Is there a KO discord server? These rumors are interesting. I like the sound of going for a melee or shooting build depending on which big ships you focus your army around. Also that steal a CP on a 5+ would fit well with Barak-mhornar, the sky pirate city.

im hoping for a mega gargant wizard and gargant endless spells. that would turn this army into the most hyped release for me. I dont know how you could make a terrain piece work for this army though. maybe like a cage or pen filled with helpless villagers that the gargants could use to heal from.

if I wanted to build a beast of chaos army that was very diverse in the amount of units I take what are some things worth taking but in smaller amounts. a lot of lists I see have upwards of 60 ungors and 40 bestigors and little to anything else. does any body run a mix of dragon ogres, bullgors, or regular gors mixed in with their masses of ungors and bestigors? I wanna expand on my collection but idk how many goats I can paint.

have people tried running blocks of gors with dragon ogres behind them with there 2" reach? sort of a stronger screen than the typical ungor bestigor combo? Anyone running gors now that they are cheaper with the ghb19?

Beasts of Chaos because I love throwing down hords of ungors on the field then sacrificing some to only summon more ungors. Also the ambush mechanic is really fun and good for messing up your opponents plan. I really love the giant most units and their models. they were also the army I played the most in total war Warhammer and that's what got me into Warhammer in the first place.

the throne sounds pretty rad. free cp is great especially with all the new stuff we need cp for in the new battletome.

Thanes and Ironbreakers and Hammerers -> Hearth and Hold -> Valaya -> ??? Something new
Could be really interesting to see an army focused on extreme defense. heck maybe there terrain piece could just be more terrain. walls and such.

So unfortunately Beastlord is not very good at all in an Allherd list. A Beastlord is basically an artefact-delivery system, so you should generally only run him if you can equip him with a good artefact (e.g. Gavespawn Mutating Gnarlblade, Volcanic Axe, Sword of Judgement). And the best way to play Allherd is to take Aetherquartz Brooch as your second artefact (taking a Battalion to get a second one) so that you can generate loads of command points for summoning.
Similarly, Bullgors are less ideal in an Allherd list. You generally want to buff your Bullgors with a Doombull's command ability, but in Allherd you want to be using your CP either for generating summoning points, or for ignoring battleshock.
If you want to run those particular units that you have in your list, then Gavespawn or Darkwalkers (or no Greatfray at all) would be better choices from an optimization point of view.
With regards to summoning, most commonly I summon Ungors, Raiders, Bestigors, Enlightened on Disk, Chariots, Warhounds, or a Chimera. Ungors and Raiders are good for stealing poorly defended objectives just by outnumbering your opponent, and Bestigors are good for challenging a small unit defending an objective. Chimera is good but I usually only summon it if I'm already comfortably ahead in the game and can safely bank summoning points. Each summoning point is worth roughly 20 points of units, and you get an average of 3 points per turn by sacrificing at the Herdstone. So on average you can summon 10 Ungors per turn. Allherd gives you an extra summoning point per CP spent, and Atherquartz gives you on average 1/2 a CP per CP spent.
For strategy, check out the Doom & Darkness youtube channel. He runs a Tzaangor- and Dragon Ogre-focused list, but has a lot of excellent advice regarding screening, movement, summoning etc.
If i wanted to expand the list i have what would you recommend for a gavespawn list? do gavespawn usually have chaos spawn in the army list or do they summon them in? thanks!

Hello! im new to Aos and chose beasts of chaos as my first army! i was hoping to get some advice on what to get to help me expand my collection so that i can get to 1000pts to play and eventually 2000pts! I think i want to do an Allherd army. just trying to figure out how to plan out my purchases. Plus what units should i get for summoning? Is the amount of summoning units pretty much a second beastmen army? Currently i have a start collecting box, a beastlord, a box of gors and a herdstone. so thats:
Beastlord (90)
Great-bray shaman (100)
10x Gors (80)
- Gor-Blades & Beastshields
10x Ungors (60)
-Ungor blades
10x Bestigors (120)
Ghorgon (200)
x3 Bullgors (160)
Current plans are to get one or two more start collecting boxes and a chimera. Any other advice on how to play the army and sort of the strategy that goes along with the units you recommend would be great! thanks

New dwarf army soon? Mixed dwarfs
in Order
Posted · Edited by clamo
From all the lore ive read there is something happening. In Soulbound Era of the Beast its said that Grungi talks about how he abandonded the dwarves and couldnt be the one to lead them then hints at Grombrindal leading the new dwarven faction.
So Im guessing its gonna be the lumineth realm lords but for duradin. Where the lumineth were a reimagining of classic fantasy high elves. We will see a reimagining of classic Fantasy Dwarves. The twist could be anything though, because I dont think anyone predicted that the high elves would ever be spiritual monks that sought enlightenment from giant spiritual cow mountains.
Possible twists on classic dwarves:
If the votann from 40k are indication I could see the new dwarven faction playing similar to Maggotkin of nurgle. Slow and hard hitting but with grudges to settle.
Sidenote: It would be really cool if we got an avatar of Grungi like how Gotrek is an Avatar of Grimnir. A Kharadron Overlord/ Dwarven blacksmith/ tinkerer would be such a great character for Aos. Also would be rad if she was a lady dwarf because the setting has like zero of them in model form lol.
