  1. I have decided not to start FEC as I originally intended and am going full on Skaven so Id like to trade my Carrion empire FEC Half for a Carrion Empire Skaven half. I am in London, UK and want to keep it UK only to save on postage. I am fine with meeting locally (or Darksphere/barhammer) if you also live in London. EDIT: I also have 3 Crypt Horrors/Flayers + 10 Ghouls from the Start Collecting box (+Warscroll Battalion rules sheet) that I can trade along with this if you have any more Skaven or Seraphon/LoN

  4. Hey All, Saw this thread and thought I'd pop in and say hey. Im in London and mostly paint at the moment but have been waiting for a start collecting/battleforce box for Idoneth as I REALLLLLLLLLLY love oceans/sealife/atlantis etc. Love to hear if there's any major places I can join to meet other AoS players in London
  5. Hey TGA people! I wanted to let you all know of a big project two friends and I have been working on for a while now- a new gaming venue in central London called Bad Moon Cafe. Situated on Great Dover Street- 6 minutes from Borough and 10 minutes from London Bridge, we wanted to make it the best place to play Warhammer in London. Our priority was the tables- we've had 15 custom gaming tables made, with a dice tray, bag storage and space for books and armies either side, with a lip around the mat and fully painted and matching terrain for each table. There's 5ft of space between each table row, guaranteeing enough space to move around or sit down. Have a look at a render of the table and photos of the terrain setup we've made: We really want to build a community around the store. We'll be organising monthly one-day tournaments for Age of Sigmar and 40k as well as larger annual 2-day tournaments. We want the monthly tournaments to be friendly and enjoyable first and foremost, and the annual tournaments to be as fair and balanced as we can be (I'm an avid listener to @JustPlay-Ritchie and @ianob's excellent Just Playing podcast so will endeavor to follow their example of tournament organising!). We're opening on the 15th and all weekend we're having some special offers on our stock and food! I'll be sharing some photos of the venue itself soon- just finishing up on site for a couple more days! In the meantime, here's another CG render of the space as it will look: Please come down and find me! (I'll be playing Nurgle or standing around in a staff shirt!) Hugh at Bad Moon Cafe

Blood Tithe – AoS International Team Tournament London Gatwick March 2-4th 2018 In association with The South London Legion I am delighted to announce the inaugural AoS International Team Tournament – Blood Tithe. The event will be staged at the Arora Hotel, London Gatwick – March 2-4th 2018. The event will be a 5 game, 2000 points, 4 man team, GHB2 matched play tournament with additional gaming opportunities on the Friday night, and arranged activities on the Saturday night TBC. We have space for 20 teams/80 players. ### We have mulled heavily over the 'International' element to this. There are obvious connotations towards ETC with that tag, however this is not intended as a replacement. Like with the recent 6 Nations, it may well be a seed which germinates to something more - but this event is not ETC AoS. Likewise we want to be inclusive not prescriptive with our teams - we think that's where AoS 'is' - the best of both worlds. Efforts have been taken and TOs contacted to avoid clashing with other tournaments ### Location: Gatwick is 15 minutes from the M25, easily accessible by public transport from London and not least the cheap short haul hub of Europe and beyond. This surely presents our European (and other!) cousins with a viable opportunity to compete against other domestic and International teams. Cost: Team of 4: All gaming, lunch both days: £180 (£45.00 PP) How to Enter: We will start taking entries in a couple of weeks once the prospect percolates; it takes a little time to form teams and we don't want people missing out. Stating your interest will be a helpful indicator. Please note - this venue is booked. If you do not have a ready- made team but wish to be a prospective captain or a mercenary (a great way to meet fellow gamers) please contact us, or post here. Team events are ideal to attend as your first matched play event. The Tournament: This will be a 5 game , 4-man team tournament, using a “Swiss Pairings” method for determining opponents from Round 2 onwards. Pairings will be used (details in pack). Each player must play their own list for all games. No two team armies may have a duplicate warscroll, nor a duplicate allegiance. Allegiance abilities, traits, etc must be listed and not change on a game-by-game basis. House Rules and FAQ TBC post GHB2. Missions The 5 missions will be decided and publicised