  4. I have decided not to start FEC as I originally intended and am going full on Skaven so Id like to trade my Carrion empire FEC Half for a Carrion Empire Skaven half. I am in London, UK and want to keep it UK only to save on postage. I am fine with meeting locally (or Darksphere/barhammer) if you also live in London. EDIT: I also have 3 Crypt Horrors/Flayers + 10 Ghouls from the Start Collecting box (+Warscroll Battalion rules sheet) that I can trade along with this if you have any more Skaven or Seraphon/LoN
  5. If you're reading this then I'm afraid I've tricked you into looking at yet another new players list. Well I'm not that new, I've had 6 years of playing under my belt but that was many moons ago, back when fantasy was fantasy and Warhammer had square bases (I know weird right?). The long of the short is I came back into the fold after pottering around a GW store and getting the painting/gaming itch I've not had in 11 years. After chatting away to a GW employee, playing an intro game and feverishly checking my bank account I decided upon Stormcast Eternals. Apparently they are quite good? To be honest they look a bit like space marines with swords, hammers and maces, that's all I needed to like 'em. So I bought the battletome and have been locked in my room scribbling army lists for the past few days and I just decided to put something together that I thought had synergy, would look cool and wouldn't cost the earth (if this army is horrendously illegal, awful or makes no sense please forgive me and berate me in the comments): (I went for 1500 points, that used to be normal in fantasy, is that a lot now? I have no idea if that's too much or too little now, I really have no idea what I'm doing.) Astreia Solbright (220) Knight-Heraldor (100) Lord-Relictor (100) Cleansing Phalanx (120) Sequitors X5 (120) Sequitors X5 (120) Evocators X5 (200) Evocators X5 (200) Liberators X10 (200) Celestar Ballista (100) Total: 1,480 I figured I'd use the Hammers of Sigmar Stormhost (reviving expensive units on a 5+ is a totally new concept to me and seems OP), no idea about artifacts as I believe i get 2 but have to take God-forged Blade first? Any help here would be well received. If you made it this far, thanks for reading! All I basically want to know is whether this army is usable, I don't need it to be a world-beater, I just need something I can use and not be a cleared off the board in every game, thanks for the advice and happy wargaming!

  7. Hello all, I used to host LoTR events down here in Sussex, but have since moved onto AoS. I think the skirmish format is brilliant, and is a very appealing alternative to the typical 2000pt affair we see at most events. A skirmish event means that list building is simpler (and less restrictive), transporting your army is easier, and you can steer your ship in a different direction as the event goes on by recruiting different units between each round. I'm confident in my ability to find a venue, throw together a brilliant event pack, and get drunk with everyone after the event. My only hang up is that I have no clue as to whether or not people are as passionate as I am about the format, much less as to whether or not people would want to travel down to Brighton/Hove for a skirmish campaign. For those of you who never gave skirmish a go, it is a very different experience to typical AoS, and it has a funny meta in which you have a surprising amount of options. A few examples I've seen are; investing everything in one huge model, building a small horde to drown people out, or maximizing equipment options by taking lots of different models from different units. There are some balance issues (you can theoretically take as many night goblins with nets as you want for 1 point each), but we can hammer those out when the time for balancing the format comes. In the interest of creating a diverse meta, the event would support every single warscroll in the game. The way to calculate skirmish points is simply to double the matched play points value and then divide the result by 10. Starting with 35 points seems like a good idea, as it still makes hiring a bastiladon a far fetched dream, but also means that people can play ogors without being priced out of taking a hero. I am a strong supporter of event exclusive rules and out-of-game exercises that affect the campaign, so feel free to spitball ideas if you like to toy with those sort of concepts. If this event sounds like something you would theoretically want to attend, please respond with your thoughts and suggestions. Thank you for your time!

  9. If you are near (or visiting) south Essex, Hockley has a great games venue - Wayland Games. Loads of tables with lots of scenery (not just for Sigmar, 40k, Malifaux x-wing etc) There is a bar! Food and shop (everything from glue and paint to models, board games). Open 7 days! There is a bi-monthly 2000 pt tournament (1st Saturday and 3rd Sunday) I have added details of the next events in the calendar. I am down most weeks, playing games in the evening with a few others. If you ever fancy a game, happy to arrange and can play at any points level. Check out their Facebook page and hope to see you soon! https://www.facebook.com/waylandgamescentre/

  14. Hello, just signed up here as I've been lurking for a couple of weeks. Now to introduce myself...I live in West Sussex, UK. It's been quite a while since I left the hobby as a teenager. I started playing Hero Quest and Space Crusade, I then progressed onto 40k (2nd and 3rd edition), Necormunda and Bloof Bowl. I played a few WHFB 4th edition games using my friends armies. I stopped playing as a was in the final years of school. Over the last couple of years I got back into reading stuff online on the well known rumour websites and found myself looking at GW stuff online more and more. I have been tempted to get back into 40k (I know!) but reading all the negative comments about 40K online put me off... So I decided to look more towards AOS as there seems to be a lot more positiveness in people's comments. I started reading the rules, and really liked how simple it seems and how readily available it all is. Also all the new models have come a long way since I played and GW games! So just before Christmas I decided that I'd pick up a few paints etc and a box of Kurnoth Hunters as have a go and getting back into it. It's taken me about a month but they are almost finished, didn't t like it at first but got into it and I really enjoyed it, despite being a little rusty at modelling. Moving forward I thought I'd like to painting some Slannesh Deamons maybe progressing into making an army and potentially playing some games. I quite like the look of the 1000 point army thread, as it would be good starting point and be nice to share my progress with people on here. Anyway, if you got this far thanks for reading and hope to read and post some more in the future as I find my way round.
  15. We're currently trialling weekend gaming on certain days of the month. Our next date is Sunday the 29th of January, between 12pm and 5pm. We're located at the Bethnal Green Working Mens Club: 42-44 Pollard Row, London E2 6NB If you're available to pop down for a game or just to come and meet people please feel free. Your first visit is always free. However if you're keen to play, your best bet is to get onto either our dedicated challenge board or our Age of Sigmar group and look for an opponent ahead of time. Because space is usually limited and first come first serve, we don't have a pick up game culture.
