  1. Introduction In the primordial times before the Age of Myth and the coming of Sigmar, the mortal realms were forged, bound and molded by the magics they embodied. But in the aetheric void, the ash and embers of the reforging of the world-that-was came together to form the Shard Realms, a multitude of fragmentary worlds rendered into curious aspects by the debris that formed their mass, realmstone scoria and crystal fused into the essence of the shard realms creating strange fusions of magic that permeate the lands and infuse the environment, spawning creatures both fantastic and fel. The permutations of these fusions are endless, realms of fire and death burn in the void with a baleful glow, plains stalked by beasts of molten metal spawned of Chamon and Ghyran magic, cavernous deeps inhabited by shadowy beasts. These realms are only as limited as the realmstone that makes up their form, some only fusing a handful of types, to some riddled with debris from each of the realms creating a Shard Realm of infinite variety. The Shard Realm of Yss is such a place…... The Shard Realm of Yss Yss is a shard realm filled with a myriad of environments, from the mundane to the reality defying. A realm of ancient kingdoms and fresh frontiers, treacherous oceans and unfathomable subterranean expanses. As such, its inhabitants are as varied and colourful as the places they inhabit. In the Grunvale and its surrounding regions the Free People settled, building great cities and forging vast nations. In the distant west on the Al’Arkan peninsula, explorers led intrepid colonists from beyond Yss to settle the coastal regions, with powerful city states blossoming on the fringes of the great deserts, the vast savannahs, and primordial jungles. Amongst the alpine peaks of the Reach lies the great elven province of Ahmarha, its citizens hardy and pragmatic. In times of war, hunters, woodsmen, and pathfinders answer the call to protect their secluded alpine realm. In the north lies the the Uilebheist Plateau, a nest for all manner of primal horrors too terrifying to describe. And beyond that is the Sundered Veil, a vast stretch of lands tainted and misshapen by fel magics during the Age of Chaos, a realm of unnatural horrors. Gibbering men cavorting amongst the ruins of lost kingdoms seeking eldritch power and the patronage of abyssal beings. To the east of the Uilebheist Plateau is the Isle of Elthuin. An ash choked volcanic landscape with vast tunnels that lead deep into the under realms below. Few travel there, the stories of the Ashen keeps sane folks away. These are just a small number of the many realms, wild regions and savage hinterlands of Yss, there are many more to be explored and revealed. An endeavor I hope you will join me in…… ~Jhez Al’Waide, Explorer and Scholar at the University of Fyrdhathen, Professor of Psariology, Amphiviology, and Yssian History. 2. Heya, completely new here... looking for Advice...? A disclaimer before i start, this army will be played in friendly games with mates...not GW tournaments, so please try and give me some freedom from nerd rage if what i'm suggesting isn't AoS canon ? I'm starting a death Army and i'm using tomb kings skeletons as my base(will incorporate more newer models as i go) as i don't want to waste em. Now i'm going to be running a "Game of thrones -White Walkers" style theme of all kinds of undead being raised for the army not just skellies.... i have an idea of grabbing some easy to build retributors and converting them up into Morghast Archai raised up on a icy ruined rubble base with some undead type wings and a skull where their helms are,i'll be trimming the hammer ends off and plasti-carding a suitable halberd blade. and making the armor look suitably shabby and dented and rusted... Just looking for any ideas on parts etc that might be suitable? and yes since i don't know the AoS fluff ...would sigmarite lads be able to be turned or are they Ultramarines that could never be broken ? Cheers MB
  3. So Ive been toying with Legion of Sacrament this week. I tried First Cohort last week and found that unless you play hyper aggressively with Nagash (Which you can do when he has 2 Arkai as well) and protect your Necromancers, your gunna lose the Objective based games the moment your tied up. Anywho, onto legion of Sacrament this week so tonight I am playing (while casting at the seam time some how) with a Legion of Sacrament build I've been toying with. My list is below. I will say, it originally had no battalion and had a Neferata in it which seemed... meh. Leaders Arkhan The Black Mortarch of Sacrament (320) - General - Lore of the Dead : Soul Harvest (Deathmages) Necromancer (110) - Artefact : Shroud of Darkness - Lore of the Deathmages : Overwhelming Dread Necromancer (110) - Artefact : Wristbands of Black Gold - Lore of the Deathmages : Decrepify Units 4 x Morghast Archai (440) -Spirit Halberds 40 x Skeleton Warriors (280) -Ancient Spears 20 x Skeleton Warriors (160) -Ancient Blades 10 x Grave Guard (160) -Wight Blades & Crypt Shields 5 x Hexwraiths (160) Behemoths Mortis Engine (180) Battalions Lords of Sacrament (70) Total: 1990 / 2000 Allies: 0 / 400 Leaders: 3/6 Battlelines: 5 (3+) Behemoths: 2/4 Artillery: 0/4 Wounds: 137
  4. Two weeks ago I fell for the Death hype and bought myself a Death Army. I have a 1 day 3 game tournament coming up in 9 days. This thread will chart my progress with the army, report on my games in the lead up to the tourney and beyond. To begin here's the list I've submitted for the tourney: Allegiance: Grand Host of Nagash Nagash, (General) (800) Spells: Amaranthine Orb, Vile Transference, Fading Vigour Arkhan the Black, (320) Spell: Soul Harvest 4 Morghast Archai (440) 10 Skeleton Warriors (80) 10 Skeleton Warriors (80) 10 Skeleton Warriors (80) The First Cohort (160) The three spells on Nagash are (in my opinion) the best debuff, heal and damage spells. Arkhan gets the one I feel I can just about live without as he is more likely to be lost than the big fella. And here's a picture of the basic painted army so far. Still have two more archai in the process of being undercoated. As you can see I've gone with a bold but easy scheme.
  5. So, this upcoming Saturday, on March 10th, I will be representing Death on the battlefields of Knights Watch San Antonio. So, I'm looking for some advice on when it comes to fighting the myriad foes that inhabit the realms, as well as some advice for when it comes to the scenarios posted below. I've gone over this list before in other threads, so in this one, I am looking for specific tactics against certain well known lists. Things like: KO Clown Cars Tzneetch Aetherstrike Massed Blood Letters Forest Spam Slyvanneth Any help or advice would be happily taken Allegiance: Legion of SacramentLeadersArkhan The Black Mortarch of Sacrament (320)- General- Lore of the Dead: Amaranthine Orb (Vampires)Vampire Lord On Zombie Dragon(440)- Deathlance & Shield & Chalice- Artefact: Shroud of Darkness - Lore of the Vampires: Amethystine PinionsNecromancer (110)- Artefact: Wristbands of Black Gold - Lore of the Deathmages: Overwhelming DreadNecromancer (110)- Lore of the Deathmages: Fading VigourBattleline40 x Skeleton Warriors (280)- Ancient Spears40 x Skeleton Warriors (280)- Ancient Spears5 x Dire Wolves (60)Units5 x Black Knights (120)BehemothsMortis Engine (180)BattalionsLords of Sacrament (70)Total: 1970 / 2000Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 147 AOS Scenario #2.pdf (1).pdf AOS Scenario #1.pdf AOS Scenario #3.pdf
  6. I've prepared some analisys about the battletome Legions of Nagash so you can make me know what you think about it. AnywayI really find myself still pleased by this battletome cause we gained a lot of different ways to play, but also disappointed by the lot of things we lost (and the mocking about the warscroll battalions). you can find everything here^^ Before you begin... there are 8 videos in the link, I advise you beforehand^^
