lost yet in my local group. Granted i only started the list i am 5 for 5 against nighthaunt, new flesh eaters, and stormcast. So just depends what you are looking for and play style.

Just watched it yesterday! Never thought about the pressure of the deep spell and battleshock half a unit out from breaking continuity.

  4. Lets be honest not a lot we have is going to be very competitive against a whole dragon list. Especially if they take royal menagerie battalion. They out move, out save, and out punch almost everything we have. So my goal is to mainly de-buff and frustrate my opponent. Then buy him a beer after his dragons chomp through everything I've got.

Namarti should shredd any puny dragon in one go ^_^

Thats my hope! My one hang up is enclave. Do i go with Morphann so i can get a solid 6 namart plus 2 d3 with my 2 soul renders. Or go for reroll all failed hit rolls when charged?

  6. Yea its going to be rough. One guy in my local group runs FEC so my answer to avoid his gristlegore is an Eidolon heavy list. Possibly Nautilar so i can stay turtled up on my objectives. And try sword of Judgement on the storm shoal. The other idea is Morphann and just throw boddies at his dragons to hold em up until the eidolons can handle em.

    Greetings!

I started playing with the idea of making a Deepkin army. My local meta usuall plays 1250 points, and i would like to know if this list is viable. Model looks and variety to me are more important than winning but i would like to know if this list would work out. I really hate the Namarti looks so i plan on completly avoiding it.

    General - Akhelian King

    2 x 3 Morsarr Guard

    2 x 3 Ishalen Guard

    1 x Leviadon

    Total 1220 pts.

Also i would like advice on Enclave and Artifact.

    Thanks!

Welcome to the sea floor! I like both lists. I think you will have fun with either group. Personally I'd go eidolon if i had to choose between turtle or eidolon.  Mostly because the lore can give you a spell to give cover. But the eidolon is also more flexible,  and volturnos cant have artifacts so the eidolon can get the one. As far as enclaves and artifacts go for an akelian list is recommend feuthan. Turn 2 and 4 run and charge, and everyone rerolls ones to hit. Mounts always reroll ones to wound. Then artifact is up in the air, depends how you play, ive found more use it off the gryph-feather charm out of ghur, -1 to hit bearer and +1 to movement.

Hi, with the thread dead I may as well spam with another list which, in retrospective, is quite similar to Akhelian Snail's 😂

However, mine is a bit unorthodox as I will go Briomdar and put the Reavers, chunky Thrall block and Aspect of the Sea in the enemy's face. Tsunami of Terror + Tide of Fear to ruin someone's day. Not-optimal but I want something to spice us up (beside the tried and tested Reverse Fuethan).

Only problem I have? It's 2040 points, and I don't know where to make the cut. Basically everything is untouchable but the Ishlaen and Morrsar. Either I remove the 3 Ishlaen and split the Morrsar in two 3 strong units (100 spare points) or remove 3 Morrsar (120 spare points). I know I don't give you much choice 😆 which one seems less weak?

I know something similar could be done with Steed of Tides and a different Enclave, but I would lose a spell. Plus, this gives me flexibility in case I decide to ambush other units depending on the opponent.

    Without further addo, the list:

    Allegiance: Idoneth Deepkin
    - Enclave: Briomdar

    Leaders
    Isharann Soulscryer (100)
    Akhelian King (240)
    - General
    - Trait: Born From Agony
    - Artefact: Cloud of Midnight
Eidolon of Mathlann, Aspect of the Sea (440)
    - Lore of the Deeps: Tide of Fear

    Battleline
    20 x Namarti Thralls (280)
    6 x Akhelian Morrsarr Guard (320)
    3 x Akhelian Ishlaen Guard (140)

    Units
    10 x Namarti Reavers (140)

    Behemoths
    Akhelian Leviadon (380)

    Total: 2040 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 106

I like the list, i'm planning on running mine once my morrsarr eels come in. I'll share my experience and thoughts on it. My one thought is I'm just not sure on reavers, my local group plays flesh eaters, stormcast, another idoneth,  and nighthaunt. So far the only time I've seen reavers shine was the other idoneth player vs.  Me. And it was reavers on reavers.

  9. Yea i agree with the comments so far my biggest hope and goal for this army is to either give my opponent either too many big guys to go swing at ben volturnos, eels, leviadon, or mathlann.  Or to give them enough debuffs with cover from two sources, and -1s to hit that they either over commit or turtle up and let my eels claim objectives.

  10. So here is my list, the plan is take the eidolon, tide caster, and thralls with the soulscryer. Keep the eels and turtle with volturnos.

Turn 1 drop in my soulscryer and company either on backline or next to a back objective. Akelian unit moving up to mid board and capturing objectives.

Turn 2 onward. Tidecaster cast the balewind vortex and abyssal darkness,  eidolon casting cloying sea mist, tsunami of terror, or vorpal maelstrom. Send the morsarr guard against any big heavy thing that worries me, put the ishlaeen into keeping other heros busy. Thralls defending the tidecaster and soulacryer while they pray to keep the eidolon fighting and sending the eidolon to fight the backline. Keeping him within 15" of the tidecaster to keep cover. King staying within 12" of turtle.

