Is the Stormcast stormhost keyword forcing me to take the stormhost rules?

My SEs are painted Hammers of Sigmar style and i like to play some of the named Hammers of Sigmar units like Vandus. Did my SE army get the Hammers of Sigmar keyword just by saying that i want to play them or do I have to take the stormhost rules? The wording is imo not totally clear about that.

I really like the Vandus +1 attack aura but it´s just working on Hammers of Sigmar units and I would prefer to play as them to get the aura and fluff but with taking the generic SE artifacts and traits instead of the stormhost rules.

I hope you can understand what I mean. My English isn´t the best.

Vandus can only buff units with the keyword Hammers of Sigmar. The only way to get that keyword is to select that stormhost, and in the process: forfeit the general command traits. You can still use the normal artifacts if you bring a battallion. 

Do note that you can bring Vandus in any stormhost, he just won’t be able to buff anyone.
