  1. Stormcasts for Sigmar's sake !!!

The man who didn't lose to anybody as a god (yes, when he was human, he maybe have lost his hammer somewhere, sometime ago, but it happens to everyone, right?).

Azyr is the place for partying. Fight to the death in the glorious pits and come back later (what are memories compared to a bro fight). Just drink from the bottomless mugs to forget what you forgot. Your place is (almost) free of the chaos ******, and if you find one, well…. you know what will happen to him/it. Just enjoy the moment.

Big shining armors, made by the finest dwarves ever. Big strong bodies, made from the magic of your beloved Sigmar. Look at these abs. Look at those big di…s Oups.

Oh, and yes, you can burn whole villages to the ground and get away with it….. nice, isn't it ? It's better than to fight savages and daemons anyway… as long as your soul remains pure !

Is there a unit in AOS who does damage or MW in a radius, but the same for all units ?
It would be interesting to compare wording for the sake of it.

Lord celestant on dracoth maybe ? It says each the same way as the prime. But it is mw on a 4+. So you have to roll for each unit i guess

She's not bad and KHs are good.  You could do Dreadwood with this build.  It is not too dissimilar as to what S&Ws was talking about a few pages ago in reference to Hugh Laurie's list that he, I think went 5-0 with?  3x5 Spites, 30 Dryads, Drycha, BWraith, Drycha, then a couple units of KHs, one Swords, one Scythes.   See where that takes you?

    Hi there,

Just established a list with drycha and alarielle in dreadwood like,

    Alarielle,

    Drycha,

    Arch-revenant

Branch.... the one with the dryad factory,

    Outcast with 3 x 5 spites,

    9 kurnoths with scythes,

    1 sptiteswarm hive.

Six units to set up is not that bad. Seems like a swiss knife to me. TP the khurnots where needed and enjoy.

If you take winter glade you can avoid this in later round by piling in during the hero phase then rooting in the charge, also rooting down doesn't specify whose turn so you can pile in further on your turn and and root on theirs if you want. I agree as well with my experience the 1" range hasn't effected my ability to get in range to attack with 6 swords.

    Hi there.

Noobie question here.... where do you get the piling in the hero phase please ? I think i missed something. ( SCE player spotted.... Sorry for not beeing sorry =)).

    Thanks fellow treemen.

I've been a bit out of the loop with this forum recently so apologies if this has come up before (I have tried searching for it and couldn't find anything).

If I summon 10 dryads in a wood using my branchwraith's Roused to Wrath ability, am I able to teleport to another wood using Navigate Realmroots that turn? Roused to Wrath says the dryads cannot move in the following movement phase and this is how I've been playing it - they sit in those trees. However, I had a thought that Navigate Realmroots is a set-up, right? Does this mean they could teleport?

If I may, it is a setup that count's as a movement. So you can't move afterwards. So i remember it anyways.

Can you? That's weird - I'm on the website right now, and regardless of my allegiance (Order, SCE, Cities) I only see the 220/280 point Celestial Hurricanum (with/without the Battlemage). Obviously you can put the Hurricanum itself in any Order army that it can be allied into, but I'm not seeing the 300/360 point version anywhere.

Regardless, I just don't think the Hurricanum really fits into what most good SCE armies are doing these days - it really feels like it wants to be part of a Death Star formation with several other wizards hiding behind a bunch of screens. I'm sure there's an SCE list out there that could include it, I just don't think it synergizes well with our units and what we're typically trying to do. Those 280 points could potentially be spent on bodies (10 Sequitors) or shooting (2 units of 3 Hurricane Raptors) that we can deep strike instead.

Oh man, didn't check the warscroll in a while..... so frustrated that it is not an order buff anymore.... explaining the points drop also.

Well, i was going to get the cities battletome anyway. Thank you for your time, my questionning was misplaced 😃

     Dang !

On another note, the model in the attached picture has that Nighthaunt aesthetic - between the old three Mortarch's mounts, the Ossiarch Bonereapers and Nighthaunt, it's really easy to field an aesthetically coherent army consisting of the various forces of Death; I adore that a lot.

Agreed. I really like the global aesthetic this mini got. On the other hand, i hardly enjoy the dbz's "fffffffffuuuuusion"stance of the legs.

  8. Hi there.

    Some thoughts also.

My main concern is losing the ability to go first, with wargroves becoming free, like in the other books.

To me, playing sce, death, and std, this is the most attractive perk of our trees armies. You always choose who goes first !

  9. Don't forget that our dear sons of the storm are poster boyz. They are easy to learn, hard to master. We don't need that much combos and every unit can stand by themselves and that comes with a price.

When not talking about tournaments, they are really strongs in casual games.

Assumption is play and have fun. All the opposite of a competitive aspect.

  10. @Requizen.

You ll never want him first , at the head of the frontline anyway.

People complain about the shield, but vandus is strong when fighting in general. I like making him support your battlelines, sitting on objectives ... and so on. He has a potential to master the backfield.

  11. Ahhhh my man !

Tested it also but i launched 20 sequitors and 10 evocators together with him.... well they didnt need him.... but i wrecked a nighthaunt list with mortach and looots of reapers. And wrecked a legion of nagash list with lots of direwolves and spirit hosts.

I have to test vandus with lowered units . I think he ll shine with 10 sequitors x 3.

Because you can only get 4 artillery pieces at 2k? Or are you taking less ballistars?

Yeah of course, you have two less ballistars. But losing the scions, this is still hard artillery with a niiiiice range .  Hurricanum is cool, but with sce shooty lines, it is not that efficient to me because either you cannot scion, or you have a higher risk of getting the hurricanum wrecked quickly. And if you take longstrike, they dont need the hurricanum (mw on an unmodified 6 ). With an army that gets most of the to hit at 3+, i think you are in a better place with an azyros! But well that's my point of view. In the end have fun. I have the hurricanum also but play it mostly in order lists.

300 pts for 7 wound and a 3+ save is just asking to be sniped away

Well. With a castellant and a mystic shield,  he might be able to take some punch.... not mortal wounds, i know.

But just theorycrafting things like having the celestant prime around, and keeping him alive with lord(s) arcanum, scions and lightning chariot.... give the enemy much things to chose so that maybe he is not the first thing to kill.

I ll try soon anyway. Still having a lot of painting to do.

Ps: and the CP saving on battleshocks.... almost forgot. ?

  14. Hi there. I'am following these sce discussions since a while now.

I was wondering what were your thoughts on Vandus Hammerhand and why he is not more often chosen in our dear Hammers of Sigmar.

I mean.... +1 attack granted on a nearly 25" straight line means you can easily fit 20 sequitors or 10 evocators. It seems overkill on paper, even if it is straight forward....

Anybody experienced this in tournaments or anything competitive ?

Thanks fellow sons of the storm.
