I feel like the new wyldwood rules have added so much clutter to a profile that was perfectly fine after the kragnos update. Sure, planting three trees at once with a 24" range for verdant blessing should be easy but it adds more busywork. Should have just stayed as the "up to three" imo

Is anyone else confused with the new changes to the wyldwood? I just cant understand why they changed it back after kragnos. It feels like another step backward for sylvaneth in general. The kurnoth change is fine and I am sad to see it go but the rerolling 3+ save was pretty obnoxious in the games I played. I am overall disappointed in GW for moving away from the kragnos profile and replacing it only a few months after releasing it...

Aren't you afraid of possibility opponent monsters destroy our woods?
Not really. We are in the best position to combat this since we can actively summon more trees while other factions cannot.

I was thinking to focus on sylvaneth this edition. Is not an easy army to play, a lot of buffs and I was wondering... how many wyldwood do u usually put on table? And how many of them u own???
I feel this mechanic is cool but having to buy so much wyldwood is a bit redundant and meh for me
I've been playing a few games with sylvaneth and I have found that two boxes(6 trees) has done well for me. I try to have a 3 tree circle deploy at the start of the game and then summon trees where I feel they are needed. The changes to the wyldwood have made it a little easier on the wallet for us.

So the branchwraith summons dryads and they cannot move. Can they teleport into another wyldwood because it is done instead of moving?

@ppetford I'm not totally convinced on the maelstrom. I might play a few games with it and try it out. Otherwise I'll run some other 20pt spell

Hey everyone, I've been going over the new sylvaneth point costs and the battletome and came up with a list for gnarlroot without allarielle. I definitely think that ghyrstrike is going to make durthu a beast in combat. I also think that the lamentiri will help the branchwraith get the dryad factory going.
Treelord ancient
- oaken armor
- gnarled warrior
- regrowth
300pts
Spirit of durthu
- ghyrstrike
380pts
Branchwych
- dwellers below
80pts
Branchwraith
- ranu's lamentiri
- verdant blessing
80pts
Battleline:
20 dryads
200pts
20 dryads
200pts
5 tree revenants
80pts
Other:
3 kurnoth hunters
- scythes
200pts
3 kurnoth hunters
- bows
200pts
Battalions:
Household
100pts
Gnarlroot wargrove
130pts
Endless spells:
Malevolent maelstrom
20pts
Soulsnare shackles
20pts- 1

I think its fine. We have units like treelords and tree revenants that can teleport without having to use the 1 teleport per round. Often times I don't feel the need to teleport more than one unit.
