  1. Well, that was absolutely fantastic. Obviously loved all of the Lumineth "reveals". I would have preferred to see at least another unit, but I guess that, after the letdown of having revealed everything for the first wave and waiting for months, they do not want to make the same mistake. My bet for BR: Teclis is on the second "preorder slot" of March, and we will probably see something else soon. If I am not mistaken, we should be expecting to receive: "Cloud mage"/"Bolt-thrower"/"Blademasters"/Another couple of heroes/Dual kit of Vanari Lord-Regent/Fox-spirit + named fox-spirit/Windchargers. That doubles the current battletome, so there is a possibility of a new one in the near future.

As for the rest of the AoS part, those vampires are crazy looking, I will probably have to sell a kidney to afford Lumineth 2.0 + the warband + the new soulblight overlords, but the lack of teasing makes me think that they will probably be released closer to the summer. And the new WH Quest looks dope! All in all, fantastic. Really excited with the future of the Mortal Realms.

  2. So I expected BR: Teclis and a whole new range of Lumineth miniatures (Windchargers, Lord regent in dual kit, Fox spirit and "wind/cloud mages") but seeing those blademasters in the video...The mere possibility of bringing the glory of Hoeth back to the tabletop makes my wallet tremble.

  3. It can be my bias, but I think (and I love) that these mortals of Slaanesh look like the dark side of the Lumineth. This guy has a helmet that could easily fit with the Alarith...

In any case, stunning miniaiture. Can't wait to see the rest of the range!

What if the Silent People are a parasitic race of Chitin armors, taking hold progressively of its host ?

Looks like the "armor" is growing on that poor Kurnothi (on each cards form right to left - it's the same Blightking dying in each card).

The text from the first card (and what can be read in the last one) seems to support this theory,

    My guess:
    Broken Realms: Morathi
Broken Realms: Gorkamorka (Azyr is being besieged)
Broken Realms: Mannfred / Neferata (Soulblight)
    Broken Realms: The Tide (Skaven)
    Broken Realms: Slaanesh
Broken Realms: Shadow and Light (Twilight? anyone? xD)

    Edit:
    Story:
    - Morathi is becoming a god or sth. close to it,
meanwhile Sigmar is distracted due to Gordrakk attackign Azyr directly after levelling most of Excelsius

    - Mannfred/Neferata seizes the opportunity to become more powerful while creating or unleashing the whole Might of the Soulblight Vampires (maybe a plague that turns mortals into Zombies)
    - While Chaos erupts the most chaotic of all races tries to free Slaanesh. Succeeding in doing so. Yet Slaanesh remains weakened since it is rampaging through the mortal realms instead of residing in its own realm.
    - Malerion marshalls his forced to enslave Slaanesh once again . Tyrion joins in with his old frenemy. While Khorne unwillingly helps them due to his hate of Slaanesh.

Half of Slaanesh escapes to his own realm while the Aelves capture and lock away his other half.

I really love this part of the hobby. The speculation, the wishes and the predictions before the next "big event"...Almost as fun as the process of actually building your army, tbh.

As for my predictions, I broadly agree with you, but with some twists:

    Broken Realms: Morathi

Broken Realms: Gordrakk -> Miniatures for Orruks and Ogors. Siege and fall of Excelsis.

Broken Realms: Alarielle -> Miniatures for Sylvaneth, Nurgle and...Skaven? As somebody has said before. Fight in the realm of life.

Broken Realms: Teclis -> Mounted hero/new unit for Lumineth in fight across realms to prevent return of Slaanesh.

Broken Realms: Mannfred -> New Army, reinforcements in the 8 points against Archaon?

Broken Realms: Slaanesh -> Breaking free and leading to the release of Third Edition, where Malerion appears.

So looking forward to read the lore in Morathi.

I am going out on a limb and guessing new Lumineth. Tyrion and his Aelves are a lot lazier than Teclis' Aelves when it comes to weapon forging.

But in reality I saw it and immediately thought either Gargant or Ogor and since Gargants just got their release I am thinking Ogors. Icebrow hunter would nice but with the Underworlds kit there is a good model already to use. Unless it is a new model/unit I would personally like Maneaters to get a plastic kit with lots of optional builds. Obviously Butcher's desperately need a plastic kit at this point but it doesn't seem like a tool of their trade.

I would love this to be a part of a new Maneaters kit. They are a really cool "idea of unit" with no matching rules, so new miniatures, possibilities of conversion and possibly a revamped warscroll in a future Broken Realms book would be fantastic.

  7. According to the webstie (https://ageofsigmar.com/broken-realms/) we are getting rules for DoK, Idoneth, Stormcast, Cities of Sigmar and Slaves to Darkness. Very curious to see how this story goes.

