  1. Hey everyone I’m back! Sorry I got distracted with an army of Night Lords and am just trying to avoid burn out during Ramadan. Anyways here’s a picture of a Barak Zhar-Ramad arkanaut. Unlike in “regular” kharadron society Arkanaut prospects are trained are graded as a team in an ancient game known as Zhariz. The recruits scavenge weapons from either their family’s vaults or from their old maintenance jobs, and with each loss one person must sacrifice a limb to Hashut(leading to some crude bionic replacements). In real life this was just my excuse to use the blood bowl team as a conversion base.60B3422B-C710-4D2C-A38B-130CA4155248.jpeg.1786a44536db8acf62fe8acc5c4e684e.jpeg

Thirded on female duardin models, would be great for a large number of reasons but especially for showing how amazingly diverse the Mortal Realms are and what they offer.

    Agreed on both!  :D

I'm really loving the focus on both the bullhelms as the new aelven figureheads and how majestic the realm of light is, the prismatic skies give it this constant Auroral Borealis look that's both beautiful and matches the Norse mythology tones. Plus the prismatic crystals on the grounds both match up with Hysh's symmetry and give that awesome AoS flair as well.

On top of that I adore the lore bit in this, I thought the Lumineth were blocking the hits but they conjure a force-field around their bodies that blocks everything which is awesome and plays into the mountain theme.

Gives credence to their tall helms too, the size and horns just adds to the impenetrable wall they make.

I don't know about those bull helmets, I feel like my Forge Temple has been robbed........

I definitely agree, if they did that we might even be able to get faction expansions for them. Or who knows, maybe the mythical and rare Chaos Dwarfs may make an appearance in plastic. Not that any of this is likely at all.

What are you talking about? in the past year we've gotten two(!) new plastic chaos dwarfs, granted their both part of a unit and not standalone models but it counts!

BloodBowl is already an amazing sources for conversion but I can't wait to see what TOW will bring us in terms of possible creations for AOS !

All I know is I’m painting their armour in Chicago colors.

Why don't Blades of Khorne get awesome melee heroes like this :*-(

Because you're the evil poster boy faction.

Plus you guys have a giant dragon riding character(he's expensive, but so is most of this hobby).

God, that's filthy. It's like they crowdsourced the rules from starving, feral high elf fans. The early game rush to delete him with mortal wounds will be ridiculous, and people will have their days and possibly their overall enjoyment of the hobby absolutely ruined if he gets into combat. I'm into it.

But who is better: him or Gotrek?

"snotling pump wagon with wings" is really throwing down the "anything goes" gauntlet to aos, fair play

okay everyone the blood bowl snotlings come with two wagons, let's all buy a set(or two) and we'll come up with home-brew rules for the whole lot!

    The city so far: Unnamed

Realmgate: One passing overhead and one that leads to Shyish

Factions: The city itself, a stormhost (Trident something), the corsairs, Wild Rangers and Sylvaneth near the vineyards, KO atop the spires in the center of island, and Idoneth who are secretive and no one knows they are there, even the SCE. I think Khainites too.

Enemies: Grots and Skaven beneath the city, Ossiarchs in negations across the realmgate, Chaos Duardin flying around above the city, various things beyond the borders (mostly tzeentch), and cults within.

Of note: Godbeast below, massive skull, huge mountain in the center, and lots of fishing. Currency is scales and an important good is hallucinogenic wine. And the godbeast is being reincarnated.

I am going to update this constantly so please correct me on things.

I thought it was called Calderos, and don't forget ogors under enemies.

What are the goals of the factions? The Ossiarchs, I would think, ultimately want to revive the bones of the old beast by using the soul power of the new one. Since this would obviously destroy the city, this plan could even make the most criminal elements of the city join an alliance against them if found out. That’s why they go about it in such a subtle manner. What about the other factions?

I think the Ossiarchs reviving the bones would be awesome, maybe they turn it into a "living" city that they could move between the realms! Grots obviously would want to bring on the Badmoon, but until then they're just fine partying in the catacombs stealing the hallucinogen wine and mixing it with mushrooms(maybe running a few pirate runs for bottles).

  9. lets go back to the cities enemies for a bit, cause honestly we're on a hot streak currently and the ideas are flowing. In regards to the bonereapers let's make them closely allied to the Nagashite faction in the city(no cemeteries, just a bone shrine). They know that the assault on The Varanspire ha drained them quite a bit and have decided to take a more diplomatic approach to rebuilding their armies.

