I doubt it, things will probably change though. I can envision Blightkings falling out of favor for Plaguebearers, Maruaders with a pile of character support, Archaon shenanigans and maybe even some battalions considered bad seeing some new testing like Tallyband or Menagerie.

Did it get an errata or something? Book says nurgle hero

Thanks for the replies! Keep in mind though I’d only have a single caster at most.
On a side note I hate spells as a solution. The entire system is just Farkle with more consequences(depending on what type of Farkle you are playing). Admittedly most of that is due to the fact that I typically can’t get more than one spell a game to stick but that’s another problem entirely.
As to the objective thing, that depends a lot on which one is being played and even still between 40 skeletons spread out an inch apart and dogs it isn’t hard for the LoN player to compete.

At 1000 your options are very limited
I'd recommend Gutrot and a 5 pack of PBKs to drop behind their lines right as you hit the front. thats my only thought for that point level.
Maybe a Lord of Affliction or another flier
as an ally, there's more options.
40 Skeletons makes for a whole lot of bubble wrap, just can’t physically get to them. I’m a-okay if the answer is “Nurgle can’t beat LoN before 1250-1500”, just figured I’d pose the question.

I'm pretty sure I didn't say that. Both PTWB and Blades were 2 excuses to bring Marauders. Now they aren't.
The secret to fighting death is to kill the heros. If you bring no tools to get past the hordes, you will probably get stuck.
Right, kind of the whole issue. Nurgle isn’t exactly known for hero sniping. Before it gets mentioned we do have a few spells that can finish a hero but trying to take down a Necromancer and a Wight King with d3 damage a turn if you get lucky isn’t exactly reliable.
So better question then, at 750- 1000 points how do you delete characters with a Nurgle list.

While we are talking about skeletons, my main opponent is a LoN player who runs a 40 block of them with support characters. Fully tooled he is getting 160 attacks in a combat phase out of just that squad. Couple that with LoN ability to return piles of models to the field in their hero phase and end result is I’m about 0-14 so far.
Worst example is a I get a turn two charge off with my entire list, drop his dogs to one mode, chunk the skeletons for 12 or so. At the start of his movement he had brought everything save for one dog back.
Is Nurgle just not capable of dealing with it at low point total games?

Chaos Lord with free Demon Prince upgrade will be so interesting
Oh yeah, I am all looking at running 2 or 3 lords in my lists. Feels like the other guy will have to spend time trying to keep their generals away from. They are actually fairly competent melee combatants to boot!

Since I doubleposted, here's a link to the post GW explains it.
I am not seeing anything in that faq that explains anything. Also worth noting it is ultimately up to your opponent/TO.
Locally everyone builds out of the app.

Having the Nurgle keyword doesn't make them battleline. Toads aren't battleline, drones aren't battleline and they have the keyword.
App says toads are battleline, is that also wrong then?
Of course drones aren’t battleline, they aren’t for anyone.

Um no..... they are only "pestilens" battleline.
Okay, app might be wrong but they do have the “Nurgle” keyword so stands to reason in a “Nurgle” army they would be, and currently are according to the app.

Hi guys just a quick question
Can you make plague monks battle line for a maggotkin army?
While you can’t make monks battleline for Maggotkin proper there is no reason at all you can’t just run “Nurgle” where they are.

I’m looking at something like;
Archaon
Glottkin
GUO with bell/dagger
Maruaders /toads for battleline
Chaos dogs for chaff.
Basically an army built around making Archaon unstoppable and giving him a reasonable first turn charge.

The second these guys get a battletome I am in there like swimwear. I’ve actually already picked up a manticore, snake lord, some Marauders and Warriors and a Shrine!

I think nurglings now are very good helping to get contagion points, too bad they enter not in hero phase but at the end of movement
I thought that at first but it might be better to just spend another hundred and get a unit of drones who’s primary purpose is to get into the other zone turn one.

I’ve played a few 2.0 games by now and agree on the magic front. Blades just isn’t something to count on now, or Magic in general outside of Dagger GUOs.
My other observation is summoning has very little impact on the game. Even late game objective play is tricky.
As sad as it makes me I am pretty sure the top of the heap for us is going to either continue to be Plaguetouched or maybe something involving Archaon shenanigans.
Really bummed out that Menagerie seemingly isn’t viable and the Maggoth Lords remain over costed.

Not sold on a lot going on here from a competitive standpoint but looks fun! Been messing around with “plague skeletons” for a minute now.
