green stuff noodles on a 32mm base it is then!

but how did you use them? any tips?

that's exactly what I am planning on doing haha. I'm going to try and make a mold of the original and cast a few of them in resin. They are pretty delicate though so if that doesn't work then little green stuff squigly's for sure!

I was bringing in the caller and snakes turn two since they are by far our fastest unit. Using them for objective grabbing or opponent chasing if they were running away with treasure. They don't take much of a punch but they dish out a decent amount of good attacks with nice crits. They are also low and can hide behind terrain. Small enough that people seem to underestimate them but when the caller gives them a bonus attack action they can rack up the damage.

The pureblood hasn't done anything for me yet. Haven't really figured that guy out

    Thoughts on:

    Option 1:

    • Leader
    • Caller
    • Serpents
    • Pure
    • Venom Spear Shield
    • Venom Spear Shield
    • Venom Blades
    • Clear Blades
    • Clear Blades

    Option 2:

    • Leader
    • Caller
    • Serpents
    • Pure
    • Venom Spear Shield
    • Venom Blades
    • Clear Blades
    • Clear Blades
    • Clear Blades
    • Clear Blades

    Option 3:

    • Leader
    • Caller
    • Serpents
    • Pure
    • Venom Spear Shield
    • Venom Blades
    • Venom Blades
    • Venom Blades
    • Venom Blades

    Assume enough models for #2.

    Thanks for the opinions.

Are we allowed only one serpents, caller or pure?

I don't like repeat miniatures so unless GW releases different looking models for the Warcry Warbands I'm sticking to just one box. I'd love to be able to build all the options of the mini's but I won't be buying a second box when only 2 models will look slightly different. I already own the Godsworn Hunt and I guess I could use them to add to the Untamed Beasts... But I have no ideas for the Iron Golems or Corvus Cabal.

    Or Splintered Fang really

Maybe some dark Eldar, DOK? Maaaaaybe?

The whip is really underwhelming so I'd do the same. It's absolutely trash on the one with the shield but it can be okay on the one with a blade since you trade 1 attack for 3 small attacks at 3". You never know when you may need it.

    That's what I'm doing.

One with spear and shield and the other with whip and blade for those reasons. They're the same cost for more attacks as well

Well a lot of the damages come from critical hits so an extra toughness doesn't change as much as you'd think. A clearblood with blades has 4 attacks vs 2 for the shield (who can use the double). However I intend to put 3 clearbloods with shield in my hammer so they will often only need to take an objective and not use a lot of attack actions.

Yeah I suppose more attacks equals more critical chances huh.

In this case, double the chances

  6. Yeah I have some shields laying around to make some clearbloods with shield instead of two swords.

For only 5 points more it seems worth it for the tough 4. Especially since they only have 10 wounds.

looks like just one extra attack over the whip. I may be crazy but one extra attack does seem pretty good versus the whip (would need to try it first)

I really need to get these guys someday, they seem like a really good all around faction

Oh yeah, there isn't enough room to have another hidden row of weapon stats under there huh? Whip on the elf seems like a no brainer for the same cost then.

The other spear / whip guy not so much. My guts says spear for superior damage but that's a decent sized cost difference

  8. So I've been a Nurgle player since I started playing AoS but these Nighthaunt models are too gorgeous to pass up. I have to make a small 1k army at least to play and paint.

I acquired the starter set and need some advice on what to add to make a decent 1k since I'm extremely new to Ghosts/Death. (I'm used to things coming back to life, lol)

For what it's worth I love the Spirit Hosts models so I was looking at executioner horde but not sure if it's worth it? Also have a buddy who plays FEC so wondering what would be smart to build that maybe pairs well with FEC in doubles games also. If anything .

I may be wrong, but I think the situation here is actually worse than the PTWB situation. Hard to believe, eh? We can't include this battalion in a Nurgle army, because:

    1) The allegiance of this battalion is "Beasts of Chaos." Therefore, the battalion and all units within would have to come out of our allies points.

    2) I don't think we can take "Beasts of Chaos" as allies.

But that battalion gives all the models in it the Nurgle keyword.

The Games Workshop AoS app Azyr lets you add that battalion to a Nurgle army and does not count them as allies

Kenshin is right. You can field units with as many models as you have as per "Unit Size" paragraph on pg13 of core rules. In matched play, you have to pay for the rounded-up multiple of unit size; in this case, you would have to pay for 6 drones if you field a unit of 4, 5, or 6 drones. You cannot include under-strength units in battalions (pg15 core rules).

So you CAN just play 5 drones in a unit, legally, but...you are throwing 66.67 points out the window.

EDIT: And yes, a unit of 6 drones is very tanky and killy and fast/mobile. LoA is a good Daemon Hero to tag along, but I think Horticulous Slimux is comparable/better at the same amount of points. And a Verminlord Corruptor is the same amount of points as well. Chaos Lord of Daemonic Mount, Harbinger of Decay, and Daemon Prince are all cheaper while still fast enough to keep up. And a GUO with a Bell has always been the best choice in my book (always been fast enough to keep up in my experience) and provides the best support and people are often intimidated at the thought of trying to kill it. Give it Pestilent Breath and Endless Gift and it can wade through hordes of infantry alongside your flies.

I love the idea of Slimux going along because his free tree is fantastic!

Isn't he a little slow though to try and keep up with the flies though?

  11. Maybe that's why I like the model, I love Doom lol.

Totally agree though, it doesnt fit AoS at all and kind of puts a cramp on my fluffy style.

I think I might try it in my upcoming Leauge when I know guys are running Nagash at even 1k points. Just bum rush him, shoot, charge and then try and start taking chunks out of him ASAP until the grinder goes down

  12. All this Pestilens talk, I had wondered about the catapults.

Are they worth anything? Do anything?

I like the idea of having some no LoS required artillery shooting stuff long range while the rest of Nurgle does work. Haven't really invested much time or research into them though

10+5+5 if you want to take 20.  This is assuming you have 30 plaugebearers, if the 10 blightkings are your only "big" battleline units, maybe 2x10 would work.

I think in 2.0 I will try LoA general so that I can use Blightlords as battleline to give myself more flexibility.  It doesn't seem to matter who you make your general from the command ability perspective now...

I was wondering the same thing now. Other than the occasional "if this model is your general" special rule, the generals don't seem to matter. Other than having a target on their back?

Well. I'm never taking a block of 20 blightkings again.   I was relying too much on blades of putrification and throwing deaths heads at my enemy to do mortal wounds.  Unfortunately i played against nagash, and rolled poorly for spells anyway.    I think 10 is the max unit size for blightkings, and the main reason to even take a block that size is for the lord of blights / blades of putrification

Two units of 10 would have been better you think?

I was thinking of magnetizing mine too. I have not magnetized before but like I can understand how it's easily done on like... Knight arms. The guo seems like a different beast though, do you make holes and glue tiny ones to the plastic, or do you like glue a big one to the side inside the arm? Pics please if possible! Thanks.

Some spots like the neck are super easy to magnetize since you can just drill a hole and pop the magnet in. Other spots like the hollow weapon arms were filled with a blob of greenstuff to hold the magnet.

I'll try and remember to get pics when I get home tonight

    • Thanks 1
  16. With a grand total of 2 AoS games under my belt I'm going to try..

    GUO

    Poxbringer

    LoA

    30 Plaguebearers

    20 Plaugebearers

    5 Blightkings

    3 drones

    3 drones

    3 drones

Needless to say, I have a bunch of drones and I love em'. Figure the LoA can keep up with them as "King" Drone and give locus to everyone. Bks are in there to try them out