in the pack post GHB2 at the earliest opportunity. Everyone will play the same mission each round. Scoring: Scoring will be based on a 20-0 system Major Win: 15 Minor Win: 10 Draw: 8 Minor Loss: 5 Major Loss: 0 In addition, there will be 5 secondary objectives missions, which will be present in each of the 5 games each player competes in. In each case to score a secondary objective it must be at the same time gained and denied to an opponent. For each secondary objective scored you receive 1 point and your opponent subtracts 1 point. TBC Secondary objectives are TBC post GHB2 release. Total team points per round will be capped at 60/30 Tie Breaker 1 – Uncapped TP total. Tie Breaker 2 – Most Secondary Missions completed. Tie Breaker 3 – Most Major Victories. Please note in order to keep the advertised timings and to avoid overly punitive play Kill Points will not be recorded during the event and will be used only in missions where Kill Points are a deciding factor. Painting: All armies must be fully painted and based on suitable round bases. Anything not reaching this minimum standard will be removed from the table, and will count as destroyed. There is quite a long lead up to the tournament so there’s real excuse not to conform to this norm. The organisers will request a selection of armies be set up on Sunday Lunchtime for voting. You will be advised if you are on the shortlist. Terrain: 10 pieces of 28mm terrain will be provided on each table. The Scenery Table will be in effect and as per the 4 page rulebook. You are welcome to bring your own terrain if it adds to the aesthetic of your army and is not deemed to be outlandishly large or unsuitable. You can purchase scenery dice from http://scenerydice.co.uk/ or alternatively bring suitable markers. List Submission and Draw Lists must be submitted by 23.59 Sat Feb 17th. Once verified they will be published w/c 19th Feb. The 1st round Draw will take place Monday 26th Feb.
  11. 1.1 Motivation Do you want a job requiring probably hundeds of hours of work with no pay and the possibility of financial liabilities? Yes? Welcome new TO! The AoS calendar, at least in the UK, is jam-packed full of tournaments . So in full, in fact, that you could probably do 40 tournaments a year if you were stuffed full of cash, passionate about motorways… and were very, very single. People all over the UK - and beyond - give up their time and take on board sizable responsibilities to provide entertainment for others – often exposing themselves to wilds of social media, chippy comments and the risk of losing money. It’s not altruistic of course. TO’s volunteer their services within an environment they enjoy, for people they often know and to further a game they’re passionate about. The drive of ego can’t be denied, whether the unconscious motivation is testing one’s personal identity or winning plaudits from others –putting on bigger and better tournaments than the last one. Some TO’s may need an objective – something to aim for to drive them through life’s mundanaities . It’s not the money though. It would be more ‘profitable’, I dare say, to spend the equivalent hours walking the streets picking up loose change on the pavement. That’s not to say that some bigger tournaments won’t make a ‘profit’ but in almost any case I can recollect this is pumped back into making free content – the other side of the same coin and a right which can’t be denied. My own personal motivations are pretty varied. I’m not one for deep self-examination but on the top level: · I’ve always been a bit of an organiser; events, football teams, projects and governance – whether professional or for fun. Mostly this emanates from me wanting to take part in something which won’t happen unless I make it. I guess this is very a common motivation for TO’s. · My experiences of running club competitions (winning the annual club competition that I organised still gives me a drunken, self-satisfied feeling that’s difficult to recreate) and small one-dayers have been wholly positive. There’s a certain level of adrenaline which is mildly addictive. · It’s nice to collaborate. My best work is done in conjunction with others – it keeps that motivation going. I’m already enjoying the banter with the South London Legion gang. · I’m relatively time rich – by my own standards – though that time is spent rooted on the 05.43 from Eastbourne. I know that I need to make this time in some way valuable (other than to furnish my loving family with a lifestyle to which they have become accustomed!) and not to just spend it with my face pressed up against a rain-flecked window wondering where it all went wrong. Long projects with quality resolutions. I’ve written 2 and ¾ books mildly well received books on trains – but talk about picking up loose change… · The London events issue. Peeps in the South East are pretty hard done by when it comes to events. High running costs and wariness of others as to the expensiveness of ‘down south’ keep them to a minimum (which I get, being a northerner). Unfortunate, you would say, as this is where most of the population lives. I kinda want to bust this myth, and so do the others. …and that’s me. Nothing too unusual or eye-opening in that. I expect large portions of this will resonate with other TO’s. I’ll keep this going focusing on more practical aspects, probably on a weekly basis. It’s Monday morning, 06.48, and I’m one down - so that augers well. mx
