About Me

  1. Right so I know in the general's handbook there does not say there is but apparently there is/was a battlion for the spiderfang grots and I was wondering if it could still be used? if so what was in the battlion? How much does it cost? Etc
  2. Hi guys! I am new here as an acitve member but have been reading for quite some time. My question concerns the Spiderfang Grots. I got me a nice collection, namely the Spiderfang Venommob with the three Arachnaroks, the Boss on Spider, 3 Units of Spiders and, outside of the Venommob, another Boss. It Looks like this here: Allegiance: Destruction Leaders Arachnarok Spider With Grot Shaman (280) Arachnarok Spider With Grot Shaman (280) Grot Big Boss On Gigantic Spider (100) Grot Big Boss On Gigantic Spider (100) Battleline 15 x Grot Spider Riders (300) - Spiderfang Battleline 15 x Grot Spider Riders (300) - Spiderfang Battleline 10 x Grot Spider Riders (200) - Spiderfang Battleline Units Behemoths Arachnarok Spider (280) Battalions Spiderfang VenomMob (100) Total: 1940/2000 I had the pleasure to play this list twice already, once I won (it was the diagonal-set-up mission) and once I lost (the three-locations of power mission). It was quite fun in a non-competitive Environment. What sets These apart from my Mortal Nurgle army is the fact, that both the victory and the defeat were VERY decisive whereas my Nurgle-army seems to get closer results. The Problem against Death armies with a lot of casters (Neferata, Arkhan) was that I could never really get all buffs stacked together. Anyway, some questions, for ease of answering I will number them: 1. what do you guys think of this list in a more competitive Setting? Can it stand up against some of the harder lists out there? 2. what, besides low saves/wounds does this army lack? 3. which Artifacts / Abilities would you give the characters? I went with bellowing tyrant on the General, battle brew on the second Boss and the taunting blade (no idea what it is in English, I have the German Version of the GH only) on one of the Spider Shamans. Thanks in advance!
  3. It looks like forest goblins and spiders will be getting the round base treatment soon.
  4. Since the Battle for Skull Pass I've always wanted to do a spider themed army. When the Arachnaroks came on the scene spiders became a lot more viable but animosity was crippling to the small bands of five spider riders, who would head for the hills after a couple of casualties. In AOS that all changed and the Spiderfang Venom Mob presented a temptation beyond what I could bare! For the Spiderfang formation each unit gives buffs to other units making it possible for the spider riders, in ideal circumstances, to dish out mortal wounds on a 4+ hit! There is shooting but with hitting and wounding on 5's you'll be rolling a lot of dice to bring anything half decent down. The Aracknarok spiders make the smaller spider riders immune to battle shock with 8'' making them a real 'tar pit', something they normally wound not be on leadership 4 (with the banner they are leadership 6 if NOT in combat!!!! Typical fickle gobos!) While the army cannot fly, it does ignore any terrain when moving. Everything in the army moves at 8' so nothings getting let behind. My three aracknaroks, two with flingers and one with a Shaman, are the center piece visually of the army in three different colours. The leader of the army is the Bigboss on the Gigantic Spider. I will do a more detail write up up anyone is interested but for now I'll just show a few photos. Whole army took me three days to convert (spider riders), build (big boys) and paint (everything) so bare this in mind when criticizing the paintwork. There will be some tufts added when I next go to a show.