  11. Hey everyone! So I'm working on a new list to try out this week. But I'm torn on what artifact to give my Eidolon of the sea.  He is going to be running with the turtle so he will (hopefully) keep cover. But I'm looking at either an artifact to make him -1 to hit. The artifact that lets him reroll save rolls of 1 on random damage attacks, or the black pearl ignoring wounds or mortal wounds on a 6. Any thoughts?

  12. Okay so my 2 cents on the leviadon. I love that model. He looks cool, can put out some mortal wounds with his chomp. Especially turn 3 if you spam the king or volturnous's command ability on him. And he is a blast to move around the board. But in my opinion he would be better if he either droppep a few points in cost nothing major, maybe 340 instead of 380. Give a little wiggle room to squeeze him in other 2000 pt lists. Or if his cover ability was changed to +1 to save. That way you could play as aggressively as idoneth need to be played without losing that extra save.

I say thats my 2 cents because i played a 1250 pt game last night against wanderers. And instead of the leviadon i took the Eidolon of Mathlann with abyssal darkness spell (cover for units wholly within 9") and in my opinion that worked better because not only did the eidolon benefit from his own cover if a unit got outside of 9" i just healed them with the cloying sea mist. And the whole match my eidolon only went down at most to half health and i mist have healed 20 wounds back to him. So with the eidolon doing what the leviadon does plus healing and only costs 60 pts more i would rather have the flexibility of the Eidolon. Even though for now im keeping the Leviadon for my akhelian battalion.

Allopex and Leviadon, what do people think of them, why are the sharks rarely seen?

I really enjoy the Leviadon. Its a great support piece that does decent damage. Me personally i enjoy the sharks too. I have a 3 shark unit ive brought to all (both) games I've played with deepkin and they have been my main damage dealing unit, (as they should be). But the reason i think a lot of people dislike them is because they don't really do anything special but do damage, their only ability is they reroll charges if any enemy within 12" has taken a wound. They don't get cover because they are monsters with 8 wounds. And points cost you can bring another unit of just about anything that does "do" more, be that with mortal wounds, shielding, or just bubble wrapping with chaff namarati. Or in my case i could drop my whole 3 man unit and bring an eidolon to change how my whole list runs.

Hi, I'm a new Deepkin player (well, mostly just the owner of a ID battleforce :D ).

I wanted to know your opinion on one matter: is the Soulrender worth it without Mor'phann and/or Namarti Corps? I like the concept and model, and I would like to use Thralls and Reavers (MSU or not). But in a Fuethan Reverse Tide list (which I would favour) only 1d3 casualties and mediocre CaC punch don't seem like a lot for 100 points.

    Hey fellow Tadpole!

As of right now I'm not too impressed with any of the Isharann heros. But the Soulrender is my favorite fighting wise because he seems the one that can actually swing a bit!

  15. Yea that was my other big mistake was deployment! Next game i will focus more on bubble wrapping. And Nighthaunt is a difficult army. I didn't realize how much i relied on rend to get some attacks through, and how cheap their units are.

On side note if my tidecaster wiffs again on all her spells and prayers she is going to be named Dory!

  16. Hey everyone, just finished my second battle with my fishes against a nighthaunt army. Unfortunately i lost, due to a lot of reasons, most my own. First starting off set up we read the battle plan for shifting objective wrong so we wound up seeing up 36" away from each other. And i certainly chose the wrong spell and artifacts for my tidecaster and soulrender.

Turn 1 nighthaunt teleported onto the main objective, brought 20 main unit of buffed bladegheists and charged into volturnos and my leviadon. Almost killed volturnos and leviadon. Managed to pile in allopexes and those 3 took out the unit. And thats basically how this whole match went.

Turn 2 i got to obective 1 but couldn't take him off the objective. Also lost the leviadon to second 30 man wave of grimghast. I captured objective 3 with eels, he got the objective 2.

Turn 3 spammed volturnos command ability. Took objective 1 with allopexes killing grimghast, and eels killing his hero there. Lost one unit of eels on third objective to 12 buffed myrmourn banshees. Failed the charge with thralls and 30 shots with reavers into those banshees turned into 4 successful wounds and they saved all 4.

Turn 4 lost another unit of eels on objective 1 to buffed chainrasp and hero combo. Volturnos tried taking objective 2, he got the charge, failed the 2+ mortal wound. Then failed every hit even with re-rolls. Banshees on objective 3 charged my reavers got to fight immediately killed that unit of 10, then got to pile in and killed my unit of 10 thralls. Volturnos finally died to the hero on objective 2.

Turn 5 Allopexes killed the unit of chainrasps tried to charge the hero on objective 2 but failed. Soulrender and tidecaster died to the myrmourn banshees.

So quick digest of the battle allopexes were the MVF (most valuable fishes) doing the majority of damage for the whole battle. Other errors i forgot the gloomtide shipwreck ranges a couple of times. Changes to be made (especially against nighthaunt), changing the spell for my tidecaster from abyssal darkness to arcane corrosion, change todecaster artifact from talisman of the watchers to... right now I'm thinking either kraken tooth or rock jaws from ghur (open to suggestion) change soulrender artifact from brain barnacles to maybe mind flare.