  12. @Drats and I are going to be running Coalescence on 10th June at: EXP (www.expleisure.com) Swan Wharf 60 Dace Rd London E3 3NQ Tickets are £10 (with a soft drink) or £13 (with a can of beer) and can be paid for by paypal: adamcunis@gmail.com as friends and family. Please post here or note in payment what alliance you will be bringing. Registration on the day is open from 9am and the awards/results should be done by 5.30 We would ask that you submit some back ground/ fluff for your general and army in advance, why are they specifically hunting for the shards? There will be bonuses for this submission and we expect all entrants to make an effort. The results will be plugged into the global event on the day, so your efforts can affect a global outcome for your chosen alliance! There will also be awards for various on the day things including best painted which I'll expand on soon. We've got 8 sign ups already so do get in touch! Player pack: We're going to have the three games at 1500, 1000, 1000 points (instead of 500 for game three, we want a bloody finale). Regarding force organisation as this is a Narrative event we will NOT be enforcing the Matched play minimum battleline (although feel more than welcome to run with battleline units if that suits your general's fluff). We will, however, be using general's handbook points. So please bring a 1500 point list with at least 1 HERO that could also be broken down to 1000 points. Adam and Kieron Entrants list: 1. But given the combination of the atmosphere, the easy access to alcohol and the popularity of Blood Bowl please be advised that we are a noisy club! 14. We're currently trialling weekend gaming on certain days of the month. Our next date is Sunday the 29th of January, between 12pm and 5pm. We're located at the Bethnal Green Working Mens Club: 42-44 Pollard Row, London E2 6NB If you're available to pop down for a game or just to come and meet people please feel free. Your first visit is always free. However if you're keen to play, your best bet is to get onto either our dedicated challenge board or our Age of Sigmar group and look for an opponent ahead of time. Because space is usually limited and first come first serve, we don't have a pick up game culture. 15. Greetings fellow adventurers and warlords! I am a brand-new AoS player, and am looking for a local group/club as well as a vibrant online support group to help me on my journey through my flesh-eater courts army! i am sociable and enjoy talking about anything! Talk to me!
  16. Hi all, My name is Chris and I have just pulled together my first army, having painted GW models for about 10/12years. I did start playing a bit of 8th ed just before The End Times started. But to be honest I struggled to get my friends interested. Finally I managed to wrangle one friend in, but the combination of the complex rules and huge buy in put him off. After we had spent £50 each he gave up and really we got nowhere. Then AoS dropped… And because I loved the models, but thought the 8th ed. rules were a bit much, this seemed like the answer for me. Another friend agreed to come and do a few test games and absolutely loved it. We were effectively playing with some pulled together Death and Orruk units that I had stored away. Ended up being about 800 matched play, although we were just playing with what ‘felt right’. Anyway playing about 6 games since we started (finding the time is hard) I have now pulled together a Vanguard 1000 point list Destruction list. Not all painted (getting there, everything is primed at maybe one or two colours on, how taboo is that?) but ready to start getting into the hobby properly. I have just bought my friend one of the new easy paint boxes – Three Blood Warriors. So I think he will be expanding that army soon too. I’ve been told my list is a bit shoddy but to be honest I’ll just be glad to get to my local store and play. I’ll worry about winning later lol : Megaboss 140 , Weridnob 120 , Grot Boss on Spider 100 , Moonclan Shaman 60 , Savage Orruks 100 , Savage Orruks 100 , Brutes 180 , Gore Gruntas 180. So that's me, looking forward to becoming part of the tga community.
