Someone sent me a messaged and asked if I could make an overview of the pre-picked Realm rules for the SCGT 2019. So here they are: 4 rules for each of the 7 Realms on a DIN A6 card (105x148mm) with a fitting card pouch for transportation. This is a 'remix' of the cards available in the 'Realm of Battle' sets: https://www.tga.community/search/?&q=Realm of Battle&type=downloads_file&search_and_or=and&search_in=titles&sortby=relevancy
  2. Here's my painted Warherd army for which I have been using Mierce minis ( I work for Mierce and oversaw the creation of these awesome minis so I was dying to use them in the wild! ) In AoS terms the list is Warherd Allegiance and contains (name on Mierce site in brackets) 1 doombull (general) (Qaano) 1 Doombull (Cqaa) 6 Bullgor (Sronax) 6 Bullgor (Sronax) 3 Bullgor (Sronax) Ghorgon (Tarvox) Ghorgon (Tarvox) Cygor (Druc) Cygor (Gorugg) I won 3 and lost 3 at the recent SCGT event in the UK. For what's considered to be a bottom tier army I was pretty pleased! The Bullgor can certainly catch ppl out with their long bomb charges! EVen after you go through what they do. The army is a ton of fun to use, is awesome at Duality of Death and can smash face. Though a lack of numbers and low armour can be your downfall in some scenraios/vs some armies. Just remember Warherd strong! (and roll those 4+s) Due to an impending house move (and expensive conveyancing fees to pay) the army is for sale. It contains the following (details from the Mierce site) ##druc, meat-hulk [resin] X fomoraic srónax monstrous infantry starter host [resin] X galagaak, raging tarvox [resin] (2) X gorugg, feral oghurüc [resin] X roaring srónax, srónax unit [resin] (2) X total: £595.13 X# I'm open to serious offers. I will ship via UPS (internationally) and Royal Mail special delivery (UK) only as both are tracked services. For an additional fee I can rebase onto Darklands bases and if you wish (for another fee) I can change the basing scheme completely, though this will take time. If you're interested feel free to DM me here or to mail me timfisher@mierce-miniatures.com - cheers!
  3. Over the last year I have been putting together a tzeentch army (it took a while as I don't play with unpainted models, and I had a busy year). I wanted something competitive at mid-tables in events, that uses the units I like painting (many of which others feel are not viable). I liked the idea of a "super friends" list (based off the idea of magic the gathering lists that run lots of planeswalkers) that takes a group of powerful characters, and the rest of the army is just there to keep them safe. This is the list I have come up with: Tzeentch superfriends: 1x Lord of Change, Magical supremacy, wellspring of arcane might, bolt of tzeentch 1x Gaunt summoner, treacherous bond 1x Changeling, unchecked mutation 1x Tzaangor shaman , shield of fate 1x Ogroid Thaumaturge - Glipse the future 40x Kairic Acolytes 10x pink horrors 10x pink horrors 3x Tzaangor enlightened 360 reinforcement points The list is fairly simple mortal wound spam - protect the mages with the battle line units, splitting the pinks into blues and brimstones if required. The block of 40 acolytes offers a lot of board control, and can tag objectives if required while still acting as a screen. I have a number of options for using the reinforcement points: Blues/brimstones - either from split or from the ogroid's spell, great for holding back the enemy. Balewind vortex - very useful as a range extender. Particularly nice if I deploy the changeling in with all my mages, then summon a balewind for him. He can basically pick any spell my army knows and cast it at double range. Pink horrors - useful board control, can split them if needed for a real tarpit Lord of change with sword - mostly if my opponent has a behemoth and I need extra punch to kill it Herald of Tzeentch - adds another d6 mortal wounds spell Burning Chariot - if I need more speed to grab objectives, or a bit more "reach" I played one game with it so far, and the list performed very well winning total conquest 17-11 (it started out well with me rolling 6,6,6,6,6,6,2,2,1 as my destiny dice). My opponent had some bad rolls, but was a good player (played in the UK masters twice) with a competitive list so I am very happy with how it performed. Before: After: I have a back story for the list, it needs some fleshing out, but it is based around my lord of change Trojix Nine Schemes, who has assembled a cabal of agents who work to destabilise the status quo of any parts of the mortal realms they feel aren't changing fast enough. It was he, working with the changeling disguised as a weirdknob shaman, that convinced Zebgrok to start a civil war within the ironjawz (see my army from last year).

  8. No idea if anybody has seen this yet, but here is an interesting article on the Warhammer Community site.... https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/02/07/the-generals-handbook-ii-wip-points-sneak-peek/ What I love about this is how GW are listening to players but not doing kneejerk reactions to things. Now if we can all start asking about Duardin

We will be playing 3 games and they will be played 2v2. If you dont have a partner to play with, you will be given one. On Saturday to Sunday we will be running a singles tournament with 3 games on saturday and 2 games on sunday. There are 20 spots More information regarding the rule-edits, missons and scoring will come at a later stage. A little heads up, the missions will be a lttile crazy and probably not somthing you are used to see at a tournament.
