  1. I was really hoping they'd bring the old Mangler design to plastic. I always skimped on getting one because people said it tends to sag over time from the weight of the Finecast, even if properly pinned. Plastic would have solved that. Maybe it'll still happen though.

regardless I think 2019 is going to be 40k heavy, judging by the fact that there going to be a Campaign set in Vigilus, that the models from the Chaos side of Blackstone fortress may signify a CSM release, plus the fact both Genestealer Cult and Sister of battle are releasing next year. and doesn't count out the possibility of Primaris or Ynnari release.

Still AoS probably will have at least 3-4 big releases like previous years probably Moonclan, Darkoath, Slaanesh, and maybe a totally brand new army (since every year so far their has been a new release army like KO and Deepkin) and AoS may get a few smaller release like new Seraphon/ Fyreslayer rework  battletome and Shadespire season 3. Of course it probably not as much as people are hoping for

Hopefully the focus for AoS in 2019 will be on consolidating armies to clean up all of the disparate, tiny factions and updating earlier army releases to bring them up to modern standard. 2018 laid a great foundation, just need to reinforce it.

What exactly is in the STD box chaps? Can’t see the image very well.

Hard for me to make out as well but I think I can see 10 Chaos Knights, a Chaos Lord on Manticore, a Chaos Warshrine, a Chaos Warriors Regiment and a Chaos Chariot? So around $250 worth, if that's the case.

Apologies if this has been  asked already. I see the people LoA can ally in to their force, but is there any reliable information on what armies can take LoA as allies? I want to add some artillery to my Nurgle force.

Their ally list is:  Chaos Gargants, Everchosen, Khorne, Monsters of Chaos, Nurgle, Slaanesh, Slaves to Darkness, Tzeentch

Pretty interesting video, not sure if anyone has discussed it yet - apparently FW changed one of their warscrolls without updating anyone about it. Wonder if there are more changes that we don't know about.

No big secret.  I emailed a list of interested people into GW and said please build some Skullcrackers!!!

I’ve seen lots of people wondering about the Skullcrackers but not seen anyone saying they had contacted GW

Did you ever get any substantive replies to the email? Still got a bunch of people waiting for the day it comes back ?

Although in a way, I suppose I do agree with you - I prefer that Darkoath and StD remain isolated as well, if only so that the StD models don't stink up what could be something that actually looks cool

I am glad we are on the same page then, lol.

Yeah man! It’s your priorities!* liking the Slaves to Darkness style better than Darkoath! Pffft, you must not have your pension in order as you don’t prefer the same thing as me!

You can clearly see, based on two loose hero models and some teased artwork, that Darkoath will be awesome! Even if you prefer faceless warriors marching perfectly in sync crushing all underneath their daemonic metal feet, to half naked Conan models...

dang, does this mean I need to get my priorities straight as well ?

    *not taste, priorities ;)

** all sarcasm, just in case it didn’t drip through enough.

Yeah the "reevaluate your priorities" line from that guy was pretty awkward and bizarre. That's a good summary of the image of Slaves to Darkness/Chaos Undivided as they are now and many people prefer it over, as you say, half naked Conan models, which is all we've seen from the two miniatures and sole piece of art so far. Very uninspired looking models that lack any sort of Chaos specific flare, they look like they could be from any other Fantasy setting. Of course this is entirely subjective and my opinion, I just said that I would prefer them to be their own faction.

    rumour engine for darkoath witch/shaman

Really hoping this is its own faction, rather than part of Slaves to Darkness. To me the aesthetic is way worse than any existing Chaos designs and I wouldn't want it mixed together.

  10. Not sure if anyone noticed, but Start Collecting! Greenskinz is gone. I never noticed until now.

EDIT: Wait, it's not, but when you click the Start Collecting checkbox it doesn't show it there. You have to manually go to the Greenskinz section to see it.

  11. Hope it's Chaos Dwarfs and not Darkoath. All we've seen of Darkoath is that they are generic and boring barbarians, at least with their two existing miniatures. Chaos Dwarfs are much more original and interesting.

  12. K'daii Destroyer would be a cool reboot. His old work-in-progress sculpt was remade to be Skaarac the Bloodborn who's great and all but he isn't for us. Ironsworn with great weapons, more Bull Centaur support - 2 more sets of 3 Renders for more poses, maybe with some great weapon support too. Maybe a Lammasu or another Bale Taurus, either the old one sold separately again or a new one.

  13. I don't really buy the story of the mold breaking to be honest. I'm no expert but as far as I can see, all of the parts that would've broken are small and should be easy to resculpt or reproduce, considering it's basically an Iron Daemon conversion kit.

I spent 280 on legion earlier this week - I’d probsbly opt in for a skull cracker as well

That reminds me, a lot of people are hesitant to spend money on the Legion of Azgorh now that we've lost a unit. Re-adding it would reassure everyone and make those who are reluctant to pull the trigger pull it.

Out of interest, how many people want a Skullcracker??

Me and I think a ton of others. Here's a poll that has it in the top 3: https://strawpoll.com/kbs7ddr3

If you can pull some strings and somehow get it returned or at least show them we want it that'd be amazing. If they're worried about people returning it because of breakage they should just make a plastic sprue with all of the fiddly bits on it.

The timing was unfortunate, with 2nd edition it would have had 10x the sales. Same with all of the old FW stuff we've lost.