Expanding on this, it seems like:

-Rules for Morathi with both forms at the same time.

-Two new CoS with...more focus on old dark elves?

    -New batallions for Stormcast

-Batallion and allegiance abilities for StD

-Idoneth Batallion + new warscrolls for allopexes, leviadon and eidolons

Just looked at the calender and there are 4 Saturdays in November and 4 major releases we know are happening in November

Broken realms and blood and shadow

    2 new codexs

    Bloodbowl

The new paint handle and I'm guessing the Xmas stuff.

Add to this the LOTR bat's they announced and there is still the rest of the marine and necron stuff to come.

November looks to be a busy month.

If it was me doing the scheduling I would have broken realms up first to build on the khainate buzz from warcry, then some 40k, bloodbowl and them the Xmas stuff to lead into Dec.

    Any predictions?

I would love to have Broken Realms for the first week of November, but I have been looking at the Black Library releases and my prediction is that this weekend we are going to get the Deatwatch Supplement (as it would align with their novel, on pre-order for the 31st of October) and probably some of the missing Marines units from the codex (praying for some bladeguard veterans). Then, I would not be surprised if next week is Broken Realms, then Codex again and finally Blood Bowl with the battleforces.

The rules are very impressive, looking forward to seeing more over the next week or two!

After reading the article I am less convinced there will be a Tyrion model released with the Lumineth, they mentioned about all the models been wizards as they are students of Teclis, unless they follow two paths or something like that, but I would suggest that Tyrion may have his own faction that follow the warriors path?

More than another faction, I think that Tyrion will probably come as an "expansion" for the Lumineth, like the chambers of the Stormcast.

  10. Loving the rules. I especially like the idea of placing my pikemen as a proper phalanx, and those sunmetal weapons are looking really good. It is sad (From the answer of Wh community posted above and the fact that the two sub-factions that they have previewed are both Teclian) that it seems that this release is going to be exclusively Teclis-based. However, this phrase at the end of the article gives me hopes:

We’ve just scratched the surface of what a Lumineth Realm-lords army can do – just wait until you factor in a vast suite of artefacts, unusual and powerful warscrolls, allied choices and more!

I think that it is very plausible that we will be able to ally with, at least, all of the old High Elves miniatures (Phoenix Temple, Sisters of the Watch and Shadow warriors, if i recall correctly?) and possibly with other aelven factions to give more versatility to the army.  I would love to have a batallion of "Sons of Teclis" with shining phalanxes holding the line and Caledor princes turned into Eels' riders acting as the hammer. Let's see.

  11. So, as it was said, with the WD coming out on the 26th/27th, the fact that almost everything from the reveals (except specialist games and Pariah) is already out and that we haven't had any AoS news in weeks...do we re-start the wheel of hope for this weekend or do I finally give up and buy some Idoneth Deepkin to make this long wait easier 😛 ?

  12. An alternative (and optimistic) point of view: they have previewed everything revealed at LVO and most of the things from the first online preview. With, theoretically, 4 weeks to go before the preorder of 9th edition, there should be a slot for Pariah (next PA book) and then what is left from the previews: Lumineth, Blood Bowl and Scions of the Flame. My bet is on next week.

The lack of a normal melee hero is unusual for sure.

I guess they might think the unit champions are a bit like that. They also put all of them as leaders in the Warcry band which is afaik unusual. Of course they are not the same thing a stand alone unit hero.

What I'm interested in is if this is connected to the Lumineth lore. Very often these characters are like noble champions (kings, princesses, generals with an aristocratic background), but maybe that thing is not there anymore in the Lumineth society. So champions connected to their unit, and mystical mages might make more sense for a Teclis faction. Of course that doesn't mean they couldn't have made a melee hero (and a lore was 100% not the reason why it didn't happen), but it might fit in the end. It might have just been something to make the faction a bit distinctive from others, so that not most follow the same formula.

Or it could also have something to do with the possible Tyrion faction in the future, 100% will be more melee focused that Teclis one.

And yeah, really hopefully this Sunday will bring our announcement.

This is really interesting. I have been thinking that, perhaps, some of those champions can act not only as leaders of their units, but as hero options on their own. For example, with the Sanguinary Guard in WH40K, you can turn one of the 5 miniatures into an "ancient", which is a character, and not part of the unit. This would solve the problem of few warscrolls and allow for some cool conversions of said champions to make them look as characters, instead of leaders of their units. However, given that unit sizes in AoS are less flexible than in 40K (So if you take 1 warden out of your unit of 10 you are effectively handicapping yourself without any reduction in points) , I don't think that this is going to be the case, but would love to see it.