  12. With our North Island Gaming Convention just around the corner, it is time to make the hard choices about what to bring in order to sow death and reap souls in the name of the Great Necromancer. Here are my thoughts about what I'm bringing, what my overall strategies will be, and how I arrived to those decisions. NICON Army Composition At NICON we will be using the SCGT players pack, with the exceptions that we are allowing all legacy warscrolls, and that the pool choice restrictions are 120 for the army and 80 for the deployed warband. Starting Point My collection started with the Deathrattle faction. I love the models, and the Dark Lord of Despair has been leading my forces through our local escalation campaign. I had the following models: Wight King (Black Axe) - 3 Wight King (Infernal Standard) - 3 Necromancer - 4 20 Skeletons (Spears) - 8 20 Skeletons (Swords) - 8 10 Grave Guard (Great Blades) - 8 5 Black Knights - 5 I really love the synergies with these warscrolls. the Lord of Bones command ability (+1 to all attacks) and Vanhel's Danse Macabre (an extra pile-in) has proven very effective on my Grave Guard, and on occasion, Black Knights. My original plan was to add the Legion of Death warscroll battalion, and so started painting up another 20 Skeletons and 5 Grave Guard. I have the Nagash model, but felt he would be a bit too over-the-top for this tournament. I didn't want to put off anyone new to the game or the hobby, but I also didn't want to turn up and lose 6 games. So I selected his lieutenant, Arkhan the Black - one of my all time favourite characters, to lead in his stead. I also added other models from my collection in order to help fill out the points: Arkhan the Black - 18 2 Morghast Archai - 10 3 Spirit Hosts - 5 I'd love to get more Spirit Hosts. Those things are great value. So the plan at this point was to deploy the Legion of Death battalion, and then summon the Archai, Spirit hosts and some more Grave Guard. But then something happened. The Monstrous Arcanum warscrolls came out. Enter, the Mourngul. The Lure of Power The SCGT boys brought out a pool cost for this bad boy a week before the pool choice lock for NICON, so I was able to include the Mounrgul in my list. This would give my army some much needed punch, and also help with taking and holding objectives. But how best to fit him in? He is 18 points (exactly what my group predicted it would be), but by including him in my summoning pool I could halve this. The downside is that the Mourngul requires a casting roll of 10 to cast. Arkhan gets +2 to cast by default. When summoning, he gets an extra +1. With the Morghast Archai nearby, he gets another +1. I happened to have a Mortis Engine still on the sprue from one of the starter boxes. With it, I can give Arkhan a sweet + 5 to cast (before any terrain bonuses), making the Mourngul summon much more reliable. So I put the Mortis Engine together in an evening, and with 3 weeks left to go, set about painting it and the Mourngul. These new acquisitions meant I have to forgo the extra skeletons and Grave Guard, and not take the Legion of Death battalion. But I feel much better having including them. Mourngul - 18 Mortis Engine - 7 This left me with 2 pool choices left over. Luckily there is a 2 point option in the Death Grand alliance - the Cairn Wraith. Time to pick one up. The plan is to have it hang back behind the Grave Guard or Skeletons, smacking up big units with it's 2" range. The Summoning Pool I plan to keep the Morghast Archai and the Mourngul in the summoning pool. In scenarios and against opponents where I have to be attacking, I will use Arkhan as the general, his First of the Mortarchs command ability extending the range of his spells. I would summing both the Archai and Mourngul in the same turn if possible. This will place my hardest-hitting hammer where I need them in order to assault objectives. Arkhan can then sit back and try to get as many Curse of Years spells off as he can, adding Vanhel's or Mystic Shield along with the Necromancer as needed. The Leadership Conundrum Using First of the Mortarchs means passing up Lord of Bones, which has until now been a very successful ability. I guess it will come down to the situation need for it. I know for example there will be a Khorne Daemon army and a Khorne Bloodbound army at NICON, and they will be moving towards me as fast as possible, meaning Arkhan's extra range will be less important. In this case Lord of Bones could be the better option. Will have to take that on a game-by-game basis. Final List So that's the plan. I will be taking the Black Knights with me, but in all likelihood I will not be deploying them unless the extra mobility is absolutely crucial in the right circumstances - perhaps to help achieve the Breakthrough Hidden Agenda. Deployed Warband Arkhan the Black - 18 Wight King (Black Axe) - 3 Wight King (Infernal Standard) - 3 Necromancer - 4 Cairn Wraith - 2 Mortis Engine - 7 3 Spirit Hosts - 5 20 Skeletons (Spears) - 8 20 Skeletons (Swords) - 8 10 Grave Guard (Great Blades) - 8 TOTAL = 66 Summoning Pool 2 Morghast Archai - 10 Moungul - 18 TOTAL = 28
  13. Event Title: Realms At War: Legends – An AoS event Event Author: Tronhammer NZ Calendar: Events UK Event Date: 11/19/2016 12:00 AM to 11/20/2016 12:00 AM EATMingsFoote are pleased to announce a two day, 40 player AoS event in the centre of Cambridge on 19 to 20 November. This will not be a ‘typical’ tournament and it will be hobby orientated. There will be a competitive element, however if you are after a full on competitive tournament, this probably isn’t for you! Over the two days, you will be immersed in an epic tale in which your general attempts to rise from an Aspiring champion to become a Legend of the Realms. Your struggle to achieve Legendary status will be played over six scenarios of varying size (skirmishes, standard battles and doubles). Temporary truces between the various Aspirants will be formed and broken and all the while, the twists of fate will lie heavy over the battlefields. Will you be able to adapt to the rapidly changing threats? Do you trust your allies or can your objectives be better served with others? Can you raise an army capable of crushing your opponents? Which Aspirant will become the ‘Legend of the Realms’? We are likely to use the SGCT army pools document for army selection however this will be confirmed at a later date. Evening entertainment will be arranged on Saturday night and we strongly encourage everyone to join in. There may also be some smaller events on the Friday night. Our motive for this event is to put on a super fun hobby-tastic weekend for the community. However, since this is our first event we felt it best to start small and then increase participant size in subsequent events. We therefore intend to allocate the first twenty tickets to our friends and clubmates; the remaining twenty tickets will made available to the public at a later date. Details on how to obtain public tickets will be provided soon. Further details to follow shortly however if this interests you, please put the date in your diary and indicate below.
