  1. Is there a chance someone would be willing to take a picture or two of their mawpot? Next to a glutton if at all possible? I'm thinking about putting together one from scratch  and just want an idea of the scale I should be aiming for. Thank you in advance!

I'm kind of wondering about that. The way Skaven deal with them is just massive amounts of spells. Just blocking lanes, slowly chipping them away. It's pretty much a counter list which I don't see doing well in general. But maybe multiple spelcasters with endless spells castled around the mawpot with several lines of gnoblars and 2/3 hard hitting units behind that.

No experience with it but it's something bouncing around in my head so thought I put it down ;)

That could be neat! If I can manage it I might try to get a few more games in to test out a few theories like that.  Someone smarter than I will probably have figured some clever list by then.

Greetings. I just rebased my Ogre Kingdoms army from the old world. My plan is to try to play it in a competitive enviroment next year. But I wonder how an army like Ogor mawtribes could compete with armies like Slaanesh? We feel like a depravity points buffet 😅

I don't have too many games  of the Slaanesh  matchup under my belt, but wow does it feel like an uphill battle. I feel like you would have to  lean towards a shooty list with some gnoblars to put up  a fight.  Besides that, I haven't had too many games that felt unwinnable. As for actual competitive play?

There was a pretty big tournament in Sweden last week with a Mawtribes player in Top 5. I believe the only game he lost was to the Slaanesh player. Obviously one placing  does not make conclusive evidence, and hopefully we'll get a clearer picture with more big tournies. But I feel like they're a very solid army to look into that can pull results.

I don't see much love for BCR, but I'm not sure why.

I think a lot of it is just because this is the first time that Gutbusters have had a battletome and all of the goodies that come with it. So there's gonna be a lean towards all of the excited  Gutbuster players wanting to discuss their brand new toys.  But I feel like It'll even out in the coming weeks as more and more people want to  explore the other side of the mawtribes.

Morning all! Been pretty quiet on the Ogor front it seems. Saw a post over on the Gutbuster FB page from a guy making a lot of Leadbelchers for his army. This prompted me to think about how we would go about doing that. I don't much believe in our shooting abilities since we have no way to buff it in any way outside of Damned terrain or the Burning Head Endless Spell.

But say we wanted to. I got to list building and decided to go all in on the shooting. 60 grots form a wall to protect all the shooting. Haven't kitted out the Tyrant since I'm not sure what his role should be. Maneaters can shoot decently well and are good in combat. Overcosted but good none the less. So here's a list I played with. I also added pics of the averages for the shooting and combat damage of the Leadbelchers. First is with d3 shots using 2 as the average, then their combat, and lastly using d6 shots as they stand still. I chose 21 as it's the median between 18 and 24. I'm not a math whiz. This is all up against a 4+ save.

So let's have a conversation! I go first and say I don't think their 12" range is worth it. 18" if you move.

Edit: Not even sure it's legal. Don't think I can squeeze the second unit of Maneaters with the match play restrictions.

I tried my hand at this  a little earlier. I'm not sure how 'faithful' you'd consider the list with the guts.

    Allegiance: Gutbusters

    LEADERS

    Butcher (140)
    Butcher (140)
    UNITS
    6 x Leadbelchers (280)

    6 x Leadbelchers (280)

    6 x Leadbelchers (280)

    3 x Ironguts (180)

    3 x Ironguts (180)
    3 x Ironguts (180)
    6 x Leadbelchers (280)

    ENDLESS SPELLSThe Burning Head (40)

    TOTAL: 1980/2000

definitely not the most optimized list, but the units of guts did a fantastic job in  keeping things off the belchers. I managed to get burning head off but didn't get as much value out of the  rerolls as I was hoping.  That being said, I really loved the idea of the ogre gunline and  might have to take another crack at this!

Sadly TK got scratched and are not viable for bigger official events.

If you have a nice local meta, you might try to get into the game using them and their compendium rules and points.

Since I don’t know what you really have in store, all the tomb guards can be graveguard, cavalry black knights and your Ushabdi can swing their blades morghast style size should fit. Heinrich sadly is a normal necromancer now...

so in a friendly environment you can progg a lot and use rule of cool. TK style deathrattle grand host list with tomb lord as wight king and sich to get an easy start. And have a cool and special looking army. Too bad for the chariots thou...

This makes me sad, but looking into a little more, At the very least I can scrounge something together that wouldn't be too far of a stretch.  As it stands,  I've got  40-some skeleton warriors,  archers, 20 tomb guard( although some of those are a problem cause they're mummies)  cavalry, mounted archers,  monsters like the giant and necrosphinx, and a variety of the usual lords & heroes.

Sounds like most of the flavourful stuff and anything with a  bow is out.  But at the very least, I can do a bit of what you said, Skeleton warriors will be fine, the horsemen doesn't look like too much of a stretch for  black knights, Tomb guard for grave guard. I might even have to try doing a tiny bit of playing around with one of my mounted tomb heralds and see about making that a wight king (gives me an excuse to fix the horribly unbalanced model anyways)

  7. I don't know if this is the right place to pose the question but I'm in a weird spot:  Brand new to AoS, but I played some fantasy a while ago. My only current problem is that  most of what I have is  Tomb Kings. I have a few other weird things like a Heinrich floating around. So What I'm wanting to know is how much of my stuff is still 'usable' (take to tournaments without too much hassle)?
