Hey guys, wanted to try and make use of the Blackshard Warhost, a block of iron with high bravey of 8 (with standard + warhost) that dishes out wounds whilst it's defending itself with spiteshields, ignores the first wound it takes cause we're ard as fu... and rerolling hit rolls of 1's (warhost) with maybe adding 1 to wounds rolls too (for 1 unit with the Castellan command ability)

Do around this block of iron which includes the standard and Castellan I have the Fireglaves to either shoot into whatever its fighting or defend the flanks, a Demonsmith hanging out with the deathrocket diving it 4 attacks instead of 3 hopefully firing on squads of more than 5 to get the 3's and 3's to hit and wound. I also gave the Demonsmith Soulsnare Shackles to put around the artillery piece and slow down anything coming too close.

All the while Draz makes the awesome bravery 8 a plan B but mainly to fly around the enemy lines and snipe what he needs to or cause enough cause for the block or Iron to make it up to the lines

It has potential but you'll find it to be quite hard to get objectives with. 4" even with a drummer run you can't really threaten much of the board and your guns aren't lethal enough to warrant them coming to you. Food for thought

(Edit i wish i had thought of that, again a thousand apologies) I'm starting to think I need more feet on the ground. These are the models I have what do you guys think would be the best build at 2k and what do you guys think I need to get.

I'm still re basing some models :)

    I have 2 extra bulls

I use the old big hats and use the forge world models for the newer units that don't have old models.

The poor tauruk and bull renders look so small these days! Love the blend of old and new as well. Also, a second magma cannon wouldnt be a terrible idea. Looks fun :)

I’m looking at Legion of Azgorh as used to have some chaos dwarfs back in the days of mono pose plastic axemen. I know this statement may make people laugh but looking at the data sheet fireborn now seem to be one of the best units in the game (bar bravery you need that command point for inspiring). Yet I’ve never heard anyone ever mention them (in real life discussions).

    Theyre quick

great damage output on 3” range weapons. Unit of 12 for 480 averages 40 wounds or over 60 when buffed.

Defence is pretty good at 10 points per wound at full unit size, on 5+ ethereal.

curious if anyone is playing a big unit of them out there? Seems a good addition to add speed and punch.

The biggest issue by far is that they aren't battleline so you need normal units first, and when you do that you start to see the issue becoming apparent that shartorr lead bull renders are easier to build synergy with when both are already included as your core. Add some guns and some blocks for objective holding and you start running low on points. They are great, especially as a second wave behind the bulls, but having them as an extra choice can make them an awkward inclusion at times

  4. I'd definitely put my hand up. Been thinking of kitbashing one with an Iron Demon Engine, taking the cannonades off  and combine with the deffrolla from the battlewagon, or fashion up a harness for the arms from a deff dread or killa kan

Belakor seems like a nice addition. Is he able to be a Legion of Azgorh Ally? I'm not sure what allegiance he falls under.

Oh good catch, he can't ally with them. Dang, I thought he had Slaves of Darkness

I just had great success in a local tournament with a similar list.  Instead of the deathshrieker and the ironsworn, I had Chronomantic Cogs, Aethervoid Pendulum and 20 Fireglaives.  I couldn't believe how well it went, I tabled all 3 of my opponents: Ironjaws, Beastclaw Raiders and Khorne.  I was sad though I wasn't able to test my list against more magic or gunline lists.  Blackshard armour makes us super resilient.

I feel like with this sorta list you'd struggle with out of place units. Having  such a strong frontline will weaken your back units as they won't be able to support them nearly as well.

To help I'd suggest dropping the block of ironsworn and swapping the fireglaives to 2x10, and adding in either some kdaai or more artillery. That way the Herd can do their thing whilst the rest of your army pumps out long range death. Splitting the fireglaives will help for deep strike armies too