Let’s say the Corsairs are involved in some secret trade: They secretly take prisoners among the fishermen along the coast, and ship them to some small unnamed island, more a rock in the ocean. They leave them there, and in return, a secret cave on the Island is regularly filled with the precious skins and bones of otherwise unknown deep-sea creatures. The Corsairs themselves believe they are part of a weird slave trade, and they keep the whole business a well guarded secret. They don’t know that they trade with a nomadic offshoot of the Dhom-Hain Idoneth, for whom this is the perfect way to gather souls without becoming involved themselves. If the business became known, the Corsairs would face serious repercussions, since slavery is forbidden; the Idoneth would go to great length to protect the trade, even starting a secret war against anyone who found out...

    😁

Oh~ I like that, maybe they can trade the deep sea bones to the Ossiarchs in exchange for nadirite blades and other precious gems.

I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about the exact biological details behind metallic fish  (believe me, I've ****** up many an interesting story idea by spending 6 months thinking about how trivial details in stories, like how a city's sewage system works, and eventually losing interest). But saying that it's a really nice little detail for maybe the local Freeguild, that adds a nice bit of local colour to them. Great work.

I can really picture them in, say, scale mail hauberks constructed from these fishy parts. just a nice little thing to drop in for added verisimilitude.

From her perch in the chapel's bell tower Vespa had a clear view of the entire market and could see the whole crew carefully making their toward their marks. Just a few more minutes now and everyone should be in place, she thought to herself. A commotion down below caught her attention and she turned to see several of Captain Solat's guards heading towards the auction house. The bright Hysh light reflected off their iridescent scale mail and from up high they looked like a shoal of oneiros fish as they forced their way through the crowded bazaar.

Maybe something to think about to flesh it out more. What are the local guards called? What kind of livery do they have? Maybe a fish is their symbol? Likewise what Stormhost is resident here? Are they friendly towards the people of the city or view them as lessers? Are there Agents of Azyr hiding out, trying to unmask cultists and vampires alike? They're always great for protagonists.

Well here's what I've come up with so far......

Freeguild: The simple yet elegant Scale Guards roam the streets of Calderos, named for their iconic scale mail armor that has been blessed with strange alchemical properties.

Since we have spooky scary skeletons marching on us and sheet bois haunting the communal basement, a sacrosanct chamber of The Anvils of The Heldenhammer seem like the perfect fit, and they're suspicious but friendly to wizards given the city's history.

No Agents as of yet, but with growing rumors of chaotic infiltration it's only a matter of time....

    unamed Ossiarch army

What was supposed to be the next release? Since that will presumably be the first thing to drop once they get things running again? I want to say Zoats for blackstone fortress and LotR made to order, but am uncertain. If it was going to be made to order then thats fairly easy for them to do as a "warmup" since those come with a long delay anyway.

I’m hoping for that and House of Blades for Necromunda.

  14. Since I decided that we’ll stick with Barak Thryng’s rules as it allows for non kharadron dwarfs to be taken in the army I figured I should convert some: and so I did. Two of these guys were from a previous conversion binge and were added on. So far we have a runemaster, a runeson, and a battle smith. Names and back story to be added later.18E2B767-F757-4C99-A814-C6595F69D0A5.jpeg.2860c5de0e98d8829cd4b113a299a58e.jpeg762F4AD2-5626-4415-8B48-0641E37BB78A.jpeg.2c922de15cd44e9666f07a54d51b3cb4.jpegEA97037A-38B5-4D13-92BB-1BC1DC36A8BC.jpeg.92dc9065fd2b9f8ac3ffd15d54d1daf4.jpegCC5B86D4-A578-4699-996F-E90341B1C522.jpeg.bf97dc7e06973bc5ba3cd8b34c944195.jpeg202784A6-DF60-42B8-918C-C67EA48A1A84.jpeg.d3b293c6fa39ef4a279bbfd76f2521dd.jpegC0637ED1-6C33-4DEF-9609-2A438E5EABB0.jpeg.3f652d72c8070c78bfd1fbae2b7631e2.jpegEBB955A4-7717-467F-9442-2BE9177E3C37.jpeg.42ce0d5c5cec0072caa2d3cc4fcaec7a.jpeg

Maybe, I don't know if Hashut would be pleased though. I would say that do as you heart tells you, and if it says to make this army follow sigmar, so be it. But if you did that you could make even more dwarf armies. Tempest eye would be perfect if you ran this as CoS ruleswise.

Oh god no, this would be CoS in rules only, honesty I'll think about it but for now we're still a bunch of corrupted Kharadron over here.
